Charming cottage with plenty of communal space and segregated bedrooms for privacy

  • 5 of 5

Ideally located in the North Sea area of Southampton, walk to beach, easy access to SagHarbor and the Hampton's plus the ferry to the North Fork without the craziness of tourists. Such a charming house, perfect for families or groups with plenty of living space but with separate bedroom areas for privacy. Great pool. Greg and Renell very helpful and lovely people. Perfect Long Island house.

Location is Superb and A Little Piece of Heaven

  • 4 of 5

I had searched for months praying for a home perfect for our family of 8 with 2 small children. For us, it was more special than most vacations as we celebrated our "Christmas in August". Scattered across the continents, we flew into JFK which was perfect for us. The home was charming & we loved the LOCATION--situated across from Wooley's Pond with a marina, a few blocks to the Peconic Bay & a 15 minute trip by car to Cooper's Beach, one of the top beaches in the country. This BEAUTIFUL beach was not crowded & had a great beach cafe. The owner generously shared their beach chairs, umbrella & red wagon for the kids so our walk to the Peconic Bay beach after dinner to play & watch the sunsets was great. Several of us were escaping the hot summer heat in Texas. We had a cool summer breeze every day with temperature highs around 80 & we got to sleep with our windows open. The large front yard was lovely-filled with beautiful hydrangeas and grass where we took our professional family photos & spent hours playing yard games. The backyard and pool were separated by a fence with gates plus we had the childproof fence installed for our stay. This house was the ONLY one I found in Long Island with that peace of mind. It was great having a patio with an 8 person table, upholstered chairs and sofa for relaxing. It was my favorite spot! Our family enjoys cooking and chose to eat most of our meals in. The kitchen accommodated multiple people and was filled with anything a person would want with a nice grill on the patio. The farmers market across the street had great produce & was open everyday. The area grocery stores we used were very pricey. My suggestion would be to avoid the traffic and have your food and items shipped upon arrival.

The house has an original home with an addition to the back with a large living & fireplace, a great master upstairs & small trundle bedroom with a bathroom in between--perfect for young children being near their parents.Downstairs, we had two large bathrooms back to back. We found that super accommodating. The two bedrooms upstairs in the original house were quite small with the angle of the roof, but were still accommodating. The bedrooms had nice linens and bedding.

We enjoyed Page in Sag Harbor, Out of the Blue Seafood in Hampton Bays and Saltbox in Montauck. We also enjoyed the Aquarium in Riverhead, Jackson Pollock Art Museum & the Montauck Lighthouse.

Renell & Greg were great to work with, and we really enjoyed our stay!
