Incredible location ! With great ocean views and a big pool, we are only one block from the fully stocked market/deli and restaurant /bar and public beach. This classic beach cottage sleeps 11 in beds. There is also a converted garage that serves as a game room/ hangout. You can walk to shopping and beach and never get in your car!
In 2015 we renovated the kitchen with a new floor, granite counter tops and refinished cabinets. New cookware. Replaced the sofa, put in new deck furniture and a new Air Conditioning system. New paint. Landscaping around the pool. All of the pictures are current. For 2016, we have installed new sliders on the front of the house and painted. We have a clean and well maintained property for your vacation.
This house is walking distance to the public beach, market and restaurant! You don't have to get in your car to do anything, its all nearby! There are not many places in Sandbridge that can say that.
. We have Wi-fi . 5 bedrooms, 2 1/2 baths
Sandbridge is a quiet little beach neighborhood several miles south of the Virginia Beach strip just to the north of the North Carolina line. Sandbridge is sometimes referred to as 'the Outer Banks of Virginia'. We have 5 bedrooms, and sleep 11 people comfortably in beds. There is a set of bunk beds in the game room, but we do not advertise it as a regular sleeping area. The game room is a detached garage that has been converted to its own space with a ping pong table, fridge, bunk beds, and flat screen Smart TV. Bring your XBox or video games and hook up to the TV. Kids love it as a getaway from the parents, but we don't recommend this as a sleeping area. It does not have a bathroom or closet
We widened the driveway which was a problem in past years. Ample parking! Since there is no on street parking this has really made parking easier.
This house is semi-oceanfront, with views and sounds of the ocean. We are one row back from the first line of Oceanfront homes. The beach is really close and we actually are on the dunes and have a dune in our front yard. The large pool is on the other side of the house and gets great afternoon sun.
We are only one block from the public beach where lifeguards are on duty in the summer months. If you have small children this is a big plus. The street in front is generally for local traffic and has very little traffic, even in the peak of summer. Beach access is right across this sleepy little road.
You can walk down this little street about a block or so to the local market for morning coffee, fresh doughnuts and the newspaper. You can watch the sunrise from the front deck while the others sleep and look forward to another sunny day at the beach. In the evenings, some of our guests like to enjoy cocktails on the front deck looking out over the ocean.
Next to the fully stocked market and deli is a wonderful restaurant with ocean views and excellent food. In the evenings it is fun to walk from the restaurant over to the yogurt shop for dessert before walking home. If you don't like getting in your car to go everywhere you don't have to.
There are other restaurants a few minutes drive away. The Baja rocks with live music most nights in the summertime.
Back Bay Wildlife Refuge is just a few minutes south and you sometimes see wild horses and pigs and other wildlife year-round.
If you want to cook there is a fully stocked kitchen, a gas grill on the front deck with ocean views and large areas for dining either inside or on the front or back decks.
Hell's Point Golf Course is about 5 minutes up the road and is consistently ranked in the top 100 of all public courses in the country. Tennis courts and playgrounds and a fishing pier are another 5 minutes in the other direction.
The close proximity to the beach, neighborhood center and public facilities mean you don't need to get in your car for days at a time..
... If you want more action you are only a few minutes drive to great shopping, restaurants, the nightlife of the resort strip of Virginia Beach or another hour or so to Colonial Williamsburg, Busch Gardens and Water Country.
Sandbridge is surrounded by the Back Bay National Wildlife Refuge and as a result there is no through traffic. All traffic headed for Sandbridge is going only to Sandbridge. This remoteness is part of the charm of this fabulous little beach. It is out of the way but still very accessible to everything.
You can expect a relaxing vacation on an uncrowded beach right in front of this well appointed home......Give us a call or email us for more details and rental information if you have more questions about the house or Sandbridge Beach. We look forward to hearing from you.

Location location location! Close to market and public beach. And a great house at a great price. Views of Ocean, awesome beach, big pool, hot tub, sleeping for 11 and parking. Pet friendly!!!
Private Pool & Hot Tub, Recreation Room, Walking distance to Restaurants, Market, Public beach with lifeguards, Shopping, Ice Cream & Yogurt Shop, surfing, beach in front of house.
The house was great. The pictures really don't do it justice. The pool and hot tub was such a wonderful addition to the experience. For my family the open-air kitchen and livingroom was the most enjoyable. We could cook and socialize and play games together all in the same vicinity. The location was perfect. We enjoyed long walks along the road and also along the beach in the mornings. The view was exactly as promised. We could open the curtains and watch the sunrise right from our living areas and the front deck. Our vacation experience was more than expected and we would certainly recommend this home and consider renting it again in the future.
My husband and I have stayed here three times. We always have a great vacation and are close to the beach but also when the beach becomes too hot or uncomfortable from winds then we retreat to the pool! I always say it is the best of both worlds. We have had vacations where the wind was not too bad and we were able to have lunch on the beach and other vacations here that the wind was too strong for that lunch on the beach. That is when we have lunch/drinks poolside! The property is in a nice area of Sandbridge. We travel with our dog and it is absolutely perfect for us. Having the ability to rent an entire house and bring your dog with you on your vacation is priceless. I loved all of the new updates! Especially the granite countertop. I was saddened that a previous renter had scratched the new pergo flooring in the kitchen. It looks like someone was lazy and dragged their cooler across the floor. If everyone would just respect these properties like they were their own then everything would stay nicer longer.
