About Michael & Paula

We are originally from Kirkland, Washington, but now reside in Phoenix, Arizona with our five children. Our family enjoys traveling, especially between Arizona to Washington.

Michael & Paula purchased this apartment in 2007

Why Michael & Paula chose Kirkland

This property has been in our family for several years, it was at one time a cabin on the lake, but was relocated up the hill as Kirkland developed.

What makes this apartment unique

We enjoy the location of the property to nature, the lake and now all the new amenities of Juanita Village - Starbucks, Top Pot, Numerous pubs and restaurants.

The property and location is very dog-friendly, with several locations to walk our beloved dogs to. Dog park, Wooden Pier to the park or to Juanita Beach.

Quaint, well equipped and well priced

  • 4 of 5

We had a great stay in this little rental. It is quite small - but perfect for 2 people (or maybe 2 adults and a child or two).

It's very well equipped - there is a full kitchen, but be aware the fridge is quite small and there isn't a lot of prep space so you really can't do elaborate meals. But it did provide us a perfect set up for breakfasts, reheating leftovers and keeping some small items cold (yoghurt, waters, etc).

The bed is comfy enough and the bedroom has lots of room for suitcases, etc to be kept away from the main living area. Couch is comfy and large enough for two adults to spread out comfortably.

We were pleasantly surprised that the rental stayed cool enough - even during a few days when there was a heat warning! I was really worried about the lack of air conditioning when I saw the weather report, but we were totally fine with the fans going.

My only complaints about this rental are that the upstairs people were very noisy during part of our stay, but that is of no fault of the owner. As well. the lower assigned parking spot isn't recommended when the weather is hot. There is a huge tree that overhangs and drips really thick, sticky sap onto your vehicle. In the 9 days we had to wash our car 4 times from parking there. Again, out of the owners control I believe, but I wish someone had given us a heads up.

Overall, this is a great rental for the price. Its located in a great area with tons of amenities very close (Costco, lots of places to eat, a drug store, a quick walk to the beach front, etc) and the street is quiet. We wouldn't hesitate to stay here again!

Owner's Response: Thank you for your review Amanda. We are pleased that you enjoyed your stay in our century year old cottage apartment. Thank you for letting us know about the big old beautiful tree that overhangs the lower parking spot. We are sorry if the neighboring unit was noisy at times. Summer is a very popular time of the year for family vacationers. Take care and safe travels, Paula & Michael
