About Suki Stobbs
I live on site with my family in The Farmhouse. I was born and brought up in Scotland. Property is my business and these holiday rentals are part of that business. I work from home so am delighted to bump into guests and have a chat! Feel free to ask about things to see and do in the area or further afield. You will spot me walking the dogs! Tim my husband is also around and can deal with any queries.
Suki Stobbs purchased this Cottage in 1995
Why Suki Stobbs chose Perth
We moved to this location from Fife. We wanted great views and country location. In fact the location is a winner for most people who come here - we are perfectly set up for the fabulous wedding venues in the area - especially Guardswell which is next door. Some guests want proximity to Dundee, others want easy access to Edinburgh and others want to be able to get to St. Andrews and all of the golf courses over in Fife or here in Perthshire or Angus. We took a few years to convert an old farm steading into the holiday cottages called Pitmiddle and Outfield. We are delighted with the result and opened for business way back in 2005, can't believe it is that long ago. Honeysuckle always existed as a little bothy so we decorated it in the same colours and promoted it from a long term rental to a holiday let. We have tried to cover every eventuality offering a 1 bedroom cottage, 2 bedroom cottage, 3 bedroom cottage or the 2 joined together to give a 5 bedroom cottage.
What makes this Cottage unique
We have evolved into a wellness retreat with wood fired hot tubs and a woodfired sauna along with our wellness gym. There are plenty of cycle routes and walks from your front door. As you walk around up here you have the most fantastic views towards Abernyte village, The River Tay and King's Seat. You feel on top of the world - almost alpine (especially in the snow!). All guests can use the summer house above the tennis court and take in the rolling countryside around us. We are however only 20 minutes by car to either Dundee or Perth city centres. We now have the V&A museum in Dundee city centre - 20/25 minutes away We are 'quite green' - you will spot our new wind turbine which we hope will cover our electricity costs - it's only a little one but we have high hopes! All properties have reclaimed wooden flooring and use a soak away drainage system. We also have our own private water supply with its water treatment room where the water is constantly filtered and backwashed daily. Pitmiddle and Outfield also benefit from underfloor heating powered by the ground source heat pump in Outfield. We hope too you will enjoy the animals round about. We had our own alpacas and hens but now we just have a few pet sheep and in the summer our neighbouring farmer puts some of his sheep in 1 of our fields and in winter we get Shetland ponies. We do also provide satellite wifi for our guests which is now something I believe people come to expect. Help yourselves to logs, they all come from here.
100% refund if canceled at least 60 days before arrival date.
Relaxed rural charm
We had a great stay at Outfield.
Incredibly relaxing and perfect for us all including the two dogs.
Tim and suki were welcoming and friendly hosts and the accommodation was great - both cosy and big enough for us to get away from each other if needed.
We had a great time with the hot tub, sauna and dunking in Tim’s outdoor bath with a view!
Would definitely recommend and we can’t wait to come back!
We love seeing people enjoying their surroundings and making use of all the facilities. Very much hope to see you again.
Fantastic Holiday home
Fantastic holiday at Outfield. The new Hot Tub has been an excellent addition to an already perfect place for our family. Relaxing under the stars on a clear frosty night was just amazing....we will be back.
It was great to see you all again, and as repeat guests it is always helpful to hear your feedback. So glad you enjoyed the wood burning tub and we look forward to your next visit.
Shared with my family in Scotland for a reunion. Grandsons were delighted with the game room and near by sheep. Suki and her husband were gracious and helpful.
We very much enjoyed meeting you all and delighted that the family gathering was such a success.
Homely and cosy
Great stay ! Lovely view, homely and cosy. Not everything was working (dvd, some lights), but the experience's been fantastic !
Thanks for taking time out to review. I have replaced kitchen bulbs I found not working, on your departure. I will investigate the dvd, it is quite a new machine so I will see what the problem is - happy to rectify any housekeeping issues during the stay. Thank you for a real Italian Risotto!
What an amazing place
Our family of 6 stayed in the Outfield for 3 days and loved the place. The view was amazing. The kids loved the game room and tennis court. We went on hikes on the Hill Path and found wild raspberry bushes. Suki was extremely helpful and gave us a lot of great recommendations when we arrived. Thanks for letting us enjoy your house, we would love to come back for another stay.
Very happy that you discovered the paths and enjoyed the countryside on site, it was good to meet you all. Thanks for taking time out to review.
Lovely location, great accommodation.......you would find it hard to better!
We spent four nights here in July and it was one of the most relaxing breaks ever. Half way between Perth and Dundee it is a great location for exploring Perthshire and surrounding including St Andrews. Accommodation was exceptional and really made you feel at home, great log fire in Outfield cottage. Wide range of walks on your doorstep, tennis court on site and fantastic games room for those occasional rainy days. We've stayed in a lot of places in the U.K. And around the world, Outfield ranks up there with the best......
Am so glad you appreciated the location - country and quiet yet very close to the road network. We are always developing our on site facilities and our sauna and wellness room are almost ready for guests to try out.
This property is on a small farm in The Carse of Gowrie only a mile from Abernyte. We are 20 minutes from Dundee city centre and 20 minutes (by car) from Perth city centre. Although rural we are about 7 minutes by car to the dual carriageway and then it is an hour to Edinburgh or an hour and a bit to the outskirts of Glasgow or within an hour you are up in the Highlands. Golf in Blairgowrie is 20 minutes away or golf in St. Andrews is 40 minutes away. Fishing in nearby lochs or on The River Tay is all within easy reach.
Other Activities: Shared table tennis and pool table on site as will as tennis court and walking
Golf: Blairgowrie golf course is within a 20 minute drive, it has the superb Rosemount and Landsdowne courses as well as the Wee Course. Visitor rates can be found on their website.
There is also golfing at Piperdam resort and then 40 minutes away you have all the courses of St. Andrews.
Ski: Just over an hour away you have the slopes of Glenshee. Or the far side of Edinburgh you have the artificial ski slope at Hillend.
