Fully renovated rustic, modern bungalow located on a quiet side street, less than a five minute walk (500 m ) from beautiful Southampton public sand beach. The living room has a stone gas fireplace, with a large bay window, very comfortable sectional with ottoman, 40" flat screen TV with DVD and enhanced cable. The living room, dining room and kitchen are adjoining and open, through a side door, onto a small wooden deck and to an outdoor patio complete with barbeque and cedar picnic table. The backyard is grassed. Next to the living room is a large fuly equipped kitchen, with fridge, stove, microwave oven, and lots of counter and cupboard space with warm wooden cabinets. The dining area has an oak table with six modern chairs on engineered hardwood. A short walk down the hall leads to three bedrooms, Bedroom 1 with a double bed and Bedroom 2 with a queen bed. The third bedroom has a set of single bunkbeds. Also down this hall is a four piece bathroom. There is a set of stacked clothes washer and dryer in Bedroom 3 (the bunkbed room). The cottage is located on a quiet side street. It is about 5 blocks, or less than a five minute walk to one of the nicest public beaches in Bruce County. This beach is ideal for younger children. The beach is gradual entry with a sandy bottom and good swimming. Also along this fabulous beach you will find a historic boardwalk that stretches for about a mile. Bring your beach umbrella (or get a coveted shady spot under the trees) and shovel and join the children building a dream sandcastle. (P.S. Tell the museum if you find another buried shipwreck! The plaque for the General Hunter, believed to be wrecked in 1816 after service in the War of 1812, is just down the beach). There is also a children's playground and a menagerie of benches. The cottage is located in close proximity to a wide variety of activities that Southampton has to offer. Enjoy a short drive to downtown to see the lighthouse and long pier, which is a perfect place for fishing, or to a wonderful fine dining restaurant (don't miss the Elk and Finch!). Southampton is a town known for its "Old Time Charm" you can visit the Bruce County Museum, take one of the daily chartered rides to Chantry Island, take in some of the lovely shops, and enjoy Sunday evening live entertainment at the local band shelter. The Saugeen First Nation Amphitheater, just 2 km away, has one of the most remarkable gardens in southwestern Ontario. Golfing is also nearby - there's the Chippewa course 3 minutes away or the Saugeen Golf course on County Road 3 towards Port Elgin (Sauble and Port Elgin offer up some golf variety).
