We just returned from a week in this lovely cottage. Perfect for our little family of 3. We took advantage of the perfect location for long walks on the beach, views from the lanai and huge lawn (great for hide and seek!). Has everything you need - highly recommended.
We go to Kauai regularly and looked at many options for this trip from hotels to houses on Kauai. For the location, right on the water, it's absolutely worth it and the price for this house is very fair. You didn't have to "schlepp" to the beach. We'd let kids sleep in, wander down to the water when we felt like it, swim, boogie board and surf, wander back, take an outdoor shower; repeat. The house is perfect size for family of four, we did a bunch of cooking and the kitchen has basically everything you need. We walked to town at least once/day, drove to Ke'e, snorkeled in Anini; but the highlight of the trip was really the house and the location. I sat on the lanai for hours reading books. The picture is the view from the lanai. There is a garage and house closer to the beach then this house, but its still an awesome view and you have direct access right to the beach. There was no one in the "big" house the week we were there, so it was super quiet. Highly recommended.
Our family of 4 enjoyed the perfect stay in Hanalei. We loved everything about the cottage, both inside and out, and most especially its proximity to beach and town. Brian of Aloha Beach Vacations was great to deal with from start to finish. It is without hesitation that I recommend the property and the property management company.
We just got here and the cottage is great! It is cute and very comfortable. It is not totally updated with granite and such but if it was the price would go up and we couldn't stay as long. The a/c works great - there is a unit in each room that works with a remote. The main picture seen is the view off the lanai. They should add a picture of the lanai itself which is nice. There is a grill just down the stairs and a hose and shower to wash off. The unit is perfect for a small family. You have direct access to the beach and there is lots of grassy space for soccer or football. They have all kinds of stuff for water play - boogie boards and such. There is a super sweet kitty who lives on the property too. I think this side of the beach is best because there are some small waves. The area by the pier is totally flat.
The cottage itself has just about everything u might need - blender, coffee maker and grinder, flat screen, safe, lots of fans, kitchen gear and such. The only thing I did not find was a hairdryer. I was wondering how nice it would be since it is the best price right on the beach and I am not disappointed. I felt compelled to write the review since they do not list out all the detail on the listing. Great place.
Our family of 4 had a lovely stay in the beachfront cottage for 9 nights. Although the cottage is small, it did not feel confining. It was well equipped and had everything we needed to make dinner, relax on the beach and play in the ocean. It was a pleasant 10 minute walk to downtown Hanalei. We had a nice view of the ocean and the walk to beautiful Hanalei Bay was nearly a hop, skip and jump. Both the property manager, Brian, and property caretaker, Jimmy, were delightful to deal with. We will be returning soon.
I just wrote the below review for a potential guest who had commented on the lack of reviews available for this house, so thought I would add it here for future visitors!
We absolutely loved it!
It is the perfect relaxed, island beach house.
The location in our opinion is hard to beat. It’s literally a walk across the lawn to the beach and it’s about an 8-10 minute walk up to the restaurants and cafes of Hanalei Bay. It is down the quieter end of the beach, which was a bonus for us.
Both bedrooms are of equal size, which is good (we went with another couple). The bathroom is on the smaller side but perfectly fine. The kitchen is great and has everything you need. There is a lovely, large lanai for relaxing outside.
The only functioning aircon is in the loungeroom. The bedrooms have ceiling fans which was good for sleeping.
In short, for the money, we just couldn’t recommend it enough. I would have stayed a month.
One thing to note, is that the house in the photo on VRBO isn’t the actual cottage you’d be staying in, it’s the larger main house. The cottage is behind that larger main house – so the perspective and view in that photo is taken from the lanai of the guest cottage. It took me a while of looking at different photos on different websites before we got there, to work out that the house in question was not actually the house in the photo!
Having said that, while we were there, there was a family staying in the main house. They were lovely and friendly and short of a few ‘hellos’ when we crossed paths, we didn’t even know they were there most of the time.
Hanalei Bay is paradise on earth and the cottage is fantastic. We will be back!
