About Jerry Rudick

I am a native of San Diego, living and attending schools in La Jolla since the age of 10. After leaving La Jolla to attend college at UCLA and work in Los Angeles and San Francisco, I returned home and fell in love with the Barber Tract and it's beautiful beaches. This is the most wonderful place to find peace and call home.

Why Jerry Rudick chose San Diego County

I have always wanted to live at the end of this cul de sac on Vista De La Playa. The setting is so uniquely quiet and travelled by very few vehicles compared to the rest of the beach area. And, the smell of the salt air along with the sounds of the surf at home is an incredible treasure. As far as La Jolla beaches go, the local beach in front of this house is especially beautiful and uncrowded compared with other La Jolla beaches. This is the finest location in all of the Barber Tract beach area.

Wish we could stay forever!

First off, the property owner Jerry is quite a pleasure to interact with. He is very responsive to any questions you might have. Second, the house is gorgeous and most of all clean and comfortable. It comes stocked with anything you could need, down to the playpen to a high chair. The location is literally steps to the beach and within walking distance to the main stretch. We will most definitely be coming back. Thanks Jerry!

AMAZING!!!!

Jerry was so easy to get a hold of, communicated well and for someone like us that meant a lot because we live out of state. First off, the home was amazing!! We have a family of 5. 6year old boy, 4 year old girl, and a 1 year old boy. The house was set up perfect for it, but always amazing for me and my wife. The rooms were well stocked, the beds and pillows were so comfortable. You can tell Jerry put a lot of thought into the comfort of his guests. The entire set up of the home was amazing, layout was perfect, along with an outside patio area great for small kids, along with nice evenings with my wife hearing the water and surrounded by a well taken care of landscape. Jerry had all the things we needed including all the beach things we would need. ALSO THE BEACH WAS LESS THAN A 2 MINUTE WALK. This is huge because there is nothing worse than finding parking at the beach and dragging all your stuff to it. The home is located within minutes to all of the restaurants. I will can't say enough about how amazing this stay was, and I really enjoyed working with Jerry. We will be returning again next year!

Perfect Vacation Home

We absolutely fell in love with the house and its location! The pictures really don't do it justice! We felt very much at home, it is perfectly outfitted with everything you need. From beach gear (including chairs and body boards) to a fully equipped kitchen so you could make delicious dinners, tons of towels and top notch brand new washer and dryer. The street is very quiet and quaint, and the house is a few steps from a beach that almost feels private because it was never too crowded. And if you don't want to go to the beach, you can lounge out in the backyard which feels like a little oasis with lovely flora and the sound of the crashing ocean waves. It also is a very short drive to the village where you can get everything you need.

The bedrooms are spacious and the beds are very comfortable. The whole place is well taken care of and clean. There are fans in the bedrooms and the little children's room is really precious. There really is nothing bad you could say about the place. It truly felt like home.

And finally, Jerry is not only very nice but very prompt in his responses, and it shows that he truly cares about the house guests.

We definitely will go back and want to make it a regular annual vacation spot. I wanted to keep it our little family secret but I figured that that is too selfish and not good for Jerry, so here is a glowing review of one of the past vacation houses we have ever stayed at (and we have stayed in many).

We had a fabulous time and love that this house will always be the backdrop to our priceless memories! Thanks Jerry!

Avoid this rental for now...

We rented this home for Thanksgiving week, 2016. It is a charming home in original 1950's condition, in a super location, literally 3 houses from Windansea Beach, and close to shops and restaurants. The floor plan, front patio, and back yard are great for families. That being said, I have a warning for you if you plan on staying there anytime in the next 9-12 months. Beware that there is major construction noise and tons of trucks monopolize the entire street everyday from 6:45 am - 4:30 pm. There are at least 2 huge mansions that are currently being completely rebuilt on this little street. It will probably take a year before the noise and parking issues subside. There is no street parking for your guests, and there is only room for one car at the residence. Our annoyance from the loud talking before 7 am outside our bedroom window, the noise from equipment, and all of the congestion outside were deal breakers, we heard them all day long. Our adult children couldn't park when they came to visit. I did notify the owner of the beach house but he is apparently powerless to do anything about it. Sadly, I have to say, avoid this rental for now.

Jerry's House

We really enjoyed our stay in Lajolla. Everything we wanted was there, there was a PlaynPac and a high chair for our grandchild, Ping Pong table and Boogie Boards and sand toys were a added treat. The kitchen was not modern but was well stocked with dishes, wine glasses and pots and pans and things for cleaning up.

The nearby beach was wonderful but the sand had washed away from the bottom step so that the drop to the sand was a long one for the less agile. We would rent this house again.

Wonderful Home!

This house was such a pleasant place to stay! There were 8 of us in total and we were very comfortable there. The equipment and decor of the house made it feel like home. The kitchen was very nicely supplied. We were able to cook and set a very nice table for every meal. Having the beach so close was great for family fun for all ages. 2 - 63. Last but not least Jerry was a pleasure to work with and we hope to return soon 😊
