We had a great time exploring all the house had to offer. The two decks were great for watching the stars. Fireplace was charming and easy to use. The kitchen was fully stocked with cutlery, etc to feed 7 adults and probably could have fed more. We had some small kids visit and not understand why there weren't pages in the "books" on the shelf. They had never seen VHS tapes before!
Thanks for a memorable weekend
We spent 5 days here with 2 families (4 kids aged 12, 11, 9 and 9) and we could not have enjoyed our stay more. The house was tranquil and inviting -- perfectly laid out for together time as well as quiet spaces for sleeping and reading. There was a designer among us, who enjoyed the classic, low key California style -- open spaces oriented towards views, large natural beams (with bonus of some climbing pegs -- fun for our wall-climbing tweens). The main space is open and airy, with one end open onto windows and a balcony in the trees, and the other end all windows and another balcony overlooking the water. There's a little cozy t.v. nook where the kids could play or watch a video, or grownups could talk late at night, two large private bedrooms downstairs (comfy beds), and two nice lofts upstairs. The kitchen has everything you need to cook a nice family dinner, although you need to improvise a little (move the desk to the table) to get 8 people sitting down for a meal.
Cozy and comfortable for 5 adults and 4 kids ages 7-17 during our stay. The jack and jill bathroom worked well on main floor. As others have stated, the house is very close to many attractions, be it the beach, the Elk, Point Reyes. Great view of bay, kitchen is well stocked, everything worked...appliances, lights, water etc.
Parking is tight, as there is no driveway. We were able to squeeze in a Toyota Siena van, and 2 mid sized vehicles on the road in front of the residence.
Very responsive owner.
Wouldn't hesitate to return.
This cozy house provided the perfect getaway for our annual girl's weekend. There were four of us and there were plenty of beds for us to spread out on the main level and loft. The deck facing Tomales Bay was our favorite place to hang out and enjoy the view. Parking was limited but we had one car so it wasn't a problem. This was the first time I had booked a house through VRBO and I had lots of questions for the homeowner. She was very helpful and responded quickly. There were so many things to do and see in the Inverness area. We barley scratched the surface! We plan to return and would definitely rent this house again.
We stayed here over a weekend with friends visiting from abroad. The house is easy to access, clean, spacious, comfortable and warm, and a perfect base from which to explore the many delights of the area, which for us was exploring Pt Reyes on foot and by car, kayaking and dining. There is a lovely view of Tomales Bay from the main deck, and a well-equipped kitchen. The place has a feel of a much-loved family getaway home. I give this property a very strong recommendation. I hope to return for another Inverness weekend soon and will not hesitate to make this my first choice.
We had 4 adults and a baby stay here, and we couldn't be more comfortable. It was so nice to be able to do laundry, and there were even toys that my daughter had fun playing with. The location has a gorgeous view, while still being convenient to restaurants and hikes. I would highly recommend staying here.