I really enjoyed the new Harris Teeter store on the way into Sandbridge (located by the Food Lion) We also visit the local shop within walking distance of the house. This was our first time we had a couple days of bad weather (Tropical Storm Hermine) We had a few breakers pop and had to call the owner for help and our call was answered immediately. The issue was resolved very quickly. I always liked the sign in your kitchen that says "Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass, it is about learning to dance in the rain" I bought some beautiful flowers at Harris Teeter and we danced in the rain! :) Thank You again for another wonderful dog friendly vacation! We are definitely coming back. I miss it already. I would not recommend this property for girls getaways that want champaign trips on chopped sirloin budgets because we tend to get bitchy when things are not perfect. Most girls getaways need to book themselves at a ritz carlton or equivalent and then they can get waited on hand and foot and have drinks with a cabana boy delivering them. That is in response to a girls getaway review that I read on here. LOL! We brought our bikes & rode them down to the pier one evening. I photographed an amazing sunrise and a couple sunsets during our stay. We also watched the dolphin while we were on the beach. A couple of times they even jumped out of the water. This property has a very convenient location, near the main road and close beach access.
We really enjoyed our week vacation in Sandbridge. This home needed some updates, including new patio furniture for front deck and comfortable living room furniture with more than one couch. We were quite happy with the location, quiet and laid-back. It was an easy walk across the street to play in the ocean. We enjoyed the pool every day and the hot tub was relaxing in the evening hours. Being three-four houses from the corner store and beachy restaurant was very convenient. This house needs a little TLC, but we really enjoyed the location and our time in Virginia Beach.
Overall this place is very nice, kitchen is stocked with anything you can need/want (only thing I'd say is need more forks) Plenty of sleeping and bedroom/bathroom set up is nice. Added game room/hang out area is a bonus.
Having a pool and hot tub makes it super nice to be hanging out in evenings or if you want to just cool off in fresh water.
Some of the negatives:
there are a few things that need fixed and/or replaced, although minor it would have been nice to have everything up to date. (deck table needs replaced, a few chairs by the pool need replaced, the toaster is hit or miss (sometimes it works sometimes it didn't)
Other than that - I think the cleaning person needs to put a little more time and effort in to the cleaning, I know there are things that the renters are to do, but I can tell you it was cleaner when we left then when we got there.
The last thing would be living room area needs more comfortable seating, 1 couch isn't enough for a house that sleeps this many. Somehow need to figure out how to get another couch and recliners in that area.
But overall, highly recommended and definitely would rent this place again.
The house was really amazing. When we arrived the house, pool, and hot tub, were all very clean. The game room was a very nice addition with the extra beds, ping-pong table, flat screen, and room for everyone (it is separated from the house). The kitchen has plenty of plates, silverware, cups, and dishes for everyone. Everything in the kitchen worked great. The grill seemed to be a little old, but worked well all week for grilling. We did not have great weather the whole week, but having the pool and hot tub were perfect for rainy days and at night. The location is great as well, it is right near two beach entrances right across the street. The beach was pretty quiet all week, partly due to how early we were there and the weather, but it is a great beach with lifeguards as well. The owner was also very helpful with a small issue we ran into and in setting up the reservation.
I would definitely recommend renting this house, we had an awesome time.
The location of Placebo was fine. Easy access to beach and easy to find. The.kitchen was ok.I would not recommend this property for several reasons. First, we had the option of letting the cable repair person in and installing new cable boxes or not having cable at all. Hmmmm. We chose to use our 2 1/2 hours supervising the repair person. The hot water heater was checked out and deemed reliable and in working order. The plumber did adjust the water temperature which helped but if 13 people were in the house hot water would have been a precious commodity. The hot water heater was over 10 years old.I told Heather, the cleaning lady about trash in the yard. She never returned to clean up so I did. Since I didn't take photos of the trash in place and in the bags the owner did not believe me. The sheets were awful on our bed; Heather did give us a replacement set.The deck chair was not fit to be used. The ceiling fans were very dusty. The downstairs sliding glass doors were difficult to open and close. They led out to the pool/ hot tub area.I would not be surprised if the owner in his rebuttal mentions the weather as a source our discontent. This would be wrong. His secretary is nice but if you have to talk /deal with the owner he isn't . Do not stay here.
Great location! Easy to find and right next to public beach access. A convenience store one block away with all the essentials. The house was exactly what we needed! Three grown children and a set of grandparents were all very comfortable. Nice and clean! Loved the hot tub!! The owner was great and very responsive!! His personal attention was above and beyond! Very reasonably priced! The winter season kept the pool off limits but we stayed inside and visited with family most of the time anyway. Met or exceeded all of our needs with lots of extras! Definitely recommend.
