Bright Downtown Cottage

Bedrooms 3
Property type house
Minimum Stay 3 nights

About the property

House, 2 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 1 Bath (Sleeps 7-8)

This single-story extra large 3 bedroom (2 bedroom, plus one smaller office/room with dbl. bed), 1 bath home is nestled under tall pines on the corner of a quite neighborhood in the Garden District of CDA. Located only 4 blocks away from the heart of downtown Coeur d'Alene and Sherman Avenue, where you'll find restaurants, shops, bars, the lake, the beautiful local resort and more!

Our cozy home has an old-fashioned, country feel to it with its high ceilings, original wood floors, large front porch, and bright, open windows on all sides. The interior has been remodeled and equipped with new beds and furniture and has is filled with warm colors to make you feel right at home. With two queen beds, one double bed and a queen sofa sleeper; the house accommodates 7 people comfortably (8 with small children). The large kitchen is stocked with all the essentials to make you feel right at home and the indoor laundry room and private fenced back yard are a great bonus!

Why the Owner Chose Coeur d'Alene: Our daughter and son-in-law have a home down the street and we travel to Coeur d'Alene often. Having a home in the area is convenient and we rent it out for CDA vistors who'd like a more comfortable stay where they can be close to family and friends, without the hassles of a Hotel. We hope to retire in Coeur d'Alene and eventually call our house 'home.'

The Unique Benefits at this House:

It's in a nice family neighborhood, close to everything and the shady corner is great during the hot summer season. The house has an older, rustic feel to it with a new, upgraded interior that is warm and comfortable so everyone feels at home.

Cozy house and great location!

  • 4 of 5

We stayed long term in this house while we were selling in another state and buying a new home in the area. Lauren's communication is excellent and she was wonderful to work with. The house is cute and cozy and had everything we needed for comfortable living. The location is fantastic, with super easy access to trails on Tubbs Hill and all the fabulous shopping and dining downtown CDA has to offer. If you are looking for luxury, this isn't your house. It's an older home, which means smaller bedrooms, but also wonderful charm and character. The HUGE tub in the bathroom is bonus, too. We really enjoyed our stay.

Owner's Response: Hi! So sorry to hear that heater wasn’t working as expected. We were never told and it usually works amazing! The renters that just arrived notified us and we are having it fixed tomorrow. Wish we could have had the opportunity to make your stay more comfortable. Thank you for being such a great tenant and we appreciate the feedback. -Lauren

Not so good

  • 1 of 5

The yard and surroundings were a mess. Broken walk way made it impossible to walk on. The grass was dead front and back yard. The garage in the back yard was a total eyesore with peeling paint everywhere. The living room windows looked out to the house next door with its molding tile roof and several cars and an overgrown plants with old tires thrown in. The bedrooms were very dark and felt dingy and the wood floors were peeling. Floor coverings were soiled. We could not stay there.

Old, dirty and expensive.

  • 2 of 5

The home was old, dirty and extremely expensive. The yard was dirt - no lawn - and not usable for outdoor activities. This ranks as our worst VRBO stay.

A perfect getaway!

Loved the location! Close to downtown & the beach. Loved the front porch! Every morning enjoyed coffee on the porch and evening wine on the porch! And we all fell in love with Charlie the cat. Thankyou for sharing your cute little house with us!
