Our stay was a guys ice fishing weekend. We planned on 12 people, but in the end only 7 ended up making the trip. We had plenty of room for the amount of people we had. I think 12 would have been too much, but we could have probably have made it work with 10. Keep in mind it was all guys and we don't share beds. The house was easy to find, had plenty of parking and is set on a nice piece of property. Inside the house is very nice. The kitchen is well equipped. There were three things that I feel need to be improved. The first one is a must. I read reviews about a sewage odor and thought it was an issue with their septic system in the summer. The issue is their well water. It stinks! The small is awful and absolutely needs to be fixed. It seems to be worse with cold water. We had to to take very hot showers to stand the smell. I would not brush my teeth with the water,. We went to the store to buy bottle water to use. The second issue is the lighting over the main table. We tried to play cards at night and the light is way too dim. We had to bring in other lights in order to be able to see the cards. The third issue is that there is no TV outside the master bedroom on the first floor. There is a TV room in the basement, but it would have been nice to have one in the area we were all hanging out. The fourth and final issue was the that the bathroom on the second floor would not flush anything solid, including just toilet paper. Thankfully we found this out early. The house is really nice and its a shame it had these 4 issues. The water must be treated.
Beautiful clean home that fit all of our needs. Roger and Mary are awesome people made our stay amazing.
We rented this house with two other families over new year's eve and we had a great time. Kitchen was fully equipped, house was very comfortable and clean. We definitely recommend this place!
Rented this house with a group of friends to enjoy some of the Fall foliage around Lake Champlain and visit some breweries in Northern VT. The house was clean, comfortable, and cozy. The kitchen had everything we needed, the living room/dining room was awesome to enjoy dinner and drinks, and the full length porch offered a comfortable seat to enjoy the sunrise with a cup of coffee. All the rooms and beds were comfortable and the bathrooms clean. I would recommend this house to anyone looking to visit the area with family or friends!
Beautiful place. It looks like it was just built yesterday. The back yard is large enough to play an NFL game in, and at the end of that is the lake. We stayed in town for a wedding with several family members and this place was perfect for us. We cleaned up at the end of our stay, but then a 2-person crew came in afterwards for a deep cleaning. This made our stay more enjoyable as we were rushing to get home. We would definitely recommend it to friends who are looking for a place in the area.
House was nice, clean. Great location and friendly house caregiver, Mary. However, WiFi did not work, televisions did not work, no cell signal, no phones, no wood for fireplace, no thermostats to adjust heat or Air, furniture was worn out, beds horribly uncomfortable, and worst thing of all was the overwhelming odor of sewage coming though a locked door in downstairs. Garbage disposal smelled bad and the whole downstairs smelled like a basement with a sewage problem. It was a real shame because house had tons of potential. But needs some serious attention.
