About the mews house:

This 100 square meter, first floor townhouse embodies typical British architecture and is surrounded by many famous landmarks and places. You will benefit from a relaxing atmosphere inside the tastefully decorated home. A private mews house is a wonderful experience. Originally, when houses were built along the streets of London, the mews lanes behind the great houses were lined with lovely “cottages” for horses and carriages. The Beatles made enjoying life in a private London mews house very fashionable, a lifestyle that remains popular to this day.

Upon entering in the house, on the right hand side you are greeted by a large and bright living area. The living room contains a corner sofa and large flat-screen television with cable for your enjoyment. You will also benefit from a free high-speed Wi-Fi connection throughout the flat.

Moving on from the living room, you’ll find the dining room with a table and chairs for six people. It is the perfect place to gather around to enjoy a home cooked meal when you feel like staying in instead of testing one of South Kensington’s best restaurants. The fully-equipped kitchen with a stove, oven, dishwasher, fridge/freezer, microwave, toaster, coffee machine, teakettle and more. All pots, pans, crockery and utensils are provided so that you can benefit from the luxury of being able to prepare meals at home. The flat also has a clothes washing and drying machine and iron and board for your convenience.

On the right hand side, you will find the three separate bedrooms. The Master bedroom has a king size bed. The second and third bedrooms each contain a queen size bed. The house can accommodate up to 6 guests very comfortably. All bedding, linens and pillows are provided and you will find the bed neatly made upon arrival.

There are two bathrooms next to the bedrooms and contains a combination bathtub/shower, sink, toilet and hair dryer. Fresh towels and complimentary rolls of toilet paper are provided for your stay. Luxurious bath towels for 6 people are provided. You will also receive complementary travel-size shampoos, soaps, shower gels and toilet paper rolls to start off your stay.

The flat is heated during the colder months of the year. Unfortunately there is no air conditioning as the London weather forecast rarely proves to be warm enough to justify it, but we will be happy to provide you with fans to keep you cool during your stay. Our Welcoming Team will come and meet you upon arrival, give you a tour of the mews house and the kitchen appliances, get you connected to the Wi-Fi and give you the keys to the flat. Inside the house you’ll also find a personal guidebook with ideas on where to eat in South Kensington and what to do in London.

About London’s South Kensington Neighbourhood:

The South Kensington area is one of the most central, safe and family-friendly neighbourhoods in London. Its residential streets are lined with beautiful architecture and typical mews houses. Some of London’s best museums call this neighbourhood “home”, including the Natural History Museum, Victoria and Albert Museum and the Science Museum. The Imperial College of Science and Technology, The Royal College of Music and the Royal Albert Hall can also be found in this area. There are endless shopping opportunities at High Street Kensington. There are plenty of good restaurants in the South Kensington area and you are sure to find something to tickle everyone’s taste buds.

Hyde Park borders this neighbourhood to the north. It is easily accessible by foot and provides endless opportunities for walking, jogging or running in London. You can rent a canoe to explore the Serpentine River and experience London like a local. A picnic in Hyde Park is an ideal way to spend a sunny afternoon in the city. No visit to London would be complete without passing by Kensington Palace and Gardens, home to Prince William and Princess Kate Middleton.

The nearest Tube Station, South Kensington Underground Station (Piccadilly, Circle and District lines), provides an easy way to navigate around the rest of the city. From here you can easily reach some of the other major tourist sights in London including Big Ben, Buckingham Palace, Tower Bridge, the London Eye, Saint Paul’s Cathedral, Piccadilly Circus and the West End and more. The London Underground also provides and easy link to Heathrow, Gatwick and Luton airports.

Great Location Close to Many Museums and Hyde Park

Our family of 5 loved the location of this apartment - very short walk to Gloucester and South Kensington tube stations. Kitchen was well equipped and plenty of space for all of us. Very safe neighborhood with proximity to lots of restaurants and shops. Within 5-15 minutes to Hyde Park, Harrods, Kensington Palace, Natural History, Victoria and Albert Museum and more. The house looks like in the photos - bright and spcaious with modern furnishing. Neat and tidy and nicely organised. Nicolas who came for the meet-and-greet and keys was polite and responsible.

Terrific house!

My husband and I had the most wonderful time during our recent holiday in London with our 3 children. The house is centrally located and the Tube station is just a short walk away. Hyde Park is extremely close and the kids loved walking there to have some time to run around and breathe some fresh air. Many museums are near as well for those looking for a cultural experience. The house is spacious and nicely renovated. It has nice modern amenities including a good wifi connection (important for my husband's work). The kitchen was equipped with all of the necessities and we were also provided with sheets and towels. Paul remained available to answer any and all of our questions. Highly recommended for a family who needs some space and privacy.

Well-located, spacious flat, but poorly managed and maintained

The flat is a bit shabby and was not clean for our arrival. The kitchen was filthy and we had to purchase cleaning supplies and clean it ourselves to make it suitable for our stay. Light bulbs need to be replaced, cobwebs removed, toilet seat repaired, stairs swept. We had to purchase soap for the bathrooms. Beware the large cleaning fee as it isn't being put to good use.

The rental manager was not reachable by any of the means provided (phone, text, email) and was mostly unresponsive. Overall, completely unhelpful. The greeter kept us waiting without word on the street with our luggage when we arrived. Frustrating. They did not deliver a second set of keys as promised, which hampered our visit.

Also, this flat is on the first floor of a wobbly old mews and has a VERY steep and narrow set of stairs to climb. Could be a challenge for older people with heavy luggage. Only able bodied guests will be able to access this place comfortably. Also, outside lights did not function and are needed to illuminate stairs and doorway at night.

We would not return here, nor rent from this manager again.

Maison Calme en Plein Coeur de South Kensington

Pierre était à l'écoute et très attentif. La maisonette est très bien située en plein coeur de South Kensington et au même temps dans une rue très calme. Nous avons adoré la maison - la décoration, le confort et la propreté sont au rendez vous! Il y avait des serviettes et des produits dans la salle de bain pour nous. Trois chambres avec 2 salles de bains, c'était parfait pour notre famille.
