About Dr. Baltasar Jimenez

I am a Real Estate Professional and my husband is a Dentist. We have a teenage son. We wake up on weekdays in Sarasota to go to work and wake up on weekends in Manasota to 'play' and recharge our 'batteries' in preparation for our busy schedules of the week. I work most weekends during season, but I'm only 35 minutes south of Sarasota, so I come and go at ease. We are avid supporters of the arts and non-for-profit organizations. We love to plan and host parties and most times it's hard to keep the numbers below 100-225 guests. We also enjoy travelling but it's always good to come home.

Dr. Baltasar Jimenez purchased this house in 2004

Why Dr. Baltasar Jimenez chose Florida South Central Gulf Coast

My family and I were looking for a secluded and private get away, a beachfront property to unwind on weekends, with all the comforts of home but driving distance to major shopping, restaurants and airports. Eight years later, we still wake up in the morning and the first words out of our mouths are: 'another beautiful day in paradise'!

What makes this house unique

We love to read while listening to the sound of the waves, we enjoy our long walks, the sunsets are spectacular, we have a variety of toys to keep us busy (fishing rods, kayaks, scuba & snorkeling equipment, bicycles, pool table, ping pong table, lifestep exercise machine, table games, depending on our mood of the day). Sometimes we just sit on the balcony with a 'mojito' to enjoy the peaceful views and plan the menu for the day when the three of us get together in the kitchen to prepare delicious, healthy meals. Grilling is always a good alternative with 'al fresco' dining, a favorite treat.

Family vacation

  • 4 of 5

Our 2nd year Florida beach family vacation for 14. We had a great time, spend a week together relaxing, walking the beach, collecting shells, watching sea life. My husband and I live in Florida on a saltwater canal with direct access to the Gulf but have the whole family (kids, spouses, grandkids and great granddaughter) join us and stay right on Manasota Key beach as we all love this beach away from the tourist crowd. We did not want to drive or take our boat out to the Gulf from our house daily, so renting a beach house was a perect answer.

Owner was responsive to any concerns we had. The house accommodated us but could use a deep clean and upkeep. All in all we had fun and fond memories

Vacation Rental Nightmare

  • 1 of 5

A very disappointing vacation home, to say the least. This house was undoubtably at one time a prime showcase beachfront home. However, my family experienced the wrath of the owner's willful and malicious misrepresentation of the condition of the house in its current state: FILTHY! We were greeted at the front gate by piles of trash (torn and scattered...and was not picked up all week so we had no place to take our trash). The landscaping is unkempt - overgrown and dead, lawn not mowed. Stairs down to beach haven't been cleaned in years - overrun with sand and foliage. Old and broken items outside, mildewed, rusted and broken beach equipment i.e. chairs, umbrellas, toys, bikes, as well as flooring on balcony deteriorated with holes in it - hazardous! Outdoor furniture all broken, rusted and unusable. All furnishings and decor and TVs inside are outdated and/or broken and absolutely disgusting with old, greasy dirt and hair (human and animal). It's all literal junk. The decor is a mesh of styles that resemble a 1990s double wide trailer. Food in fridge dated 2014. Appliances dirty and not in proper working order (fridge won't keep food cold). Owner or previous renters personal items including outdated foods, outdated medicines (dated 2005), feminine products, used hygiene products, stinking dirty clothes and more in drawers and cabinets. Brown, biting insects (in pantry, on kitchen counters, in drawers, flying from kitchen sink drain, on furniture, in beds); air conditioning literally doesn't work upstairs - coolest was 83 degrees and washer/dryer sets disgusting and unusable. The doors don't shut and close. Blinds and lamps broken. The downstairs ceiling pours water when rains and water stands in downstairs "laundry room" for days. Showers and curtains are molded. Air vents are filthy and present mold. Wreaks of a musty odor constantly. We had to clean the house the best we could in order for our kids and grandkids to be able to stay. I paid a lot for this roach infested house!! The only saving grace and one star rating for our family's annual vacation is that the location and setting of this house is spectacular and the Manasota Key beaches are majestic. This homeowner is a crook and should be ashamed for taking people's money under false and misleading pretense via very old photographs. His best bet is to hire a cleaning service, get a pest control contract, hire a landscaping crew and repair crew or this house will never be revived. It's a disgrace.

Owner's Response: After careful consideration, I have decided to response to your negative allegations. The maintainer person didn't have time to clean up the outside trash before you got there. It was cleaned up half and hour on your arrival time. The landscaping has been allowed to grow lavishly, to some people it may appear over grown. The lawn was not scheduled to be mowed that week. The stairs to the beach can not be touch by environmental regulation. Old and broken items have been throw out, however, everything left exposed to the saline environment will corrode. I can understand that someone from Arkansas would not know that. To call my furniture junk and a mess of styles resembling a double wide trailer is a total false accusation. This house décor has been featured in magazines. Renters had time to inspect the house thoroughly during the walk-through prior to taking possession and they did not make any complaints. Some condiments in the refrigeration were out dated and thrown out. Appliances are 16 years old with some rust and wear evident. Any insects coming from outside if the doors are left open. Air conditioning doesn't cool in the daytime with opening and closing the outside door with 12 people inside. A/c repair people have stated on multiple occasion that they can only achieve a cooling differential of 15 degrees during day time. Doors close and shut properly, some blinds have been damage by renters. Downstairs ceiling has been repair. Standing water in laundry, was due to loose tubing. Shower curtains had very little dirt and stains which was easily removed with Clorox. Air vents had some lint and was cleaned easily. The house is not roach infested. In Florida we have Palmetto bugs and large beetles which come from the outside and if found dead in the floor, it means the fumigation done monthly is working properly. Call me a crook and misleading is a total fabrication. I live in that house when not rented and the photographs in the internet are accurate. I ask potential future renters to not consider one bad review from a totally negative person.

My husband and I had an amazing week. We were in Manasota Key in July and couldn't wait to come back in September. We brought our kids in July and even though it was a great time with them, we decided to come back alone. Unbelievable secluded beach. My husband fished from the shore sometimes 4 times in one day. We went on one guided fly fishing trip and caught a lot of fish- too many to count. The house was beautiful. The second you walk in and see the view from the main room, you begin to relax. Hard to leave. We'll be back soon! Thanks again.

Beautiful home on quiet beach!

  • 5 of 5

We found this house to be amazing. It was beautiful, spacious, and had incredible views of the ocean all over it. You are so close to the ocean you can hear it from the inside even with doors and windows shut. It is filled with unique artwork and has such personality. The pool table downstairs was an added bonus. It has such a nice gourmet kitchen we ate most meals inside. And we thoroughly enjoyed our excursion to Sarasota to visit the Ringling Circus Museum. We felt very at home in this slice of paradise!

Stunning views, private beach

  • 5 of 5

My family and I had an amazing week stay at this beautiful house on Manasota Key. We loved the island decor and relaxing atmosphere. We spent much of our time on the gorgeous, private beach, finding lots of shark teeth and shells. I love the illumination of the landscaping every night. It was easy to entertain my parents; we had dinners and a barbecue and always had plenty of room. My kids really enjoyed the privacy of the downstairs area including the pool table. We hope to return to this lovely beach house next year.

Very Comfortable & Relaxing

  • 5 of 5

Great Views of the beach and sunsets from the livingroom as well as the exterior porch.

Plenty of sandy beach front to enjoy. Activity on the beach is minimal, and long walks on the beach were very relaxing. Great kitchen for meal preparation, and the gas grill on the porch is a nice addition. Nice Restaurants are nearby in Englewood or a short drive to Venice. Manasota Key Florida is definitely a unique destination.
