About Scott McMullen
We have been snowboarding in Colorado at Vail, Aspen, Keystone, and Breckenridge for many years; and have purchased our own home after enjoying many winter and summer vacations in the friendly and accessible town of Breckenridge; which has a very active, year round social community.
Scott McMullen purchased this Lodge in 2015
Why Scott McMullen chose Peak 8
This property is in an ideal location with great mountain sunrise views and sits atop a secluded meadow and pond. It gives our friends, family, and guests unique and easy access to our favorite areas of the Breckenridge Ski Resort at Peaks 6, 7, and 8; while allowing us to snowboard and ski at other areas nearby on our annual Epic Pass. It also allows us easy and reliable Breck Free Ride Bus service into town during the day and in the evenings, without having to take our own car.
What makes this Lodge unique
This home is close to the mountain for winter or summer activities, yet close enough to town to walk. It is also within a two minute walk to the free shuttle service; yet it is situated on a private road with secluded views. The historic gold mining town of Breckenridge was incorporated in 1859; and the quaint and fun little town is now home to art exhibitions, a summer concert series, ski and snowboarding competitions, an international winter ice sculpting competition; and dozens of other year round exhibitions and activities. Mountain Meadow Lodge has ski in access from the Peak 8 Four O'Clock Run and ski out access on the same run to the Snowflake Chairlift which takes you to the top of the novice area at Peak 8; where you can choose between five chairlifts and the Gondola to move you around the mountain quickly. The Lodge is also within a two minute walk to the Ski Hill Road bus stop at the Nordic Ski and Snowshoe Center; with bus service that runs every 15 minutes for the 2 minute ride to the base of Peak 8, or the 2 minute ride to the base of Peak 7, or the 5 minute ride into the town of Breckenridge. Although Breckenridge is famous for its incredible ski season which runs from November to April; the Summit County area is also an all year playground for mountain biking, rafting, zip lining, golf, hiking, and even summer dogsledding. Snowboarding at Arapahoe Basin in bikinis and outrageous costumes takes place in July and is more about drinking and live bands than anything else. Gold mining towns of Leadville and Steamboat Springs, are easy day trips and the historic Durango & Silverton Railway trip is an unforgettable summer experience. White water rafting at Buena Vista is less than a two hour drive from "Breck" as it is known by the locals. Mountain Meadow Lodge is the perfect location from which to launch your countless Summit County adventures.

Great location to Breckenridge.
The property was comfortable and it was convenient to drive or walk to Breckenridge. The kitchen was well stocked and had higher end appliances. On the last day we did get to see 2 moose walk right in front of the townhouse.
Exactly what we were looking for...
We highly recommend this home.
We stayed 7 days and this felt like home to our family. It was so warm, comfortable and cozy.
Their was plenty of room for our family of ten. Three bathrooms are nice in the mornings.
Cooking is important to us and we loved the kitchen. Lots of space and everything we needed.
The heated garage/playroom really made a difference. I can't imagine storing ten sets of skis, coats, snowboards, boots etc without this space. The boot warmer was awesome.
We enjoyed the hottub at night after skiing. The stars were amazing.
Foosball table was fun. My grandson beat me every game.
Ski In/Ski Out - Really convenient. We read the book on the coffee table and the directions were easy to follow. Ski Out: walk thru the Pines Community. Ski in: Pass the Maintenance Area and watch for the BMX Freestyle Park sign. Use your map on your phone and you will see Grandview Road meeting the edge of Four O'Clock Run.
Shuttles: Rode all over town, very convenient.
The home has four levels. Master BR upstairs level, Living/Kitchen Main level, Family room level, and two bedrooms on lower level. This really allowed us to have privacy for a nap, reading or relaxing.
The animal detector sounded and we got to see moose right in our yard.
We had a great time and loved this place.

Thank you for taking the time to write a detailed review. Come back soon.
The house is the perfect place to get away and relax. It is equipped with absolutely everything.
This was my first stay in Breckenridge and at the Mountain Meadow. Although nobody is there to show you around, everything is perfectly labeled, they provided a book for activities and town information. The house is secluded and beautiful. The rooms are very spacious were four can easily sleep with comfort. The kitchen is equipped with everything we needed, they thought of everything! As well as an impressive rack of spices. The patio has an amazing view of a small pond and trees, we saw a Moose that got really close, it was so cool!. There are more animals to see, but just sitting down with a glass of wine to take in the scenery is enough. The house is perfectly located not in town but a very nice walking distance and also the towns free ride is available in the corner of the street. I had the fortune to spend some time with Scott and Karla, they made me feel great about staying at their home, I will for sure come back for ski season. Thank you both for your generosity.
Beautiful house very clean and lots of wildlife
We saw a moose in the backyard within 10 minutes of checking in. Very good setup with two separate living quarters. Would be great for two families or a larger group. Has every kitchen utensil you could ask for. Grill on the deck is great and a gas fire pit on the deck is very nice to have also. The owner is very nice to work with as the hot tub went down and he had it repaired and operational within hours. Overall the place is great. The free bus is less than a 5 minute walk and if you're feeling lazy you can call ski Uber for $16 door to slopes. You can't go wrong with this property and if your looking forward to seeing wildlife this is the best place for that.
Thank you for your review. Come back in the summer to see even more wildlife.

Great house in a good location.
Really lovely property in a nice quiet location close to the slopes and a 5/10 minute drive into town. Really well fitted out house with ski and boot storage. Ski out involves a 5/10 minute uphill walk but is definitely better than drive/park/gondola alternative. Ski in is dependent on conditions. Otherwise it's a 10 minute walk down a road. Again preferable to alternatives. Would definitely rent this property again.
Thank you for taking the time to post a review. You and your family are welcome back any time.
Great place, even greater owner for the best vacation ever.
We booked the Mountain meadow lodge for ten days hoping to catch some much needed rest and witness the turning of the leaves as Co welcomed the fall season... Our only regret was to not have booked a longer stay.
The owners made the process very easy and we felt welcomed even before we stepped foot into the Meadow lodge.
The organization is impeccable, the house is easy to settle into and the "smart house" works for everyone from age 4 to "no limit".
We loved every aspect of our stay at the house, the lodge is incredible and the location is phenomenal, we parked the car and were able to enjoy all kinds of hikes directly from house, a short walk (literally 3 minutes) to the bus stop and the options open up, either up to catch the Gondolas or down for a short ride to the town center.
Good weather and you will find yourself enjoying a bbq and a soak in the hot tub, bad weather and the entertainment center at the house is there for an evening of Television or a fun time with all the toys and games provided by the owners... you love nature, just grab your coffee in the morning and wait for the Moose to come along, tired of the Moose? just wait a little longer and the white tail fox will come to pay his respects...
We loved it, we recommend it, we will return...
The Lodge is set at the edge of a private, protected meadow with a small natural pond that attracts moose, deer, fox, and bear.
