Farmhouse, 5 Bedrooms, 3 Baths, (Sleeps 10)
As soon as you drive in the driveway and smell the salt air, you start to relax and feel the welcoming embrace of this historical North Chatham house. With five bedrooms and three bathrooms, there is plenty of room for the family to spread out and yet never feel disconnected. With the door and windows overlooking the salt marsh and on to the bay, the kitchen is often the central gathering space to plan the days activities, prepare the evening cocktails or make meals to take out on to the front patio.
Spend your days alternating between reading on the patio and walking to the beach for a swim and some time in the sun, and then back to the patio. It is so peaceful just to watch the birds in the large oak in front of the house and the activity out on the bay. Or rent a boat and go over to the outer beach - find clams on the sandbar or shore at low tide. There's nothing like bringing home fresh seafood for dinner! Or hop on to one of the seal watching boats and spend the day in close proximity to these amazing creatures. Miles of beaches to walk, birds to sight, and shells to gather in between dips in the cool water.
Of course there are plenty of activities in and around Chatham too. Town is five minutes by car or ten on a bike, where there are many shops to browse, and restaurants galore. See great plays at the Monomoy Theatre in the heart of Chatham, or the latest arrival at the brand new movie theatre. Make it a vacation to remember!

A perfect stay in every way
Our family stayed here last week for a multi-generational family get-together. It was absulutely perfect for us! We ranged in age from 55-4 months old, and there was something for everyone. The house was spacious but cozy. With 5 bedrooms there was room enough for everyone to have some privacy. The two living areas and office provided additional space for hanging out and work if necessary (which it was for some of us!). The yard was big and far from any traffic so it was great for the kids to run around in. The beach is an easy walk away, and it was perfect for the kids to splash around in. We also launched kayaks and a long board from there, so plenty of oppourtunities for everyone to enjoy the water. Town is just under two miles away, so you are close enough to enjoy the activities (baseball, shopping, restaurants) if you want to. We also enjoyed a seal watching trip and a drive out to Provincetown and the surrounding dunes. The house was extremely well equipped with kitchen supplies, games, puzzles, beach towels, and pretty much anything else you could want. Wifi was fast and dependable. Communication with the owner was exceptional-she responded quickly to every request. We recommend this property with no reservations and hope to return again soon!
Love this charming Cape Cod Home
My wife and I stayed here in September and loved it! It is remote enough that it provides complete privacy, but close enough to town that you can be there in a few minutes by car or for a good morning walk. It is completely peaceful. We loved watching the many varieties of birds that flit around the yard. The house is charming and cozy and both takes you back in time and provides modern day conveniences. You can tell the home has been well loved over the years. While it was just the two of us, we can definitely see going back with friends or family as there is plenty of room for many more with five private bedrooms. While we did not swim, the beach is about a three minute walk and provides lovely views. We look forward to going back soon!
3 years in a row
My family (husband + 2 kids) have rented this house three years in a row, and love it more each year. Its secluded and quiet, but easy to get to town. We walked down to the small beach at the end of the lane, or played in the large yard if we wanted to stay close to home -- or jumped in the car for a quick jaunt to another beach.
The house is extremely comfortable, with just the right amount of updating in bathrooms and the kitchen, but keeping the charm of the delightful house, living room and study intact. The wireless is great - we had some work to do in the evenings, and sat together in the study -- it was so nice we almost didn't mind working on vacation!
My kids love coming back to this house - they remember watching the birds and the rabbits that tend to appear in the afternoon, and also are the biggest fans of the outdoor shower.
This is truly the perfect Cape house, and the best part is you know you are on the Cape, not in a soulless house that could be dropped down anywhere.
Perfect for a getaway!
My family and friends had a wonderful time staying at this house! There was plenty of space to sleep everyone comfortably both inside and out. The owners were very friendly and so accommodating, especially on the short notice we provided.
There is a HUGE yard which was great for enjoying the afternoon sun, playing soccer, or relaxing with the birds. There's a view of the beach, which is only a short walk to, from the yard.
I can't express how nice it was to share this space. What a wonderful home that has a true Cape Cod flair!
I would recommend this space to anyone!
Classic Cape Cod Getaway!!
We were fortunate enough to host a large family gathering at Sarah's wonderful property in September. When we arrived the property was very clean and the yard well taken care of. The kitchen was well stocked with all the tools we needed to entertain. The home has been so well maintained that only the living room hardwood floorboards and hand forged nails indicate the real age of the home. The ocean views and breezes that flow through the kitchen are delightful and the back patio is great for afternoon cocktails in the sun. We look forward to making this an annual affair and would recommend other families looking for a true Cape Cod experience book this home.
My husband and I spent last Thanksgiving in this wonderful old Cape setting with some of our children and grandchildren - cooking good food, playing games in front of the fire, talking, walking the wintry beach. This lovely family holiday reminded me that I should also review an earlier time I spent at this property with my two sisters and our husbands. It was something of an experiment for us, adding our husbands to our annual "sister reunion," and this property proved perfect for the event. Three bedrooms with private baths that perfectly met our needs as well as appropriate "entertainment" for our variety of interests. One husband visited the fresh fish monger each day to select what he would cook for us that night; another enjoyed daily runs along the country roads that surround this place; and the third who loves the sea enjoyed spending time walking on the beach just below the house. The setting provided space for us to be quiet and alone (to read, nap, whatever) as well as common space to talk, play games, do projects. The setting is perfect for such a couples get-away. The house is, as advertised, charming but also one in which you can relax and put your feet up. I highly recommend it!
great for birdwatching, miles of beaches nearby for sightseeing, seal watching, rock/shell collecting, bike path
