A peaceful location and a private setting - this 1200 square foot, 2 bedroom cottage offers you an escape into nature! Located just 4 km from Dyer's Bay on the Northern Bruce Peninsula, this property is not far from the border of Bruce Peninsula National Park, with it's great hiking trails and the area's stunning natural environment.
The aim of this cottage is to take you away from the distractions in your busy life and give you the opportunity to escape to the peace and quiet. Use it as your retreat from work or as a space to enjoy with the kids and re-connect without all those plugged-in distractions! The cottage is located on a private, 10 acre lot that has meadow space as well as a hardwood bush and an area of old, picturesque apple trees. Drive up the long driveway to the cottage, which isn't visible from the road when the trees are in full foliage.
Pull up, and notice a great front porch where you can enjoy a meal outdoors or hammock-away the afternoon in the fresh air.
Inside the cottage the kitchen has many of the amenities of home, including fridge, stove/oven, microwave and more. A bright window sits over the kitchen sink to draw in light, and the dining table is just adjacent and offers you a place to enjoy a sit-down meal together.
In the living room space there is a comfy couch situated by bright windows that look out to the peaceful lot. A woodstove can keep you toasty in cooler seasons and is the perfect spot to pull up a seat and enjoy a good book. A petit dinette set sits by the large picture window and is a nice spot to play a game of cards or sip your morning coffee. There is no television out in the open, but just in case you should need it to entertain on a rainy day there is a small 12" TV with DVD player that the owners keep tucked away in the cupboard so it's not a temptation but is there if you need it!
The cottage has two bedrooms - one is located on the main level, while the second is upstairs in the loft. The main floor bedroom offers a queen size bed, and there is a three-piece bathroom on this level with a tub (no shower). Up in the loft, there is a bedroom with a queen bed. The loft also has a three-piece bathroom with shower.
Outside the cottage you can get out and enjoy that front porch space. There is a hammock there, along with a patio table and chairs. A picnic table provides additional space for dining outside, and the propane BBQ offers a convenient way to grill up a great meal. There is an outdoor fire pit too, so you can enjoy a family campfire under the stars.
Access to the Bruce Trail is directly in front of the property (out by the roadside), so you can easily join the trail for a great hike. Devil's Monument is a nice hike, as well as a stroll at the top of the Dyer's Bay community, where you can enjoy breathtaking views of the Escarpment. The cottage is located about a half hour drive from the villages of Tobermory and Lion's Head, so get out and explore the Northern Bruce Peninsula!
