Ken & Thalia moved to Alaska in 1989 from the New England area. Ken has been running an eco-adventure guiding service called Wilkinson Expeditions. He's a trained photographer and naturalist and has guided private groups in Alaska and other locations since 1995.Thalia is an elementary school art teacher and runs a summer art camp for kids in Girdwood We both like gardening, there is a green house on location and together we built the wood fired sauna in the back yard.

Why Owner chose Anchorage
We fell in love with Alaska. We bought the house in Girdwood because of the outstanding scenery and recreational opportunities nearby. It is not far from Anchorage and the drive is one of the most scenic drives in the country. We see alot of wildlife in the area and back yard and the photo opportunities are endless. Girdwood is a small town surrounded by hundreds of square miles of National and State Forest. With less than 1500 people when we moved here, now approximately 2200, it is very friendly with a strong community spirit. We both like winter and skiing and this small town offers the Alyeska Ski Resort, many cross country trails and lots of snow.

Loved it all. Simple but had everything were needed. The area is great with good food and fun things to do close to the apartment. The yard is gorgeous during the summer and the raspberries in the yard were delicious.
Good stay, good people
Great location with everything you need. Very spacious, and decorated nicely. We are traveling all over so the washer and dryer were a huge benefit.
I highly recommended this property!
We were very pleased. Very comfortable and outstandingly clean and neat
We were in Girdwood for a wedding and the hosts allowed us to check in early enough to get ready for the wedding. It was wonderful to have some flexibility and extra time to primp. If you're skiing, this would be an ideal location as it's very close to the slopes while being very private. (Just don't think you can kill time wandering the town .... there really isn't a town to wander especially in the summer when most things are closed)
Great Stay in Girdwood
Great location and a nice place to stay in Girdwood. Would recommend.
