Beautiful home..wifi could be better

  • 5 of 5

Beautiful home..it has everything you could possibly need. Beds were comfortable and ther is plenty of.room. Kitchen is fantastic. Great views of the lake. Only problem is wifi.is week and being so.close.to c anada caused cell.phones to ping off Canadian towers causing usage of Canadian rates. Strongly suggest contacting your phone carrier prior to checking.in. location was a bit too far out.for what we needed but if you plan to go to new york.or c anada it is the perfect spot. Other than that the place.was great. Would.definately recommend it

Good and bad

  • 4 of 5

Evolve gets a ZERO star rating! They were aware of a problem (no hot water) the week before we left and never contacted us. They also didn't call me back when we were in the middle of attempting to resolve the problem. Their customer service is very poor. I will avoid renting from EVOLVE in the future.

The caretakers Mary and Roger get a 100 star rating (on a scale of 1-5). They went above and beyond to make us as comfortable as possible. I honestly have never met kinder people. I would rent the house again just to visit them.

The owners did refund part of our rental but in all honesty it should have been more.

The house is roomy, clean, well stocked and quiet. Not much to do in the area without a long drive. Fishing from the shore was good but would like to see trees removed for better access to the water. A fire pit would be a good addition too. All of the locals were very kind. I do recommend the property now that the hot water heater has been fixed but it was extremely inconvenient to have a plumber in the house for three days of our vacation.

Nice House, well stocked, good trip!

  • 3 of 5

Our stay was a guys ice fishing weekend. We planned on 12 people, but in the end only 7 ended up making the trip. We had plenty of room for the amount of people we had. I think 12 would have been too much, but we could have probably have made it work with 10. Keep in mind it was all guys and we don't share beds. The house was easy to find, had plenty of parking and is set on a nice piece of property. Inside the house is very nice. The kitchen is well equipped. There were three things that I feel need to be improved. The first one is a must. I read reviews about a sewage odor and thought it was an issue with their septic system in the summer. The issue is their well water. It stinks! The small is awful and absolutely needs to be fixed. It seems to be worse with cold water. We had to to take very hot showers to stand the smell. I would not brush my teeth with the water,. We went to the store to buy bottle water to use. The second issue is the lighting over the main table. We tried to play cards at night and the light is way too dim. We had to bring in other lights in order to be able to see the cards. The third issue is that there is no TV outside the master bedroom on the first floor. There is a TV room in the basement, but it would have been nice to have one in the area we were all hanging out. The fourth and final issue was the that the bathroom on the second floor would not flush anything solid, including just toilet paper. Thankfully we found this out early. The house is really nice and its a shame it had these 4 issues. The water must be treated.

Fantastic house with beautiful views! So peaceful and cozy!

  • 5 of 5

Rented this house with a group of friends to enjoy some of the Fall foliage around Lake Champlain and visit some breweries in Northern VT. The house was clean, comfortable, and cozy. The kitchen had everything we needed, the living room/dining room was awesome to enjoy dinner and drinks, and the full length porch offered a comfortable seat to enjoy the sunrise with a cup of coffee. All the rooms and beds were comfortable and the bathrooms clean. I would recommend this house to anyone looking to visit the area with family or friends!
