The house was great and the access to the river was terrific. Disregard any of the bad reviews....people don't know what they are talking about. The owner was nice enough to let us in hours before we were supposed to check in. The house had plenty of linens and towels for our use. The backyard fire pit was great. My only disappointment was that w could not use the fireplace (don't know why) and it was a little chilly in house and there is no heat (owners provided two space heaters which were fine). No complaints here....beds were comfortable, the drive to Lake George was easy and there is a convenience store and a grocery store nearby. Thank you for letting us use your home. My kids say it was one of their FAVORITE vacations.
Very nice cabin. Me and my family had a blast. We truly enjoyed our stay. The cabin itself is beautifully built and maintained. The layout of the house is very modern, yet it has a lot of character. The area where the cabin is located is very nice. It is within minutes to lake George. Thanks Richard! We hope to return soon.
Glad you enjoyed your stay and hope to see you again soon. Thank you for your review.

Property was kept, but not clean. Access to dock on Hudson river was down a few flights of dangerous stairs. We were constantly killing bugs, mainly in the kitchen. Some sort of flying ants. Two small air conditioners downstairs were sufficient, but the two upstairs bedrooms were uncomfortable to sleep in.
Relaxing in Hadley
We were a family of 5, 3 adults and two teenagers. The cabin met and exceeded all of our expectations. Everything was very clean , and spacious. For a cabin in the woods , this does not disappoint .We loved the back porch and used the fire pit a few times .Walking down the steep stairs was a bit daunting at first , but the view and the swimming were so worth the trip down . We loved it . Also the beach is a short walk away , and the swimming is wonderful there as well . We went white water rafting , went to the rodeo , and played put putt . We had a great stay and hope to come back next year .
Very Disappointed with Access to River/Beach
Before we unpacked- I called Richard, we were VERY disappointed in the lack of access to the river- the photos and LACK of photos on how you get the river was a shock. The photos make it seem like you can access the river with ease- NOT the case. Our conversation ended when the owner told us our only option was to leave asap- and not spend the night- only to get 1/2 of money back- those were his terms- after a 5 hour car ride with 2 kids- not an option- we left a day early though. The closest and most direct access to the river are via some of the STEEPEST, and most NARROW steps ever ! These cabins are built up on a bluff- to get to the river- you cross a road -then navigate those super steep steps- the bluffs are only a few feet wide at most- the stairs are made of metal and subway type grating- two landings to get to the river. The beach is a solid two block walk, there is only parking for two vehicles at the beach, because a third vehicle would then be blocking someones private entrance to their stairs leading down the bluff. Both times we tried to drive to the beach- others had the same idea-and we had to walk the two blocks with coolers, chairs, umbrellas, reading material etc- NOT very convenient The description to the actual cabin was accurate, if you want seclusion- this is for you- if you want easy access to the river and its many activities-look elsewhere
Sorry to hear that you were disappointed. My first correspondence with Ed was via voicemail "Hi Rick, I want to tell you I'm very disappointed and don't know if we will be staying here tonight. Call me back." I called him immediately regarding his concerns about the stairs going to the water, two lane road to cross and how I deceived quests that the beach was in the backyard which ad clearly states 2 minute walk to beach. After 14 minute conversation I tried to appease him and offered him 50% back if he wanted to leave that night, which is far more then homeaway policy of 0 refund when cancelling within 7 days. He said he would discuss with his wife and let me know, but never returned call and ended up staying the week.
We had a fantastic time during our stay here.. The house is great! Comfortable beds, very clean, beautiful surroundings, and a huge fire pit under the tall pines are some of great features of this property. Also the cute beach just a walk away from the house and a boat dock! We loved it here and WILL be returning next year!!
