Our stay with Eric was great. The apartment is charming, well-equipped and centrally located. Eric made us feel very welcome. We would definitely stay there again.
the victorian architecture is authentic and very charming. the interior is well maintained and clean. the bedrooms are large, especially the third floor/attic. once you get past the rather steep steps (not the best for elderlies), you are rewarded with a wonderful and gigantic space (photos on the listing do not do justice). bathrooms are adequate with good hot water supply. as a previous guest commented, the bathrooms are "located in weird places". besides a bit of circulation issue, it wasn't a problem. owner eric is a gem. he is responsive, always pleasant and generous in spirit. the welcome basket and the cold drinks in the fridge were much appreciated after our long car ride. the kitchen was so well stocked it truly feels like being at home. wifi is good throughout the house. eric's binder with info about the house is so organized and detailed it is foolproof. having one parking space in the garage (one more vehicle may be parked in the driveway) makes a big difference (albeit the garage being a little tight). we were able to drive around town during the day and then returned in the evening without having to worry about finding a parking space on the street (close to impossible). the house is well located in noe valley, a quaint community laden with many shops and restaurants. we visited the local farmers market on saturday just a short block away and bought delicious matsutake mushrooms and other fresh produce. we were a group of three adults and two teenagers and we enjoyed our stay thoroughly.
A wonderful stay overall! The home was lovely, clean, comfortable, and its size suitable for the eight of us. The Victorian design absolutely enchanting. The master bedroom on the upper level was very spacious and beautifully designed, and a great place for us to chat and wind down after a long day. We did not meet Eric but he communicated all the details we needed to check in and settle down when we arrive. The welcome treats were also much appreciated. I would definitely highly recommend this place to friends traveling in the area.
We loved this beautiful and unique home situated in a great location, close enough to everything yet far enough for some quiet moments when we just wanted to relax. Thank you for a wonderful stay. It had everything we needed.
The property is very clean, comfortable and spacious. The master suite is enchanting!
We had a lovely time in this home. It is a huge Victorian on a corner one block off the major shopping street in Noe Valley. The owner stays in the other part as its a huge house and they are divided. There were three bedrooms in our unit and a kitchen and everything else ( the house must have been divided for apartments since it was so large and in a very high rent area) you'd need. Since it was old the bathrooms were in weird spots but the kitchen was wonderful. Space would not be an issue here. The master bedroom is up some kind of steep stairs from the other two bedrooms, the bathroom and living, dining and kitchen. The master bedroom was very neat to us, the main bathroom was up there. But I suppose if you were an older couple you might not like those stairs. The owner greeted us and was very nice and helpful. Im sure if you had any questions he would be very helpful. There were many things to help you if you were totally new to the area, he had maps and all sorts of other things. Noe Valley is a very nice, upscale neighborhood with good restaurants, shopping and a Whole Foods restaurant. Id lived in SF before but was young and unable to afford this neighborhood but every time we visit we rent a home in this neighborhood. There public transport to downtown if you need it on one of the street cars. I think it is worth the price but be aware that having many many people might make the bathroom situation less than ideal since there are only two.
The house is located on the corner of two quiet, residential streets very near the local Noe Valley business district. Starbucks coffee, numerous restaurants and Whole Foods market are within two blocks. A bakery, newsstand, pharmacy, cheese shop, post office, chocolatier and library are all similarly close, among other neighborhood resources. Several parks are also nearby, including Dolores Park with its spectacular downtown views and kids playground. Both BART and MUNI public transportation systems are within walking distance.
Noe Valley is a popular neighborhood with a distinctly suburban feel. It has a mix of old and new residential properties where people from many diverse backgrounds live together. Noe Valley also has a charming business district where a wide variety of restaurants and shops can be found. These areas are surrounded by various parks that help make Noe Valley among the greener neighborhoods in San Francisco. This combination of lovely residential properties, wonderful shops and accessible outdoor spaces help set Noe Valley apart in a city already known for its beauty.
Noe Valley is a great place from which to get to know San Francisco. It is located between the Castro and Mission neighborhoods, and is central to many popular areas in the city, including: Twin Peaks, Haight Ashbury, Golden Gate Park, downtown, North Beach, Chinatown and SOMA. Well known attractions like Alcatraz Island, the cable cars, Moscone Center, Coit Tower, the Presidio, Union Square, the Golden Gate Bridge, Pier 39/Fisherman’s Wharf and Lombard Street are within a few miles. Other attractions like Sausalito, the Marin Headlands, Napa Valley, Sonoma Valley, Monterey Bay and Lake Tahoe are further away but still easily reached.
