This child friendly, three bedroom waterfront cottage is located on the shores of Warner Bay on Lake Huron, one of the more scenic bays on the lake. This cottage is a perfect getaway for both relaxation and outdoor activities within a breathtaking environment.
The cottage is finished in natural tongue and groove pine. A floor to ceiling window in the large living room provides an incredible view of the lake. The living area boasts a cathedral ceiling and a fieldstone fireplace with an air-tight insert, providing added warmth to the cottage on a cool evening. This room also has a two couches, two arm chairs, a new TV, a satellite receiver,DVD, and a stereo system.
Leading off the living area is a galley kitchen, which is well equipped with a new fridge, stove, microwave, kettle, toaster, 2 coffee makers, electric fry pan, electric grill, wok, etc.
The family room has a dining area with seating for six, and a sitting area by the 10' picture window providing a beautiful view of the lake. The couch in this room pulls out into a double bed. This cozy area invites you to enjoy the gorgeous sunsets.
The laundry room has a washer and dryer plus an additional fridge for beverages.
The cottage has three bedrooms; the first has a new queen bed and the second has a double bed. The third has a double loft bed and a single bunk bed.
The bathroom contains a sink, toilet and large shower.
There are four decks on the property. The three lakeside decks are located on the south-west side of the cottage near the flat limestone shoreline. They are the perfect place to sit and have your wake-up coffee in the morning sun. One deck is the ideal spot to watch the kids play in the water or the sandbox as it is only 10 feet from the shore.
The lakeside deck by the cottage sits in the sun and by midday and is a wonderful place to relax, read, and eat your meals while watching the waves roll in. This deck has patio furniture for your relaxation, including a table which seats 6 with a large umbrella for shade.
Lastly, on the roadside of the cottage, in the lee of any winds is a deck offering a more secluded spot to read, BBQ, or just relax. It also is provided with patio furniture for outside dining. This side of the cottage has a large grassy area with lots of room for kids to play. The cottage is set well back from the road and is surrounded by trees providing a very private, quiet setting. The flat shoreline allows for shallow entry into the lake making it a safe place for kids to swim. The lake water is amazingly clear for excellent snorkeling. Three pairs of swim fins are provided to get you started. For more water fun, the cottage comes equipped with three kayaks, a canoe, small surf boards, inflatable tubes, and lifejackets. Swim shoes are recommended. Interested in a leisurely cycle? Four bicycles are here for your enjoyment.
Tobermory is a short distance away ( 10 km ). You can stroll through the shops, visit the library, restaurants and see the beautiful natural harbour. Scenic boat cruises to view shipwrecks and lighthouses are available daily and a trip to Flowerpot Island is a must to all who visit! Dinner cruises aboard the Chi-Cheemaun are also very popular and if thats not to your liking, there are many places to eat in town where you can watch the beautiful sunsets and converse with friends.
Don't forget to try the delectable butter tarts at the Bakery!
For hikers, naturalists and scuba divers, the area is a dream come true. Guided tours along the Niagara Escarpment and the shores of Dorcas Bay on Lake Huron are available a 10-minute drive away. Amphitheater programs presented at Cyprus Lake by Parks Canada staff are informative and entertaining for all ages. The new tower at the National Park's Visitor Centre in Tobermory offers a view of georgian Bay that is a must for any photographer.
