About Marilyn Blackburn

I live 25 minutes away and have had so much fun fixing up this cabin and making a pleasant retreat for people! I hope you come and spend a couple days taking in all that Granite Falls and Canyon Falls Cabin have to offer! You will never forget it!

Marilyn Blackburn purchased this cabin in 2011

Why Marilyn Blackburn chose Washington

Granite Falls is 30 minutes from the big city and yet a world away! One stop light, and the gateway to year round enjoyment, so I knew when I saw this cabin that it was the perfect cabin, on the perfect spot above the river, in the perfect town!

What makes this cabin unique

I love this cabin for several reasons...the most obvious is when you look out the window, the river is rushing right past! It looks and sounds beautiful. The cabin was built in 2000 so it has all the features I want in terms of conveniences, but the setting in the forest invokes the rustic, outdoors feeling that I want.

This cabin is perfect and has everything I look for in a getaway. The hot tub right on the river i beautiful. I love that even though the cabin is so cozy, it has an excellent kitchen.

Unique Cabin right on Canyon Creek Falls

  • 5 of 5

Agree with other reviews; really enjoyed the natural wood cabin. All the firewood you could want, and the hearty wood stove, kept the cabin warm in wintry weather. Great hiking and snowshoeing at places such as Heather Lake and Big Four Ice Caves, east on Mountain Loop Highway. Well equipped kitchen. Would go again - summer or winter!

This was a great place to get away from everything for the weekend. Very clean, and ready for me the moment I walked through the door.

Quite the gem overlooking the river

  • 4 of 5

Nice location and a great place for a bit of peace and quiet! About 2h from Stevens Pass and 45m from Bellingham or Seattle. Very quiet and peaceful enjoying the hot tub while listening to the rushing waters of the river below.

Our only complaint is that the master bedroom could use a different mattress - had to hang onto the side rail to keep from rolling into the middle. Mattress aside, Marylin was a pleasure to work with and we would highly recommend her property and/or stay here again. We will be back, Washington State!
