Rented this house with a group of friends to enjoy some of the Fall foliage around Lake Champlain and visit some breweries in Northern VT. The house was clean, comfortable, and cozy. The kitchen had everything we needed, the living room/dining room was awesome to enjoy dinner and drinks, and the full length porch offered a comfortable seat to enjoy the sunrise with a cup of coffee. All the rooms and beds were comfortable and the bathrooms clean. I would recommend this house to anyone looking to visit the area with family or friends!
Beautiful place. It looks like it was just built yesterday. The back yard is large enough to play an NFL game in, and at the end of that is the lake. We stayed in town for a wedding with several family members and this place was perfect for us. We cleaned up at the end of our stay, but then a 2-person crew came in afterwards for a deep cleaning. This made our stay more enjoyable as we were rushing to get home. We would definitely recommend it to friends who are looking for a place in the area.
House was nice, clean. Great location and friendly house caregiver, Mary. However, WiFi did not work, televisions did not work, no cell signal, no phones, no wood for fireplace, no thermostats to adjust heat or Air, furniture was worn out, beds horribly uncomfortable, and worst thing of all was the overwhelming odor of sewage coming though a locked door in downstairs. Garbage disposal smelled bad and the whole downstairs smelled like a basement with a sewage problem. It was a real shame because house had tons of potential. But needs some serious attention.
This house is lovely and large and very clean. Previous reviews complained about the musty smell downstairs, but I am particularly sensitive to smells like that and this didn't bother me. Yes, it's slightly musty - but it is a lake house and that is to be expected. This house is in a pretty remote location, if that's what you're looking for, then you will love it. It's about 45 minutes to Burlington and 45 minutes to Montreal, which I highly recommend both. Also, I'm so glad a previous reviewer mentioned the Ausable Chasm. It's about an hour drive South and well worth it if you are into that sort of thing. We loved it. You will need river shoes on the lake - there's heavy seaweed, which creeped me out, but my kids didn't seem to care and played in the water. We too the boats out - the kayak was awesome, but the current was so strong that the canoe was a bit more challenging (to be expected). There's a great selection of books and board games to keep yourselves busy - and I can say that this would be a great retreat for several families, if you're looking for a remote spot.
We had a great time at the home. Lake access with kayaks and a canoe. The house was clean and we'll equipped.
Wonderful 4 bedroom home on Lake Champlain with all the amenities. Great for a family vacation with 3 generations. Enormous back yard for running around and outdoor games. Home provides 2 kayaks and a canoe so did some boating and fishing at the home. Nearby state park provided swimming access to the lake. Montreal and Burlington are just an hour away and so spent one day in each.
