What a wonderful home to stay in. Big enough for the entire family including the dogs. Everything you could ever need is there. Just pack a bag and start your vacation. Fishing, swimming, hiking, kayaking, antiquing and of course Lobster dinners. Oh and could never forget about the wonderful Jim Bobs! This was our second time staying on Sand/Walden Pond and couldn't have had a better time. Wonderful Memories, Wonderful Vacation..
A fantastic vacation spot.
Couldn't have had any better place, this was a dream. The lake, the beautiful house, the perfect weather all add up to a perfect summer vacation. Swimming, kayaking, hiking and enjoying the area's many amenities left such wonderful memories. Would definitely love to return.
Thank you for the lovely write-up. So happy you enjoyed your stay.
Perfect spot to unplug and recharge
This was our third time staying at this property and it doesn't get any better than this. The pond is perfect for kayaking and birdwatching. The bigger boats stay over on adjoining Hancock Pond keeping life on this pond peaceful and serene. The home is lovely and well equipped and the home owners are attentive and fantastic to deal with. We have a deep appreciation for what they have created and are willing to share. The limited connectivity kept our group from spending time looking at email and instead phones were put to good use capturing pictures of a great vacation. This is a huge plus! Unplug and unwind and truly relax at this special place! Enjoy the peace and quiet and incredible wildlife. It is special here.
Serene and Well Maintained
This was such a beautiful home on an idyllic lake. We had a great time with our preschool aged kids. And the owners were incredibly responsive and kind, even FedExing some items we left behind.
Our family had such a great time! The camp is beautiful, clean and well equipped. It's tough for pictures to do it justice! Communication with the owners was wonderful. Thank you for sharing your home and thanks for the memories!
Excellent property for those who want privacy and peace.
My husband and I have rented upwards of ten lakeshore properties in Maine over the years, and this one is the best we have experienced. We are empty-nesters and come solo, having spent plenty of time with children, grandchildren, and extended family around the country earlier in the summer. We are kayakers, distance swimmers, and walkers/hikers. We read, cook, do puzzles, and nap in the hammock. This property offers a perfect location for all of our late summer Maine vacation pursuits. The house is lovely inside, with lots of light. It is well outfitted, clean throughout, and the appliances are in good working order. Even though the fridge looks old, it works well. The beds are good, the bathrooms modern, and even the deck furniture is a major step up from the molded plastic chairs one often encounters. My only suggestion is that if you like to read at night, bring a couple of good reading lamps with you. There is no wifi, and cell voice service is sketchy at best (texting works), so prepare to be (and enjoy being) unplugged. Pam and Bill were instantly responsive to our questions and concerns. They are exceedingly generous to offer their home to renters.
