We have spent nearly every summer for the past 10 years and finally decided to create the perfect vacation home on the waterfront. This is one of America's greatest summer playgrounds.
It was our first time in this home, and we enjoyed it a great deal. The location offers an excellent view of the river, and the home is in very good condition and clean. Plenty of sleeping space with several pull out sleeper sofas. The screened in porch allowed us to sit outside in the evening while protected from the bugs. The water was cool, but we enjoyed swimming although the ladder can be a little challenging to reach getting out of the water. Our boys enjoyed some fishing for small fish off the dock as well. Walking to Clayton is a bit of a hike, but not a problem if you are not in a rush. Also, we were fortunate with the weather. It was a beautiful week.
Finally, we appreciated the responsiveness of George when we had a question. he and Scott were both helpful and responsive, and we felt like their primary concern was to make sure we had what we needed to enjoy the week. I can tell you that this is not true for other locations we have rented in the past.
Only the ice machine was not able to keep up with our vacation enjoyment at Bartlett Point. We've spent 19 yrs on "The River" and this was the best land spot we have had. Probably tied for #1 all time with the island property we moved from last year. (Islands are great but . . . its an island.) Super duper kitchen, great BRs for 6 or 8. OK for up to 12, esp with teenage or under kids. George was very responsive with our few requests for assistance.
When the Blue Moon yacht shows up to dock for several days just a 1/4 mile away, you know you're in the right place. And this is the right house for Clayton-based, 1,000 Island vacations!
Four stars is good! In-house staff have to be included to consider 5 stars.
Our stay at Bartlett point was amazing. The home was so beautiful, not a detail left to chance. All top quality linens, beds, appliances and oh my god the stove- out of this world. I loved the sweeping views of the Mighty St. Lawrence and the shipping channel. I look forward to a return trip every year! Thank you for a great week of memories .
We rented the house for a week. It's a great home in a quiet and beautiful location. If we're fortunate enough we'd love to return again next year.
Beautiful home in a wonderful location. The view and access to the river were great. Everything about the home was perfect including the kitchen, deck, enclosed porch, bathrooms and sleeping options. Hope we can return sometime.
Words cannot describe just how WONDERFUL this property truly is. A gorgeous home in a magnificent setting- the pictures don't do it justice. Plenty of room for lots of family members to find their own space- both in the house, on its porches and surrounding area. We had so much fun watching the freighters, swimming off the dock and relaxing by the fires (and in the tub.) Gorgeous sunsets and sunrises- we woke up each and every day full of gratitude. Cannot wait to return next summer!
