Wonderful Xmas family holiday

  • 5 of 5

Just returned from our first family Xmas holiday and 2 week stay at Casa Lorenzo and didn't want to leave. The villa is spacious with plenty of room for everyone and my family of 5. We loved the heated pool which we all used everyday having so much fun in it, my son even learnt to swim whilst we were there and it was also cleaned during our stay. The villa is well equiped for dining in and anyone with children will fully appreciate the use of wifi, sky, dvd's, board games and the Playstaion 3 that my boys took full advantage of in the evenings whilst we sat outside enjoying our beers & cocktails. Great to also have the use of sun lounges by the pool and also upstairs on the roof Terence were you can also enjoy the amazing views. The location for us was great because we do love to explore and walk whist we are away, we would even walk to the amazing beach through the sand dunes trail thats takes around 20 mins but please note you need to be fit to do it. Communication with Lawrence before our holiday was great and Jean who came to change the bedding during our stay was lovely. Our first time away as a family over the Xmas period and we loved it. Wonderful family holiday.

Dirty, Dated and Disgusting

  • 1 of 5

We booked to stay at this villa in April 2015. We looked at pictures and reviews, and found this to be the perfect property for our family of five. Communication before arrival was fine although we were emailed the day before to tell us the pool heating wasn't working and wouldn't be during our stay., but on arrival we found a villa that was far from what we thought we had booked. It was filthy, damaged, and left a lot to be desired. The floors were disgusting, dust was everywhere, sun cream marks all over the furniture, doors broken etc. we went outside and uncovered the pool. It was stagnant, with extremely cloudy water, 100s of dead bugs floating around, and more sand in the bottom than the Sahara desert. The furniture was covered in thick layers of dust, and the bbq area had not been cleaned in years. The sun terrace was unusable. We immediately contacted the owner, who in turn sent around the property manager, who was rude, obnoxious and deemed our concerns irrelevant. With no guarantee of addressing our concerns, we had little option but to move villas. The owner has kept the full booking amount and refuses to offer any refund. Please avoid this villa at all cost.

Owner's Response: The Guests contacted me shortly after arrival, I contacted my property managers, who then swiftly met with the Guests, despite offering to make good any grievances, the Guests adamantly refused, stating that they intended to leave the Villa, the Guests forwarded photographs which they admitted in a later email "were over zealous" there was not a single photograph of the INTERIOR of the Villa, just some ridiculous photographs, of (a) the pool housing cover (b) a ball concealed between the BBQ and Fence (c) the net for cleaning the pool, which had minute particles (d) the base of the Electrics Box, where the leads go into the concrete (e) several photographs of the pool. There were no BROKEN DOORS the pool was clear not CLOUDY or STAGNANT there was no evidence of any SAND at the bottom of the pool, no evidence of hundreds of BUGS, The ROOF TERRACE was not UNUSABLE, maybe they didn't have the intelligence to unlock the door! Rose part of my property team, is NEVER rude or obnoxious, I have never once had any complaints regarding her conduct, only glowing reports. It was clear from Rose's feedback the Guests had no transport, they had a Wheelchair so one of their party had reduced mobility, from their petty grievances, on arriving they had no intention of staying, realising they were not close to Town, then attempted to get a refund, by besmirching the Villa unfairly.

Even better than its reviews

  • 5 of 5

Having read its reviews, we were all looking forward to staying in this villa and now we are back we are hoping to go back soon. You really could move in. I think "quality" is the best way to describe it, including bedding, appliances, mattresses ... It is all up to anyone's standards and I suspect bought new for the villa. We have stayed in many villas over the years where everything seemed to have been unwanted items donated by relatives (grandma's old sofa, uncle's old dinning table) This is not the case here. It is all fantastic including the location (quiet but not in middle of nowhere- we walked a couple of times to bakery Dulce de Leche) with great views from the roof terrace. We have two teenage daughters (both really difficult) and a 12 year old son who didn't fight during the whole holiday. We went to the gorgeous beaches in the morning, late lunch by the pool, dinner in one of the many restaurants in Corralejo and then a DVD or game (we even tried Trivial Pursuit Genius Edition!!!) The Playstation was definitively a hit, specially as there were so many other things to do that kids didn't argue about whose turn it was.

The hardest thing is to choose a film out of the largest collection we have ever seen and to get the kids out of the pool.

The manager Gordon is extremely helpful and friendly.

There is plenty to do in Corralejo and area nearby. We all enjoyed a trip to Isla Los Lobos, Baku and survived a round minigolf on the high street.

I would recommend this villa to anyone without any reservations. Thank you for a fantastic holiday.

Villa from Heaven!!

  • 5 of 5

Myself, husband and two teenage daughters have just arrived back home after staying for two weeks at this nothing but *fabulous* villa! I'd have to say it is the best and most relaxing holiday we have ever experienced due to first and foremost the wonderful pool, fabulous furnishings and mutitude of games, dvd's and facilities provided. Our daughter's spent allot of the holiday extremely happy and content in the lovely sized pool & delighted to have use of a playstation in the bedroom during some evenings.

