They enjoy traveling outside of Crescent City but always love coming home to their quaint coastal town. It's natural beauty offers many adventurous activities for those choosing to partake!
Bill Guevara and Linda LaMarr purchased this House in 1998
Why Bill Guevara and Linda LaMarr chose Crescent City North
One guest stated, “This is what a VRBO should be. Beautiful place-we so enjoyed having an evening to relax and our morning on Pebble Beach has left us craving for more! This is a place we’d like to come back to. The boys enjoyed their room downstairs-it was wonderful for them to have some space for themselves!” Another guest stated, “Castle Island Getaway-lovely place. More than I expected from the VRBO site. Wish we could have stayed longer to explore the history. Very cozy! Thank you for your hospitality”.

Very nice property with very nice owners who are very generous!
Had a nice grill along with the charcoal, lighter fluid and lighter; very thoughtful to have anticipated usage of the grill👍
Very close to the ocean(1-2 minutes depending on your walking speed)! Nice, quiet neighborhood, yet very close to the Lighthouse and of course the Redwoods. We ventured out(after doing online research on seafood restaurants, and found the SeaQuake brewpub to be the best of them all. Fish and chips had the most amazingly fresh fish, best We have ever had! And the Citra IPA and Breakfast Stout are likewise incredible[we live in the Bend area, and are self-admitted beer snobs]).
Couldn’t recommend this place more highly! Even caught some whale watching down near Klamath!
NOTE: Just got home and since still on vacation, having a rum cocktail while reviewing our stay! So please accept my ramblings!
Cheers, Brost, and Down the Hatch!
A restful wonderful stay in this lovely home! It was exceptionally clean and bright and nicely deco
We were here to see the redwoods and found out about this lovely spot on line.
It’s a block walk to the ocean though you can see it from the living room area!
There’s a nice bench right there to sit and watch the sunset.
The home has all those little touches you need and Linda and William went out of their way to make it special.
Their friendliness and warm welcoming manner added another lovely layer to our stay!
Should we come this way again, we would certainly look them up and see if this was open! We would also tell others about it!!
You won’t be let down.
It was only a 15 minute ride to the park and that was a wonderful bonus as well!
Spacious, well provisioned, clean all made for a great stay. Excellent hosts too.
comfortable and inviting
We stayed at Linda and Bill's Castle Island Getaway for the New Year holiday and it was wonderful and relaxing. The home was just as described and the little details were much appreciated (enough toilet tissue, towels for everyone, extra blankets, soaps, dishwasher detergent, etc.). The kitchen was well stocked with all the implements you would need, and there was even a full spice rack! Very clean and inviting. Because we were there in the winter, portable heaters were placed here and there which heated up the space quickly and efficiently. We had a lot of fun tidepooling and collecting stones on the beach at the end of our lane. We heard sea lions barking on our last night. Linda was so careful to communicate with us before, during, and after our visit. We had a very pleasant and relaxing stay at Castle Island Getaway.
Wonderful experience for our first time it was perfect for the two of us.
The property is well located short walk to the beach, very quiet and no traffic. If you rent a house on the ocean you have a lot of traffic and people walking by we liked the privacy . We could see the ocean from the kitchen window. The kitchen is very nice however we didn't cook we took advantage of the restaurants in town, but did make coffee every morning with the Keurig which had a good variety of coffee and tea. The queen size bed was very comfortable, with plenty of closet space a robe was provided for us nice touch. Bathroom was roomy with a great shower. Comfortable living room and dining area down stairs was another bedroom and laundry and bathroom with a shower. The house is decorated with personal items of the owners we felt very at home. The inside was very clean I liked the fact it is no smoking so didn't have to deal with stale smoke. Short beautiful scenic drive into town. I wish we could have met the owners in person, but had several texts and phone calls making sure we didn't have any issues. We were there two days after Christmas so they were on vacation also😎. We will definitely do it again. Thank you Bill and Linda
Perfect home away from home
This property is in a great location...1 block from the coast (pebble beach), and less than 10 miles from Jedediah Smith Redwoods State Park. The house is perfect for a family of 4. Linda & Bill are great hosts. We had a relaxing time and would highly recommend.
Crescent City is a quaint coastal area that is a short 15 minute drive to the beautiful Redwood National Park & pristine Smith River Recreation Area. We live in an outdoor paradise that offers beachcombing, cycling, fishing, hiking, sailing & surfing.
