This was our third time at Mauna Kea Resort and second at Kumalani. This unit has upgraded finishes, well stocked kitchen, wonderful lanai and tile floors in main living ares which is so nice at the beach. Beds are very comfortable and linens high quality. It was nice to have the extra space in den. Views are spectacular. Kumalani is very quiet and serene neighborhood and the access to the two best beaches on island, the less touristy, more country club residential vibe and the great views afforded by how resort built along coast and golf courses makes Mauna Kea our favorite resort on Hawaii. Similar to Kapalua on Maui. We always get the access package to use the hotel facilities, worth the money for charging lunch on beach, access to parking and facilities and chairs/umbrellas at the beach but know that you will need to be at the beach to stake your claim on chairs early in the day. Both Hapuna and Mauna Kea beach are wonderful but there is just something magical and always less crowded at Mauna Kea. Management company professional and welcoming and does good job in maintaining, stocking and cleaning unit. Quick to respond to emails and phone calls. Plenty of cleaning supplies, paper goods and basic spices for cooking were available along with beach mats and beach towels plus some beach toys. Check in and out quick and easy. Waimea is less than 20 minutes with two grocery stores and many charming shops and excellent restaurants. We also like Cafe Pesto and Blue Dragon less than three miles away at the harbor and be sure to get fresh fish to grill at Da Fish House. Would highly recommend this unit if staying at Mauna Kea.
This was our second stay at Kumulani and this was by far an exceptional experience. The condo is beautifully furnished and the owners have thought of every little extra for their guests comfort. This floor plan has the den which they set up as an office which was perfect for me as this was a working vacation and I had the room needed to set up my laptop and portable printer/scanner. The beds were very comfortable and the linens were high quality. The kitchen was beautiful and well stocked. We loved the Mauna Kea Club Access and used the fitness centers and beach/pools everyday. Being able to use the facilities at the Mauna Kea and Hapuna Prince sets this property apart from all others. Trying to come back next year, but Mauna Kea raised the Club Access cost over 200% from this year so it is out of reach for our budget, but we are trying. Love this condo!

Rockefeller and completed in 1965, this resort offers two beautiful white sand beaches, two championship golf courses, fitness centers, a spa & salon and a variety of dining options. The Mauna Kea Resort encompasses the "spirit of this special place" and is great for families in need of space or "a home away from home" with it's options of condominium units and private homes.
