Thistle Dew Cottage overflows with relaxed sophistication ideal for a Southampton vacation experience without sacrificing creature comforts and amenities. It is located only two blocks from Southampton’s pristine beaches and world famous sunsets which also means you can easily hear the lake surf on stormy nights. The cedar shingled exterior, warm pine plank floors and many windows throughout add to the charm typical of the saltbox style yet belie the home’s age of under 20 years. Situated in the old town, Thistle Dew Cottage has extensive perennial gardens plus numerous trees and cedar hedges contributing to shade and privacy.
Typically, Southampton has few if any bothersome insects so you can enjoy summer evenings on the back deck complete with patio table, 4 chairs and umbrella. A 3 burner gas BBQ can be found on the deck for the use of guests.
Just two blocks away (under five minutes walking), is the famous Southampton boardwalk and a spectacular light sand beach and fully open to the public and rarely crowded. The water’s edge is sandy in this location and deepens quite gradually. There is a second sandy-bottom beach by Gerry’s Fries just 10 minutes walking from the cottage. This beach also has a sandy bottom and shallow water depth making it ideal for younger children.
