5 Bedroom, 2 Bath, 1500 sq ft home located at the end of Thames St in Downtown Newport. Walk to restaurants and harbor. The Cliff Walk is .6 miles away and Gooseberry Beach is 1.1. Off-Street parking for two cars and plenty of non-permitted on-street parking about 200 yards away. Two gourmet delis and a liquor store within 150 yards. Excellent for families and groups. Eat-in Kitchen, grill, laundry and outside deck and patio.

About owner/property manager

Joanne and I have 6 kids between us and currently 3 grand babies. We really enjoy Newport and in 2005 decided to buy a house as both and investment and second home. The house was built around 1900 and we are only the second family to own it. It had been passed thru the generations of a Newport Irish clan. We renovated the home when we bought it and continue to improve on the property each year.

We love the proximity of the property to downtown and the beaches. We can walk to all of downtown and Gooseberry Beach (though we usually bike ride there). The bedroom bed counts are as follows:

Everything you need, close to town

Wonderful experience. The owners were very good at communication. Accessing the house was easy with lock box. House has 5 bedrooms which offers plenty of space for the whole family. Huge living room and dining room which we didnt use because we spent most of our time on the deck out back. The deck gets plenty of sun which is great when you're having lunch out there. It's nice to have a grill. Parking was sufficient. Location was great with a short walk to Kings Park or Thames street.

Had a blast in Newport

I loved this property. Its proximity to downtown was great, but it was set off the beaten path a little so that you could enjoy some quiet evenings. I use to live in Newport and this house is an awesome find. It's one of the better priced options out there. It comes with two off street parking spots, several of beds, two full bathrooms, and a great outdoor space. My friends and I really enjoyed the patio during the day and at night. It was so great to relax outside after a long day. We also enjoyed the nice kitchen where we hung out a lot in the morning. It had a very large island that made it easy to eat and talk.

The house included clean sheets and plenty of towels. It was very clean and ready for us. There were three A/C units, 2 upstairs and 1 downstairs. There were also plenty of fans.

I highly recommend this place to anyone looking to either have fun with their friends or visit with their families.

Definitely recommended

This very comfortable property was exactly as described on the website. The owner was extremely helpful and quick to text back with answers to any question I asked. Location is just at the end of Thames St. - and close enough to walk into downtown Newport - and about a 10 minute drive to 2nd beach (can be slightly quicker depending on traffic). We comfortably fit 9 and didn't even use one of the bedrooms. There was also a great selection of beach chairs and a couple of bikes that you're able to use.

Exactly what was described and promised!

Too often owners set false expectations of what you are renting. This house greeted us with a bottle of wine and fans or AC in every room even after the owner said there wasn't any. I am so happy that he told us to bring our own so we were able to keep my parent and toddler comfortable and cool in 100 degree heat. Definitely recommend and will book again next year!

Great property and location

As a group of 7 adult women we rented this property for a week. We loved the location. Downtown and all the happenings were only about a mile walk. We walked to everything. We biked to gooseberry beach one day which is also only about a mile. Cliff walk was also about a mile walk to it. All of the beds were comfortable. They did have a couple of air conditioners which we needed a couple of nights as it was so humid. They have beach chairs and a couple of bikes you can use. We loved hanging out on the back porch. The kitchen is well stocked for what we needed including some spices. The place was clean. We had issue with the dining room light and the owner was super helpful and attentive in getting it fixed. Would definitely stay here again.
