Waterfront Home with Deep-Water Dock on Jeremy Creek a few hundred yards from the Intracoastal Waterway and Cape Romain Wildlife Refuge. House was built in 2007 and has all the comforts of home. Large screen porches overlook a tranquil Low country creek and outdoor area includes a fire pit and large screened entertainment area complete with kitchen and games.
Located on beautiful Jeremy Creek, “Creek side”, is a lovely five bedroom house with all the comforts of home. Situated on nearly two waterfront acres, it’s the perfect spot from which to launch your low country adventures.
Walking into the home on the main level, you are warmed by both the sun streaming in through the bank of French doors as well as the glow from the antique heart pine floors and paneling. The open floor plan; linking living, kitchen and sunroom areas, allows fabulous views of Jeremy Creek, the coming and going of shrimp boats, and the occasional glimpse of resident dolphins. In the great room a large HD television and entertainment center are provided, as well as a game table and wet bar. In the fully equipped kitchen, cooks will find everything needed to put on a family feast. Convection oven, microwave, warming oven and five burner cook top make dinner prep a breeze. Not to mention the adjacent laundry room with washer/dryer and second refrigerator perfect for extra drinks and ice. A broad porch, with both screened and open areas, runs the width of the house and provides a conveniently located gas grill.
In the dining room you’ll find comfortable seating for 12 in a spacious welcoming environment. It’s the perfect spot for lingering over long conversations, tall tales and friendly fellowship. The main level also includes the master bedroom, which features creek views; queen sized bed, and full bath with soaking tub. In addition, this floor offers a second master with adjoining full bath and queen bed. An added bonus is the elevator which provides easy access to this floor for those who find stairs an obstacle. It also makes delivery of suitcases and groceries an easy task.
The second level provides three comfortably appointed bedrooms and two full baths. Two of the rooms have queen beds and one features a set of twin beds. Each one provides a bird’s eye view of Jeremy Creek.
But being in McClellanville is all about relaxing and enjoying the bounty of the low country environment. Beneath the house, on the ground floor, you’ll find a “summer kitchen” with gas cook top perfect for oyster roasts, shrimp boils and crab picking. Share your feast on the picnic table within this large screened in space. The area includes ping pong table, bumper pool, ring game and sound system access. Adjoining this area is a large outdoor patio with comfortable seating, joggling board, and a large fire kettle ideal for roasting marshmallows. Guests are encouraged to harvest from the adjacent “cutting garden” which provides seasonal flowers to brighten tabletops. A nearby outdoor shower allows quick and easy cleanup after a day on the water. (And with porch and rear yard mosquito misting system there are no worries about uninvited flying guests!)
And of course, the reason you’re really here – easy access to Jeremy Creek and the marsh beyond. “Creek side” offers a fixed and floating dock complete with fish cleaning sink and running water. The covered dock seating provides the perfect spot for an end-of-the-day toast to your most recent low country adventure.
The Creekside property was perfect for our mini family "reunion". The house and property are lovely and the open floor plan and living areas made it easy to accommodate our extended family. Cooking and food were mainstays of our celebrations of belated birthdays, anniversaries, and a baby shower...the chef's kitchen made it easy to get it all done, and the comfortable screened back porch overlooking Jeremy Creek made it most enjoyable. The great location made it easy for us to spend every day on our boat exploring Cape Romain and the intercoastal waterway. This was the best vacation we've had in years, and Creekside made it perfect.
We had a fabulous time. The house is absolutely gorgeous, the pictures does not do it justice. We were in awe when we pulled up. Boating and hanging out on the porches was our daily activities. The kids fell in love with the outdoor game room. And the outdoor kitchen was perfect for cookouts. Great relaxing vacation.
We had a wonderful time here! The house had everything we needed! Daniel was available to answer all questions! The view is amazing! This little town is a fun place for families! We spent lots of time on the boat! We caught shrimp and crab right off the doc! I do recommend planning activities around the tides if you want to leave your boat in the water! But that is normal for creek homes! Jeremy creek is a gorgeous location! We will go back!
We had a wonderful stay at Creekside over the week of July 4th. Because our family is so big with 4 daughters, two married, one with an infant, and our parents, we needed a spacious place. Creekside was not only spacious but offered awesome amenities. The outdoor kitchen downstairs with ping pong table and picnic table was perfect for hanging out together after a long day on the boat. We cooked a Lowcountry boil with fresh shrimp from the seafood market in town in the outdoor kitchen and enjoyed it on the picnic table. The kitchen upstairs was fully equipped and very nice as was the dining room with a large table to fit our entire family. The rooms were clean and big and the master bedroom luxurious!
We loved seeing the shrimp boats come through in front of the house with the birds and dolphins following close behind every day. The shrimp boat dock isn't far from the house and is very picturesque! We paddleboarded and kayaked (brought our own) on Jeremy Creek and some
on the ICW and surrounding creeks. During the week we took boat trips to Charleston Harbor/Shem Creek, Capers Island, Bull Island, Sandy Point Island (Shell Island) and explored other areas. Wildlife is abundant as we saw 40+ dolphins, large sea turtles, an alligator, pelicans, and much more. We parked two boats (24' & 20') on the dock without problem for the week except you must be weary of low tide and plan your boating day around that. We caught crabs off the dock and had them for supper one night. The outdoor fire pit was also a lot of fun. I could go on and on but will stop!
The realty company was quick to answer questions and address needs. Would love to return to this location! Peaceful, quiet, and far removed from much of civilization. No grocery store nearby but that's half the fun of it. It's a great way to disconnect with the world and connect with family, the outdoors, and yourself. Thanks for a great stay!
McClellanville is rural escape bounded by over 250,000 acres of National Forest (Francis Marion) and 22 miles of protected coastline (Cape Romain Wildlife Refuge) as well as many private land trusts. Most of our visitors come to enjoy world class fishing (red fish, AKA spot tail bass, trout, flounder, tarpon, and more), kayaking, or boating in the refuge. The beach has no roads and can only be accessed by boat but is a wonder unto itself once there. The refuge is great for bird watching and shelling as well. The forest presents plenty of outdoor opportunities as well including horse back riding, hiking, biking and hunting (deer and turkey in season). With a population of 500, the town is a quiet Southern coastal village that time seems to have forgotten. The roads are lined with ancient live oaks draped in Spanish moss and the creek is lined with Shrimp boats bringing in the freshest harvest.
