About Ingrid OCallaghan
I am from Ireland and I understand the importance of history. I am proud to own a unique part of a very historical area in France
Ingrid OCallaghan purchased this House in 2002
Why Ingrid OCallaghan chose Vierville-sur-Mer
I was astounded with the rich variety and historical importance of this area after first visit here in 1998 .I was lucky enough to be able to obtain the property here in 2002, and have since loving restored it. There is so much to see and do in the area and surrounding locations, when I and my small children we are never lost for something to do or see.
What makes this House unique
The house is beside Omaha Beach allowing beautiful walks / cycles / drives to all nearby historical areas(American Cemetary, Point Du Hoc, WW II Buildings, Museums, Vinyard's etc). Also close to Bayeaux / Caen for shopping and eating out

Sports & Adventure Activities
We really enjoyed staying here - special time with the D Day celebrations. My father was a WWII at Omaha Beach. Merci!! Thank you Ingrid
Beautiful holiday home
We had a wonderful time in your lovely home. Everything from the location to the peacefulness of the surroundings added to the enjoyment to our stay. The house is comfortable, homey and has all the required amenities needed for the perfect getaway. Would really recommend your place.
Ideal quiet and relaxing location
We had a most enjoyable, educational and relaxing time. The apartment is ideal and very comfortable. Would recommend in a heartbeat
If you like quaint
If you like quaint, you will like this property. The driving instructions I got on line were poor. While the bedrooms were nice, you may not be able to get your suitcases up the spiral staircase. After a day of showers in standing water, I found a plunger and removed a huge glob of hair. Having said all that, our experience at Omaha Beach and Utah Beach and the American Cemetery were amazing.
Les mètres carrés sont là; mais c'est veillot!
Un peu déçu par la caractère vieillot de la décoration; qui allait bien avec l'ancienneté de la maison. Propreté pas impeccable lors de notre arrivée; impossibilité de se connecter à internet via la box live ( le numéro de cette box ne correspont pas ); quelques manques quant aux ustencilles de cuisine;chauffe-eau qui fuit(eau s'evacuait à l'extérieur de façon continue);
Peaceful and Relaxing
We stayed a whole week in this beautiful area in northern France. The home is part of a converted train station, with a nice feeling of privacy and reclusiveness. It is truly walking distance to Omaha Beach and a handful of reasonable bars and restaurants. There is a convenience / grocery store within walking distance. The whole area closes down each day for lunch and after 1700, so pack prepared.
The kitchen is lovely; we spent hours each evening with the windows open and a glass of wine, watching the sheep and cows.
I recommend placing a mirror in each room; there is only one mirror (in the bathroom that was often in use) and only our daughter could use it effectively, as it is so low. Thank you for your diligence in getting the Wi-Fi back up.
Just a short stroll from the main D Day landing site of Omaha Beach, located in the picturesque village of Vierville Sur Mer. You can drive the route of the allies, from Vierville to Arromanche with many stops and sites of importance. There are 2 great museums nearby, and a very beautiful walk along Omaha beach, up the bluff to the American cemetery is recommended. There are many tours of the landing beaches and historical World War II locations and some will even collect from our door. Other Activities: Historical WW II tours, D Day drives, Scenic Walks, Golfing, Boating, Fishing, Cycling, Cider Vineyards, Horse Riding Schools, Shopping, Traditional French Restraint's
