Clean, private, nicely updated and well-stocked home. Owners very friendly and check-in and check-out could not have been easier. Highly recommended base camp for Custer, Wind Cave, Mt. R, Badlands, etc.

Wonderful Family Vacation

  • 5 of 5

This home was clean, comfortable, and well-equipped! The owners were SO nice and had plenty of information for us about the area and local attractions. The location was ideal - it was a very quiet and peaceful place to come home to each evening after the day's activities and sight-seeing (stargazers will love it!). We hit all of the big attractions - Rushmore, Crazyhorse, Badlands, Blackhills, Deadwood, and one of the caves. This corner of South Dakota also has lots of activities like horseback riding, ATV trails, and ziplining... something for everyone!

Fantastic home in the Black Hills!

  • 5 of 5

This home was just what we were looking for our stay in the Black Hills area. The home is exactly as described and as the photos represent. It was clean and comfortable for our family of 5 with three teenagers (our teens give it 2 thumbs up for the excellent wifi!).

The location was perfect as we explored Mt. Rushmore, Wind and Jewel caves, Custer State Park, and the nearby Black Elk Wilderness. Highly recommend a hike up nearby Harney Peak - highest point in South Dakota.

We enjoyed sitting on the deck in the evenings enjoying the peace and quiet watching the deer pass through. Tom was a wonderful host who had many helpful suggestions on travel directions and things to do.

I highly recommend this property to anyone visiting the Black Hills area.

Extremely clean, private home!

  • 5 of 5

My family of 4 had a wonderful time staying at this home. We enjoyed the privacy the home offered us while still being able to easily access all the main attractions like Mt. Rushmore, Custer State Park, Hill City, Rapid City, Hot Springs, and more! The house was extremely clean, well decorated, and the kitchen was well equipped! The owners just live down the road and are really nice and helpful! I would highly recommend this home!

Where do you live?

Beautiful home with all the amenities - perfect location!

  • 5 of 5

What a perfect place to stay - very close to Custer State Park, Rushmore, yet far enough away to enjoy the open surrounding beauty. This home had every amenity you could need, and the greeting with warm, fresh-baked cookies was the best. Carol and Tom are the perfect hosts and know the area well. We were provided with directions to a "back" way into the park and that is where we found a large herd of Bison hanging out. It was a beautiful drive on Iron Mountain Road. We will come back and stay here again for sure. A bonus: This home sits among other ranches so there is a lot of wildlife around. In fact, a deer trail is on this property. We saw many deer each night as we sat on the deck taking in the beauty of our surroundings, the stars and moon, all of the different animal sounds at night, and a good bottle of wine. Perfection!