We were all able to really relax and unwind and having air conditioning if it got a bit hot and humid made a huge difference! There was a huge television and mammoth dvd collection for those evenings when it was just nice to stay in and open a bottle of wine in front of a film . Its a beautiful villa and I will recommend it to anyone I know!

Other Recommendations: I would recommend the Chinese Boat (two) in Corralejo that did an excellent unlimited buffet for just 10 euros! Also 'Tiffany's' (dedicated to Audrey Hepburn) that did a wonderful assortment of full English breakfast & other dishes with a free drink.

Don't miss out on the mega giant delicious pizza available at the cafe (top) within the Atlantica shopping center (Caleta de Fuste ) just 10 euros!!

I'd like to thank Lawrence for creating a perfect peaceful holiday setting, taking great care to ensure all levels of comfort are more than covered. We will definetly be going back!! Also thanks to Gordon and Lorraine (the caretakers of the property) who were extremely friendly, kind and helpful!

A superb villa with excellent amenites

  • 5 of 5

What a superb villa! A huge TV, hundreds of DVD's, a computer with broadband, PS2, private pool and BBQ.

These were just some of the things on offer which made this a memorable holiday for us. Accurately described and well maintained to a very high standard. Specifications such as the leather recliner sofa, the freshwater pool (which was so much nicer/kinder than the usual chlorine ones) and the gorgeous 4 poster bed made it a luxurious stay, and we were sad to leave at the end of our holiday.

It offers excellent value for money!

The villa is located on a small quiet complex which is 10 minutes drive away from the centre of Correlejo and there is an enjoyable 20 minutes walk down the perimetre path to Tiffany's roundabout where there are a couple of bars shops and restaurants.

If you visit Correlejo, you must pay a visit to Fifth Avenue restaurant, where David (the chef from Rochdale) cooks the most fabulous meals! Go and you will not be disappointed. Fantastic steaks and desserts to die for!

Relaxing Family getaway

  • 5 of 5

THE VILLA: We stayed in this villa in July 2008. 2 families, 4 adults and 2 children aged 6 & 8. The villa was superb. Very spacious Private and relaxing on a newly built estate. It had everything you would need for adults and children. We spent most of our time at the villa as everyone was occupied having our own pool, play station, DVDs and internet etc. The property was well maintained and very clean and any problems we had we just called the local carers for the villa who helped us any way they could. I would recommend this villa for all age groups and would recommend it to any friend and family who are considering visiting the island. I would say that it would be in your best interest to hire a car if you have children as the main town was a 45min walk and in the heat its exhausting. You would also save on transfers if you hired a car from the airport.

NIGHTS OUT: The main town isn’t too lively mainly people chilling and having lunch. Don’t get me wrong though if you venture down some of the side streets there are plenty of bars to entertain you. For children I would recommend a pub called 7 pints, they had entertainment every night for the kids (it is sign posted). We enjoyed the rock bar, talk of the town, McCarthy’s and down under. There is also a bar next to down under which had things on for the kids like acrobats and snakes etc.

MEALS: If you are looking for a nice meal the restaurants are just as good as each other we didn’t really have a favourite. The food was really nice. Our takeaway venue was talk of the town although they can be a bit greasy or a place called the American bar. We found this place later on in the holiday, its in the main street at the bottom near the garage. There food was really nice and cheap.

DAYS OUT: Visiting Buka water park was good although we should of stayed for half the day as you didn’t have to que for the slides and we had done them all in a few hours. The quads were excellent we did the 2 hour trek but wished we had done the 4 hour one, even the wife’s loved it.lol. Flag beach was the best beach of them all and worth the visit, beautiful white sands and clear sea, although there is a wind so the sand was blowing a bit but its a beach that’s what you expect. We didn’t like Waikiki beach as there were to many rocks in the sea and you needed shoes on to go in it.

Overall the villa and the holiday was fantastic. we would defiantly go back.

CORRALEJO: With tourism booming on Fuerteventura, Corralejo, situated in the north, is one of the most popular resorts on the island.

More and more apartments are springing up each year to cope with the demand, and Corralejo which was once a small fishing village, has now grown into a lively colourful town.

Luckily, Corralejo has managed to retain its original charm and atmosphere, and there are still white sandy beaches in the town centre, where you can 'drop down' and soak up the Canarian sunshine.

Most of the shops, bars and restaurants are along the Corralejo main street which leads right down through the music square and on to the harbour which looks across the other side of town and the sand dunes.

These dunes (which are a protected nature reserve) lie just beyond the town. The dunes spread for miles along the east coast and this is what makes Corralejo such a popular resort. Corralejo caters for all ages and there's a wide variety of things to do.

Other Activities: watersports, Glass bottom boat trips, Ferry trips to Lanzarote, Jeep Safaris, Island tours, Motorbike tours, Quad Biking,

Golf: 9 hole pitch and putt course at Mirador de Lobos Golf 10 minute walk, holes range from 80 to 110 yards, equipment supplied, golf balls, putter, 9 iron, wedge or sand iron, some holes played over water, well maintained, price including clubs 17€ refreshments available, sitting area, driving range with netting, practice putting green, last rounds 4:30 winter, 5:30 summer, opens 9:30 am.
