I just want to thank the staff at Kyounokatadomari Kyomachiya for a great stay, especially Yumi. For those unfamiliar with hospitality in Japan, omotenashi is a word use in Japan to describe selfless hospitality. The art of providing a level of customer service that humbly impresses, and Yumi really brought that to our stay, even making a personal visit to our machiya to make sure that we were comfortable and helping us with our luggage. If anything came up during our stay, like needing something around the machiya, she took care of it right away. She was easily accessible via email and responded quickly.
This was our first time using this machiya management group for our lodging. Three years ago, I had stayed with a another group, but as I was booking for a much longer stay with less time before the trip, I had to find help from another group. Fortunately, I found Kyounokatadomari Kyomachiya. The two machiya we stayed in, Ayame-an and Kogame-an, were very well equipped and provided easy access to subway stations, convenience stores, and local attractions.
I will definitely stay with Kyounokatadomari Kyomachiya again on my next visit to Kyoto, and I would recommend them to any friend or family going to Japan.
