We chose the vacation home because it is driving distance from our home and it is easy to get to. With 600 feet of shoreline we have plenty of privacy. We also love the lake and the Alexandria area with the sparkling snow in the winter and it is very close to Andes Ski Resort. In the spring/summer the area offers many activities besides golfing, water skiing and fishing. If the weather is not great for water sports or golf we enjoy all the shops in Alexandria including many antique shops. In the fall the trees are beautiful with the color changes and the area is also great for fall fishing and hunting. The Long Lake Hunting Lodge is just out of Brandon, MN, just a few miles from the lake home. These are just a few of the reasons we chose the Alexandria area.
We enjoy walking around the large yard in the morning while sipping our coffee or sitting on the patio enjoying the view of the lake. The lake views from inside the lake home are awesome from most every room in the home. The golf course is two miles down the road and that makes it convenient for the days we want to golf. The golf course also offers breakfast and lunch if you want a break from cooking. We love to water ski, jet ski, tube and fish on the lake. Another highlight is watching and listening to the loons. There are also some bald eagles that frequent the sky and loons on the lake. There are also many more lakes in the area to check out if one desires.
This was our second time renting the property because we enjoyed it so incredibly much last year. The house is huge and lovely and the gorgeous lawn/property goes on and on - you never see or hear a neighbor. The lake is pristine and great for swimming right off the end of the dock or just a short boat-ride across the lake at the amazing sandy beach - nice and shallow for the little kids, yet deep enough for the adults to have a great time in the water. Fishing was great off both of the two docks on the extensive lake shore, or throughout the lake. Would definitely recommend this property!
This vacation home truly exceeded our expectations! The pictures on the site can't possibly do justice to how beautiful and spacious it is. We knew going into it that it would be beautiful and well-stocked with all we needed, but we were even more pleasantly surprised upon arrival. The house keeps going on and on in size, with more and more beautiful and fun decor. There are gorgeous views of the lake from throughout the house and the back lawn; and that lawn is even far more extensive than in the pictures. It seems that there must be almost 10 acres of land? You are truly on your own, largest private retreat on the entire lake, and aren't even aware if there are neighbors anywhere in area. The water is pristine, the fishing is great and the swimming is great for kids right off the dock or across the lake at the gorgeous sand beach. That beach is only a moment across the small lake; it has a wonderful hard sand bottom that is wonderfully shallow for small kids and tossing a football, yet deep enough for swimming and floating; and it adjoins on the other side of the park to the next lake! You truly have your choice of lakeside and beaches, depending the sun, wind, and time of day. We loved it! The house if fully stocked with all you could want and even things you wouldn't have expected, like an extra ice maker and a gas fish grill. The owners were top notch, professional, and went above and beyond to coordinate with us throughout the process. We highly recommend this home and hope it can be our vacation place for many years to come!
the home is very well described in the listing, in fact it was actually better than described. we had a family of 14 and there was more than enough room. the home was clean and very livable. the owner was a very good host. she gave a tour of the home the day that we arrived. there was many activities nearby to keep you busy. we definitely would stay here again.
Our family spent a four-day weekend at this beautiful lake home. The owners greeted us at check-in and gave us a tour of their home and property. There were 14 of us that stayed a couple of the nights and we had more room than we needed. The young adults in the group enjoyed the volleyball net, fishing, the Bon fire and even a little swimming. The home came well equipped with dishes, appliances and refrigerator space to feed the large group. My 21 year-old son commented, "This is the best place we've rented yet.". We would definitely consider coming back.
The home was everything we had hoped for or wanted. We had our three daughters and their families spend the week with us. So with 8 adults and 8 grandchildren we as the grandparents survived quite nicely as everyone had their space. The grandkids spent the whole week practically fishing, tubing and skiing. The home was spotless and well taken care of. The lake was fairly small and private but perfect for the water sports. We would recommend the home for family gatherings or friends looking for a place to hang out and connect. The owners were easy to work with and accommodating. Can't say enough good things about the place
A group of my friends and I rented this place for a long weekend. The house was fantastic and is located on a large, park like, lot. The house was very clean and well kept with plenty of space to congregate or spread out as wanted/needed. In addition the property also came with everything, at least in our opinion, that you could want to relax and enjoy your vacation, such as a grill, fire pit, fish cleaning table, utensils, pots and pans, wood pile, etc... I would highly recommend this place to any of my friends or family.
