Our family had such a great time! The camp is beautiful, clean and well equipped. It's tough for pictures to do it justice! Communication with the owners was wonderful. Thank you for sharing your home and thanks for the memories!

Excellent property for those who want privacy and peace.

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I have rented upwards of ten lakeshore properties in Maine over the years, and this one is the best we have experienced. We are empty-nesters and come solo, having spent plenty of time with children, grandchildren, and extended family around the country earlier in the summer. We are kayakers, distance swimmers, and walkers/hikers. We read, cook, do puzzles, and nap in the hammock. This property offers a perfect location for all of our late summer Maine vacation pursuits. The house is lovely inside, with lots of light. It is well outfitted, clean throughout, and the appliances are in good working order. Even though the fridge looks old, it works well. The beds are good, the bathrooms modern, and even the deck furniture is a major step up from the molded plastic chairs one often encounters. My only suggestion is that if you like to read at night, bring a couple of good reading lamps with you. There is no wifi, and cell voice service is sketchy at best (texting works), so prepare to be (and enjoy being) unplugged. Pam and Bill were instantly responsive to our questions and concerns. They are exceedingly generous to offer their home to renters.

Peaceful, private, and a nature lover's paradise

  • 5 of 5

We had the honor of renting this beautiful home from July 29th-August 5th and it was incredible. The home is perfectly furnished, the setting is secluded, and you are just steps away from the water. We spent the week kayaking at all times of the day and evening, watching and listening to loons and barred owls calling and we had several great views of bald eagles flying over head. There are catbirds and kingfishers and herons and kingbirds and cedar waxwings and broad winged hawks and many other kinds of birds but the best birds are the loons. The water is warm for swimming and it is crystal clear. The home is furnished well with a great kitchen making family meals a fun gathering. We hated to leave this slice of heaven at the end of the week. The peace and solitude found here is unmatched. It is unbelievably quiet and due to many submerged rocks, it is a kayaker's dream as the boats with motors stay on the other end of the pond. Star watching is amazing. The Milky Way is breathtaking. Sitting on the dock at night we saw shooting stars every night...one night we saw 10 in a 30 minute period. We want to come back and enjoy this home again and sincerely appreciate the owners sharing their special place with others. It is truly amazing. The owners are great to work with, leave great instructions and have a nice binder of information for guests to read upon arrival. If you like shops and golf, nearby Bridgton provided both options with quaint shops, boutiques, galleries and coffee shops and a beautiful golf course. The views of the mountains from the dock make for a lovely backdrop for sunsets. I would highly recommend this property to anyone looking for the perfect getaway. Thank you for sharing!! We had a fantastic stay! Pam is wonderful to work with and we owe her a huge thank you for sharing her lovely home with others!

Dream house in the woods

  • 5 of 5

The pictures don't show the real beauty of this home. The house and view are breathtaking! My husband who has been going to Maine since he was a little boy loved the home, the location, the pond, and the ability to bring our dog, and fish any time he could! I loved the fact we didn't have to bring linens and towels, and had the laundry right there. The house was immaculate!! The kids had a blast and so did the adults.

Thank you to the Spears for sharing their gorgeous home!

Best Maine Vacation!

  • 5 of 5

My family and I had a wonderful vacation stay at Pam's beautiful house. When we walked in for the first time, we were blown away by the beautiful woodwork throughout the house. You can tell how much work and love was put into the home when Pam's family built the house. There was plenty of room for me, my husband, our 11-month old boy and Pam was gracious enough to let our dog stay as well. The house was clean, had everything we needed and would ever want in a vacation house (the extra bathroom was bonus too!). We really enjoyed the calm waters of the little Hancock pond. Our son took his first dip in the lake and loved splashing in the warm waters. My husband had a blast fishing for bass. The kitchen was well stocked for cooking in. We had a lot of fun exploring the nearby town of Bridgton too! This was our best Maine vacation yet and we hope to come back again year after year. It was the perfect retreat for us. We can't say enough of how much we loved our stay. Thank you so much, Pam!
