About Marilyn Blackburn

I live 25 minutes away and have had so much fun fixing up this cabin and making a pleasant retreat for people! I hope you come and spend a couple days taking in all that Granite Falls and Canyon Falls Cabin have to offer! You will never forget it!

Marilyn Blackburn purchased this cabin in 2011

Why Marilyn Blackburn chose Washington

Granite Falls is 30 minutes from the big city and yet a world away! One stop light, and the gateway to year round enjoyment, so I knew when I saw this cabin that it was the perfect cabin, on the perfect spot above the river, in the perfect town!

What makes this cabin unique

I love this cabin for several reasons...the most obvious is when you look out the window, the river is rushing right past! It looks and sounds beautiful. The cabin was built in 2000 so it has all the features I want in terms of conveniences, but the setting in the forest invokes the rustic, outdoors feeling that I want.

Perfect getaway

  • 5 of 5

Perfect location for an escape for the weekend and the communication with owner was terrific. River view was good but note that you cannot safely get to the waters edge. Enjoyed the hot-tubing by the river! Close to town and local hikes.

Close to town but far away from it all!

  • 5 of 5

This cabin is amazing - so roomy yet perfectly cozy, the hot tub (and the view from it) was INCREDIBLE, the view from upstairs & the deck were gorgeous. A short drive from some great hikes & a small town w/ lots of food choices. Our dog loved it here too! They also have a lovely selection of movies and CDs for those inclined to leave all of the electronics at home. The bed was a little wonky and caved inwards towards the middle, but other than that, it was great! I've recommended it to friends, and we are definitely planning on going back for some R&R ourselves soon!

Owner's Response: I am glad you enjoyed yourself and wanted you to know that a new bed was delivered last week. Now we have a great queen size and a great twin in the kids room!

Amazing cabin in the woods

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful time at Marilyn's cabin! The cabin is spacious but cozy at the same time. Loved all the skylights and big windows with great views of the trees and a view of the river from the upper floor. We did some cross country skiing and snowshoeing at Big Four Ice caves which is nearby. Came back and soaked in the hot tub which was the perfect end to an active day. Everything was great but I'd have to agree with previous reviewers that the main bed sinks a bit in the middle, but that won't stop us from coming back. We loved the cabin!
