Beautiful Log Home in Hidden Valley (one hour from Pittsburgh) within walking distance to the ski slopes (100-200 feet) and the State Forest as backyard. The house has 3 bedrooms plus an additional open loft with two additional beds and TV. The basement has pool table and dart as well as additional sleeping space. There are 3 bathrooms, one on each floor, indoor fireplace, a large outside deck, an outdoor hot tub (will be closed during winter), sauna in the basement and a newly renovated kitchen. The house has a perfect location for skiing (slopes are across the street) and the property borders directly up to the state forest with plenty of trails for hiking and biking. Hidden Valley Golf Course is about 1 mile up the road, and Seven Springs Ski and Golf area is about 10 minutes away.
The house has high-speed internet and WI/FI, Sonos Music Streaming, Laundry room and much more.
The home is ideal for bigger families and can host 8-10 people. However, we do not allow more than 8 adults. As there are all-year residents in the neighborhood, it is expected that our renters respect their privacy, as well as the renters keep a max of 4-5 cars in the driveway (no cars on the street is allowed). Outdoor fire is not allowed.
We stayed at the cabin on a very cold snowy weekend in January. Four adults and four pre teens. We skied Friday night and all day Saturday. The basement has a nice ski dressing area. We walked across the road and to the slopes; very easy. The fireplace was nice and cozy. Just wish there was a tv in the main area. Eveything else was very nice.
The log cabin was perfect. The house has the perfect layout with bedrooms and bathrooms. We had some wonderful meals at the large dining room table, and the large back porch was so nice with the hot tub. I loved sitting on the porch in the morning. I would stay at the house again when visiting Hidden Valley. It was a wonderful family weekend.
The cabin was clean and spacious with more than enough sleeping space for 9 guys. The hot tub was larger than expected with space for 4. We never quite figured out how to work the AC and I'm not even sure if there was one, but thankfully it was a cool weekend so it wasn't needed. One of the shower drains clogged on the first day, which meant there was only one remaining working one. All the pool cue tips were down to the nub, so we replaced them. The darts flights were also missing, so we replaced those as well. We were told the fire pit couldn't be used because of the season (July); I wish we would have known this beforehand. We were also scolded for noise at 11pm, which are apparently quiet hours even on Friday and Saturday. Had we known this we would have kept quieter, but it was the manner in which the neighbors informed us that was most off putting. It's a nice cabin, but the items I mentioned really had an impact on our stay.
We rented this place for a summer weekend getaway with our kids and another family with kids. The place was fabulous. Plenty of places to sleep. Great open space to hang out. Open kitchen for cooking. And a huge deck and hot tub to hang out on. The owner was flexible and communicative. Would certainly return again!
I'm so glad we found this place for our vacation - 10 of us celebrated my 30th birthday rafting in Ohiopyle and staying here. Michael sent us an email a few days before check-in with all the information we needed. When we got there, we found the cabin clean, cozy and welcoming. There was more than enough room for everyone to sleep (could probably have even invited more!) and all the beds and sofas were incredibly comfortable. There were enough pillows, blankets and towels for everyone. The hot tub was a hit, and the grill and kitchen allowed us to cook our meals and save money on eating out. The sound system is awesome with access to endless radio stations and albums, there are a bunch of fun games we unfortunately didn't get around to playing, and the Apple TV is great if you have downtime to watch netflix or whatever. We weren't able to have an outside fire, but there is a sizable wood pile for the indoor fireplace. This rustic cabin was the perfect place to make or vacation memorable. Loved it so much I didn't want to leave!
