Castle Island Getaway is located one half block from the scenic and uncrowded Pebble Beach of Crescent City, California. Our guests stay in an upstairs living area that includes an updated kitchen & bathroom. You'll enjoy views of our wooded acreage, with the sounds of the ocean and local wildlife ever present during the day and night. It's a short walk to the beach access and bicycles are also available for our guests to enjoy a cruise along Pebble Beach and view the wildlife refuge, Castle Island. Or just relax in the quiet peacefulness of our little corner of Del Norte County, 'the Pearl of the Northwest'.
Upon arrival our guests may relax and enjoy beverages with our hosts who can assist with dinner plans and information about things to do and see in our area. We strive to assure our guests make the most of their vacation.
The upstairs living area has a flat screen TV with blue ray player, dining area and fully stocked kitchen for your convenience.
The upstairs bedroom has a queen bed with a pillow top for added comfort. The windows offer views of the wooded acreage, sounds of the ocean and viewing of local wild life. There is ample closet space for extended stays. There is an additional bedroom downstairs with a daybed that converts to two singles and an additional bathroom.
The amazing Redwoods are a year round pleasure in Del Norte County! A short fifteen minute drive east from our beach home brings you to Jedediah Smith Redwoods State Park. The area is also known for the pristine beauty of the famous wild and scenic Smith River gorge. Great for fishing, rafting & swimming.
Our spring and summer activities include biking, hiking, kayaking, sailing, surfing, as well as wild flower and wildlife viewing. Salmon and steelhead fishing is available October through February and whale watching occurs December through March. The arrival of the Aleutian Geese to Castle Island as they migrate north is a spectacular event from February through March. Nature is abundant in Del Norte County all year long and the easy beach access offers our guests the chance to explore tide pools and view spectacular sunsets along Pebble Beach.

About Linda LaMarr
Bill & Linda have lived along Pebble Beach in Crescent City for over 22 years. They continue to be in awe of the beautiful sunsets, exciting winter storms, migration of whales and the great surfing! They enjoy traveling outside of Crescent City but always love coming home to their quaint coastal town. It's natural beauty offers many adventurous activities for those choosing to partake!

Why Linda LaMarr chose Crescent City North
One guest stated, “This is what a VRBO should be. Beautiful place-we so enjoyed having an evening to relax and our morning on Pebble Beach has left us craving for more! This is a place we’d like to come back to. The boys enjoyed their room downstairs-it was wonderful for them to have some space for themselves!” Another guest stated, “Castle Island Getaway-lovely place. More than I expected from the VRBO site. Wish we could have stayed longer to explore the history. Very cozy! Thank you for your hospitality”.
What makes this House unique
To enhance your daytime enjoyment in our coastal town we provide bicycles for cruising along Pebble Beach or fun rides to the lighthouse, pier, harbor and more. For your evening enjoyment at the property there is a barbeque, picnic table and a fire pit to end the day making s’mores or just chillin’ together around a campfire. Also available are folding chairs to take to the beach, river or forest; binoculars; Frisbee; and if needed a movie library to enjoy a quiet night indoors.

Comfortable, convenient, welcoming
Loved staying here. Home was very comfortable and inviting. Beds, linens, towels all were comfortable and clean. Linda and Bill were welcoming, shared local information with us as we inquired. Ocean is viewable from dining room window, and couple seats in the attached living room. Spent most of our time out and about. Wish had another day or two, to take advantage of the bicycles and the fire pit. Walked Pebble Beach several times; stunning! Thank you Linda and Bill, for helping our trip to be outstanding and memorable.
Great Crescent City get-away!
Clean, well appointed, comfy queen bed, awesome location close to Pebble Beach. Hosts very gracious and accommodating. Hope to return soon!
Very Comfortable and Convient
My BFF and I stayed here for a week to enjoy the Redwoods and all the other recreational activities in the Crescent City area. Bill and Linda are the hosts and live next door. They could not have been more helpful. The house is on a dead end street, so there is no traffic noise at all. The house was very clean, which is a priority for me! There was even an empty cupboard in the kitchen for all the food we brought and ate during our stay. We were 5 minutes from a Walmart, which was very nice for groceries and a couple things we forgot. Wednesday and Saturday we enjoyed the local Farmer's Markets. The upstairs of the house has a lovely bedroom and bathroom. The downstairs has a daybed and bathroom with shower as well. I loved the cozy room downstairs and we used the washer and dryer twice. It was great! The beach was right across the street and you could hear the sea lions at night. We hiked miles of trails in redwood forests and being close, so we did not have to drive a long ways was perfect! I highly recommend this lovely home for your next vacation!
Better than I imagined.
House is better than advertised. What you see in the promo is what you will experience, and as a bonus, the owner is a exceptional host!
We enjoyed our stay, and would not hesitate to go back.
Loved our stay
We loved the comfort of home. We were able to visit the redwoods and the beach, best of both worlds! Bill and Linda were very hospitable and made our stay wonderful.
Comfortable & quiet
We had a nice stay at Linda's place. It is in a residential area about 5 minutes drive from downtown and the tourist area along Hwy 101. We took nice walks along Pebble Beach every morning and hiked in the Redwoods every afternoon. Great sunsets. The kitchen is small but very well organized and equipped for cooking breakfasts and evening meals. There is a large Safeway just off 101. Several nice art galleries in town. Linda and Bill live just across the cul-de-sac and were friendly and helpful. It is perfect for a couple or two. We enjoyed it and hope to come back.
Location
Crescent City is a quaint coastal area that is a short 15 minute drive to the beautiful Redwood National Park & pristine Smith River Recreation Area. We live in an outdoor paradise that offers beachcombing, cycling, fishing, hiking, sailing & surfing.
