About the property

2 Bedroom, 2 Bathroom, Sleeps 6

Enjoy the breeze and view from this light-filled cabin on top of a ridge. Walk to trail in the NC Wildlife Game Lands or just enjoy strolling around the gravel roads of our neighborhood, Piney Mountain -- keep an eye out for deer, birds and other wildlife. Many trails, waterfalls and outdoor adventures in the nearby area and we're happy to tell you about the ones we've tried (The Gorge zip line!).

The log cabin sits on a 4.25-acre wooded lot that provides privacy. Enjoy a beautiful mountain view year round and 360 degree winter mountain views. Whether you're looking for some family time or a chance to connect with friends, this place has been set up to accommodate. Floor plan is open with a bedroom and bathroom on each level. Hang out on one of the porches or deck, watch a movie in the loft from the growing collection, grab a book, or choose a fun board game. The house is set up to make you so comfortable you won't want to leave.

But if you choose to venture out and explore, historic downtown Saluda is about a 10 minute drive and is really charming with excellent food, art and live music. There are lots of day-trip options including:

Sky Top Orchard, Zirconia - 20 min.

Hendersonville - 20 min.

Tryon International Equestrian Center - 25 min.

Lake Lure - 30 min.

Asheville - 35 min.

Chimney Rock - 40 min.

"The mountains are calling, and I must go." - John Muir

Note: The roads within our development are gravel and our driveway is fairly steep. In the case of wintry weather it is possible that you could have trouble getting up the driveway without 4WD.

Favorite Mountain Retreat

  • 5 of 5

Our family had a great time at this location. We have been here before and found ourselves staying at the cabin more than we did before. We did take in some kayaking, hiking, site seeing, and of course the Coon Dog Day Events but were home more than we thought we would be. The home was very clean as before and the view somehow seemed better. The kitchen had everything we needed for prepping our meals.

The front porch rockers offered a great escape from the group for a quieter setting for catching up with friends and family. The back porch with the amazing view was also great for lounging around and watching the rain come across the mountain.

As for the operators of the cabin, she is just great. We dealt with several others over the years and she is the best at returning emails and phone calls promptly. We have not had any problems which needed quick attention but I know that she would be there if something came up. This is a definite must try if you're looking for a great mountaintop experience. We are already trying to get our dates for apple picking season coming up in the Fall.

thank you Allison for sharing your home with my family again this year. We can't wait for our Fall and next Summers request to be approved.

Deserves 5 Stars...minus one issue

  • 4 of 5

My husband, dog and I just returned from the Piney Mountain cabin. The cabin is beautiful. The view in the picture off the deck is not exaggerated. Each room is furnished beautifully, and is very cozy even in cold temperatures. You will have everything you need/want at the cabin. The only reason I am not giving five stars is because the well pump to the house was broken when we arrived. Being that it was a Friday night, on a holiday weekend, they were not able to fix it while we were there. So we did not have water during our stay. That being said, the owner was very responsive and proactive. She did the absolute best she could and definitely did right by us. Some things cannot be helped, but the way the owner reacted to the issue was first class. We definitely look forward to coming back in the fall or spring so that we can enjoy the beautiful deck and screened in porch. Also, you can't go wrong with coming to Saluda. Such a charming town, with great shops and restaurants. For those looking for a mountain getaway, I would highly recommend this cabin.

Such a cozy cabin in the perfect location !

  • 5 of 5

We had such a wonderful experience this past weekend. The cabin was so cozy and was stocked with everything we could have possibly needed. We are still talking about how perfect this weekend getaway was and how badly we want to return next year. The home was spotless, the beds were so comfy, and the views from the porch were incredible. We have zero complaints and want everyone to experience a stay in this cabin. Thank you so much for everything!

The owners go over and beyond in welcoming you to their cabin. It is a very clean and well-stocked cabin. My family and I felt immediately at home and absolutely loved our time spent at the cabin. We look forward to returning for another visit in the future.

Gorgeous Mountain View’s

  • 4 of 5

The cabin was beautiful and the views were priceless! Our favorite spot inside the house was sitting on the couch in the loft taking in the sunrise and sunset each day. Great location to be near many towns for day trips for shopping and eating as well as hiking.
