The 'Dragonfly Cottage' is located on a quiet cove on Crescent Lake in Raymond Maine.
Just 45 minutes from Portland or 20 minutes from the shops of Windham. You are away from it all but able to get to it all quickly.
Relax with a cup of coffee at sunrise on the dock in the morning or enjoy a good book in the screened in porch at this beautifully restored cottage in Raymond Maine.
The interior decor is light airy cottage chic with a twist of cozy cabin feel. In the kitchen, enjoy a gas antique stove, refrigerator and microwave. Our cupboards are full of dragonfly or themed dishware for your use.
Relax in the hammock or enjoy some time on the stone patio in the wicker patio furniture. This a a great retreat for a romantic get- away or peaceful time away from your hectic lifestyle. Although the cottage would be best enjoyed by a couple looking to get away, it is also very kid friendly with the sleeping loft and the campground only a short stroll away. Here you can get and ice cream treat or play a quick game of air hockey in the game room.
Our dock provides a sandy bottom for great swimming or relaxing in one of our floats. If you looking to get exercise, these can be enjoyed easily by navigating the Tenney River in a kayak or hiking the Rattlesnake Trail.
To summarize your stay at the 'Dragonfly Cottage' would be serene, quiet and convenient and yes, there are dragonflys.
Very convenient access to everything
This was our first trip to Maine and we wanted to be on a Crescent Lake for our son who was enrolled in row camp nearby. Dragon Fly Cottage certainly exceeded our expectations. The cottage is cozy without being cramped, has all of amenities that you need, was clean. It was evident that owners took great pride and care in making Dragon Fly Cottage an easy and charming getaway. The place lived up to its namesake- we enjoyed watching the varieties of dagon flies on the dock. We kayaked on the peaceful and pristine lake, and floating in a tube in the comfortable water. We never saw a mosquito. We came prepared w bug spray and never pulled it out of the bag. The location is a quick trip to Freeport and Portland if you want to do some shopping, though we would have been quite happy w staying in Raymond only. The few restaurants we visited were very good and had offerings for a vegetarian with us. I've already told my sister that she needs to come to Dragon Fly Cottage- what more of an endorsement does one need! A fantastic getaway in a wonderful area. I can't wait to come back😁
Dragonfly Cottage was the perfect respite for our family of four! We wanted peace, quiet, and beauty, and that is exactly what we enjoyed. The kids loved spending sunny mornings on the dock, and in the afternoons we would enjoy the local scenery and other lakes in the area. Dragonfly Cottage was cozy, comfortable, and clean; and it had everything we needed to stay in if we wanted to grill at home and enjoy our meals on the screened porch. The evenings were beautiful and still, except for the loons, which provided a perfect soundtrack - We did not hear a siren for the entire week!
In addition, the neighbors were helpful and kind, as were all of the local business owners in the area.
We didn't encounter any problems, but I know the owner would have responded immediately to any concern.
We loved the area and we were blessed with gorgeous weather - Our vacation could not have been any better!
My husband and I stayed here over the July 4th weekend and had a wonderful time. The cottage has a screened in porch and is cozy and quiet with all you need for a relaxing vacation on the lake. We loved the stone patio with the fire place. We also liked that you can step off the dock onto a sandy area for easy swimming or floating. I put our kayaks in and we paddled around the quiet cove- it was wonderful. If you are looking for a nice cottage on a lovely lake for a Summer vacation, this is definitely a place to consider!
This cottage is lovely and a great vacation get away! I have enjoyed peaceful moments on the dock in the morning enjoying a cup of coffee and watching the sun come up! The lake is serene and beautiful. It is great for taking the kayaks out for a peaceful troll, but also the boat out for water sport fun!
The cottage is cozy and clean. It has a great screened in area to read a book and breath in the great summer breeze in the evening hours.
It is close to the action and ocean in Portland area so you can enjoy a day trip to the city as well for an outing.
If you are looking for a peaceful get away, this is it!
If you enjoy a peaceful morning coffee watching the sunrise from the dock, listening to the sound of the loons, lunch on the patio with summer breezes, or listening to a soft summer rain on the screened-in porch, then Dragonfly is the place to be. I have spent a week there on more than one occasion and find it a little piece of heaven.
We really enjoyed our time at Dragonfly Cottage. From the moment we arrived, at Crescent Lake, we were enchanted by its quiet beauty. Days spent there were so easy and relaxing. The cottage is charmingly outfitted with everything necessary to enjoy a lakeside retreat and always with the theme of dragonflies. We brought our nieces and they loved it too.
I loved waking up in the morning to the sun streaming in from the lake. Coffee and my camera drew me down to the dock for most of the morning. The water is so still that I could see the fish swim by. Then, after a good paddle or swim, we’d enjoy lunch on the patio and make plans for the afternoon’s adventure. If we needed just a few grocery items, we simply walked to the campground store, just up the lake, to buy ice cream, milk (local, in glass bottles), eggs, bread, beer and wine. Every night was a cookout and evenings were spent on the screened in porch facing the lake, lit by a hundred little dragonfly lights and candles as we sipped wine, listened to music, watched a movie or read a good book. Most nights, the loons would sing us to sleep with their hauntingly beautiful song that I will never forget.
Time at Dragonfly is everything you’ve heard about vacationing on a lake in Maine. We left, reluctantly, but relaxed and ready to jump back into our busy life.
