This 550 sq. ft. one bedroom, newly remodeled alley house sleeps up to 4 comfortably. A full sized, well equipped kitchen and washer dryer in the house will make your stay very comfortable and complete. You'll love the original long leaf pine floors. Sleeping arrangements are a queen pillow top mattress in the bedroom and the Lazy-boy sleeper sofa in the living room. The brand new, super quiet AC will make you hate to leave the house, but you'll want to visit all of the close by attractions that Galveston has to offer. All the comforts of home, but only a short, 4 block walk to the beach.
More pictures coming. The cottage sits behind the main house. The main house's remodeling has finally started.
Parking is along side of the cottage, enough room for 2 cars.
Winter Texans are most welcome.

Comfortable and ample room for two adults. Close to beach and historic district. Great kitchen.
We enjoyed our stay immensely. This recently restored alley house is everything advertised, and more. It is clean and well maintained. The kitchen is well-stocked with everything you'll need to cook, with high quality pots, pans, dishes and glasses. The bathroom is nicely done, with a great tiled shower. The bed is comfortable, which we really appreciate. The location is perfect, in the old, historic part of the east end. It's four blocks from the beach, three blocks from the Bishop's Palace, and for exercise-walkers, the Strand or Pleasure Pier are only 20 minutes away. I will certainly be recommending this property to my friends who travel to Galveston.
Everything about our recent trip to Galveston was a delight -- especially our accommodations.
The Kottage on K is the intersection of modern convenience and historical charm. The owners have not overlooked a single detail in the way they've restored this property and prepared it as a vacation rental. Hardwood floors, high ceilings, pocket doors, lap siding, hex-tiles, transom windows....you'll appreciate the 19th Century vibe these features evoke. But you'll enjoy being spoiled by bright fresh paint, modern lighting, totally SILENT air-conditioning, gleaming modern kitchen appliances, high-quality linens and spotless housekeeping.
You'll also appreciate small touches like: a fully stocked kitchen, laundry supplies, beach towels, coffee & tea and great communication from the owner/managers, Bruce & David.
With easy access to town and beach, the Kottage is an ideal home-base for your next visit to Galveston.
We recommend this property highly and will certainly stay here again!
We enjoyed a great mini-vacation at Kottage on K. The pictures don't do justice to the remodeled interior, and it was more spacious than I had anticipated. It was a bit hard to find at first and there wasn't much space to relax outside, but we were so close to everything that it really didn't matter. The neighborhood was nice and quiet, too.
We desired to be near the Medical School which is on the east end of island. Love the history of the little house! It had all the amenities needed to stay for a while. The air conditioners were nice and cool. The hideaway sofa was not too comfortable and could use a blanket, but main bed was comfy. I wish there had been a TV in the main bedroom for viewing at night. I loved that we could walk to beach and Broadway.
Thanks for a really nice stay!
Our cottage is a short walk to the beach, and a short drive to the Galveston Pleasure Pier, the Strand, Moody Gardens, and the museums and restaurants at Fisherman's Wharf. We love the fresh seafood, especially the gumbo, and the walks along the seawall mornings and evenings.
