A Beachfront house: three full bedrooms, master suite with private bath and full ocean view, second bedroom with two twin beds, third bedroom- game room/ family room with sleeper couch, sleeps two. It is really comfortable, we have tried it out to make sure!
The house is brand new and everything in it is new. It includes all the modern amenities; dishwasher, clothes washer and dryer etc. There is a wrap around porch, outdoor beach side deck and outdoor shower.
Martin and I have been long time friends with Grand Turk! Martin started coming to Grand Turk with his folks in 1964. They fell in love with the island and made a home there. It had just been electrified! Martin brought me once we were engaged in 1974 and we have been coming ever since. When we arrive each time our friends say, "Welcome home!"
Martin and Donna Seim purchased this cottage in 2014
Lucayan Shores is a very special property, once belonging to the Lucayan Indians, the original settlers on the island. Archaeological finds have confirmed that Lucayan Indians returned seasonally to this exact shore, 600 to 800 years ago, which we have
lovingly named after them.
We built these four cottages in the style of an old Bermudian cottage on the outside and full of modern comforts on the inside! The beach is a lovely walking beach, encouraging beach combing and bird watching. The sunsets are spectacular! We do love these Lucayan Shores!
Once we were set in we went and did all things from deep sea fishing to snorkeling to petting stingrays.
Our family had a great adventure in a very clean and comfortable home.
This villa is a beautifully appointed vacation home - ready for any visitors to relax. We are a family of 6 - 2 adults, 4 children (14, 12, 10, 6). We were all looking for a relaxing get-a-way, with some options of activities (but not too much). We were not looking for a resort-style vacation with all the hustle and bustle. The location offers a really nice way to enjoy "family time". We walked the beach, swam, threw frisbees, played paddle, flew kites, rented bikes to ride to the light house and visited the local grocery to enjoy meals and snacks in the house. We also walked around Cockburn Town to take everything in.
The layout of the house is open with bedrooms off to the side. All of the rooms have ceiling fans and AC units. We went during a hot week and used the ceiling fans 90%+ of the time with the windows open. If we turned on any of the units, it was for a short spurt to get some cool air moving. While it was hot, the way the windows are situated - you get a nice cross-breeze with the fans going.
The beach is private, but it was nice to chat with some locals who were taking some walks...we met some interesting people! Our 6 year-old had a fairly consistent "playdate" with one of the neighbor's dogs, playing fetch. You will need water shoes for swimming, but that did not stop us or the kids at all. We did plenty of snorkeling right here as well. A really fun aspect of this beach is the waves. It is much wavier here than at Governor's Beach - the kids loved playing in the waves and trying to body surf.
As far as activities and restaurants, we spent the majority of the time at the house and only four 1/2 days (so 2 days total) doing an excursion of sorts: My husband dove one morning with Oasis - loved it; We snubba'd with Oasis - kids loved it; We did Gibbs Cay with Bohio - really fun day learning about the island and not with a "large cruise tour". We ate dinner one night at Atrium and an early dinner at Margaritaville after spending the early afternoon at Governor's beach (M'ville gave the kids a more resort-type experience with a pool). Governor's Beach was really nice. All in all - we probably spent four 1/2 days away from the house/beach; the kids really enjoyed stepping out and playing on the beach in front of Lemon Meringue.
We strongly recommend this house as a vacation spot. The Donna & Martin and Deb were extremely responsive and helpful - from the very beginning of planning the trip to our departure.
just home from a wonderful vacation on Grand Turks at this great get away home. The house was clean and comfortable and it had most everything that we needed.
Walks on the beach and dining out were a perfect way to relax. Deborah was helpful and we felt welcomed.
Grand Turks is a quiet island when the cruise ships are not in and we really enjoyed the low key life. Grocery shopping was a little less then we were hoping for, but eating out was great. We rented and car and explored the island from one end to the other....had a fun adventure every day. Don't plan to swim on the beach right in front of the cottage but there are plenty of places to swim where the beach is sandy.
We came to relax and we were not disappointed
This home is perfect in every way for your relaxing vacation. Beautiful home with all the amenities you could ever want. Beautiful surroundings, beautiful views. Perfectly located to enjoy all that Grand Turk has to offer.
My wife and I traveled to Grand Turk and stayed in Donna & Martin's ocean side villa from February 3rd to 10th 2017. This was our first vacation to Turks & Caicos. Everything about the villa was fantastic, from initial booking and communication with Donna & Martin to our arrival and meeting with Deborah the property manager to the fantastic week we enjoyed!
The villa itself is beautifully laid out with all the necessities you need. The ocean side location was great. We enjoyed the beach right outside the door and in particular the sunsets every night. Our entire experience on the island was relaxing and enjoyable. We hope to return to this island paradise sooner rather than later and would highly recommend this property to anyone!
We enjoyed both cooking our own meals at the villa and visiting some of the local restaurants. Our favourite afternoon stop was at the Sandbar, a small restaurant / bar right on the beach on Duke Street. Great food and drinks. For dinner, although we visited a few very good restaurants, we by far enjoyed the Grand Turk Inn. The food was 5 star. Our only regret is we didn't visit more often!
Just returned from a 7 night stay at this wonderful property. The location is very private. Excellent sunsets and beach to walk. Not very good for swimming. A short drive to Governors beach is great for swimming. The public pool at the cruise dock is a great way to spend a day. The home is spotless, very new, accommodations were perfect. Great customer care, several follow up calls to see if everything was OK. Excellent all around. Strong recommend.
Lucayan Shores is located on the north west beach just minutes from the Bohio Dive Resort (Bar, Restaurant, snorkeling, diving trips, Etc.). Historic Cockburn Town and the Grand Turk National Museum are a few short minutes away by car, bike or golf cart. This is a brand new home on a very private stretch of beach.
Grand Turk is only @ 7 miles long so everything is really close. If you are looking for "action", at the southern tip of the island you will find the Cruise terminal for bars, music, shopping and one of the largest fresh water pools in the Caribbean. (When the ships are in!) The northern tip features one of the oldest lighthouses in the Caribbean as well as cliffs for seabirds and dramatic views of the 2 1/2 mile North Reef, site of shipwrecks, rescues and drama.
In between you may explore superb birding sites, wild donkeys and horses grazing along the road, beaches such as Governors Beach and Pillory Beach, as well as the unique architecture and history of Grand Turk and Cockburn Town.
Stroll down the unique and beautiful Duke Street continuing on to Front Street and a visit to the National Museum. You won't be disappointed! Pull up a chair and have a break at Barbie's or the Sandbar. Peek in to the Anglican Church or the library. This is an area that rewards strolling around and exploring.
Most of the visitors who stay on Grand Turk are well aware of the world famous waters surrounding the island and the fantastic diving and snorkeling adventures awaiting just offshore. You do not need to take long boat trips to arrive at dive sites, they are right offshore. All of the dive shops on the island will be happy to guide your water adventures, including trips to Salt Cay, Gibb Cay, whale watch trips and more.
