Ann and James have a hidden treasure. The property is in a residential area, a variety of houses adorn the neighborhood. From the street, this property is quite deceiving as it is much larger than it first appears. The pictures accurately capture the essentials of the house but it's always a treat when a property exceeds expectations. The house has all the amenities your home would have and unlike some other rental properties is quite comfortable no matter which room you choose to relax in. From the formal living room, to the leather couched family area, to the chalice glassed back porch there are lots of nooks to enjoy your stay. But what makes the property unique is the very private backyard and pool area. You will think you are staying in a secluded bungalow rather than in a residential neighborhood. And of course the house is pet friendly and our dog loved chasing but never catching the geckos hidden in the beautiful shrubs. Ann and James take great pride in their property. Arrangements for our stay were seamless. And if anything arises during your stay Ed the local property manager is at your beckon call. A true gentlemen. The house is one mile from Lake Worth beach right over the causeway. You can walk, ride a bike or jog if you wish but there is ample paid parking as well. The city of Lake Worth is not West Palm or Delray Beach. It is not loaded with tourists and ridiculously overpriced restaurants. It is more of a local, working class town. And the western side of town (west of Dixie Highway) is a little more working class, and may not be for the feint of heart. However, the downtown is southward and only a half mile away. Again you can walk or drive as their is ample, free parking with lots of choices of restaurants, bars, and weekly activities.
My wife and I, along with another couple, had a perfectly enjoyable week at this property in Lake Worth. The house is well maintained and furnished; upgrades are numerous; everything worked as advertised. The heated pool was perfect. Beautiful plants and shrubbery created a totally private environment. You'd never know you were in the middle of a neighborhood -- it could be a deserted island! The enclosed porch overlooking the pool was perfect for morning coffee. The master bedroom is spacious with a heating/cooling system separate from the main house. We would definitely consider renting this property in the future. The golf course several blocks away was an added bonus.
My husband and I recently spent a week in this beautiful home for Christmas, and it met all expectations for us. We created fabulous meals in the inspiring kitchen, enjoyed reading in the lanai with its gorgeous view, relaxed comfortably in front of the tv, and were close to beaches and restaurants when we wanted to venture out. But the best part for us was the backyard!...
This is a beautiful home that has been thoughtfully updated while maintaining its historic charm. The description and photos are accurate. There were plenty of sitting areas to relax, so we could take our pick. The kitchen was a treat to cook in. Overall I thought this home was reminiscent of a home from a Nancy Meyer film!
We lucked out with the weather and could take full advantage of the backyard that included a luxurious, private pool and 5-star-resort-like exotic landscaping with a spectacular array of palms. We enjoyed non-stop visits from butterflies that were attracted to all the gorgeous flowers. It was a beautiful tropical oasis that we found hard to pull ourselves away from! We had great views of this stunning backyard from many rooms, including the huge master suite with it's luxurious ensuite. The architecture in this addition is gorgeous! Although we didn't use the other bedroom, it was spacious and well appointed. The front yard was equally well landscaped.
We have rented many times through VRBO and we prefer dealing with owner/operators. There were no problems dealing with Ann to make arrangements. We brought our small dog with us, which was fine with the owners. The neighborhood is also pet friendly with lots of areas to walk the dog. This house is within walking distance (10-15 minutes) of Lake Street with its shops and restaurants (highly recommend Suri Tapas Bar), although the neighborhood is not well lit after dark, making the walk back a little treacherous. This house is also an easy drive to gorgeous ocean side scenery in West Palm Beach and other attractions and restaurants such as Delray Beach.
Overall, we enjoyed a luxurious, relaxing week in this gorgeous home!
