Just in time for apple picking and hiking !!!Set back in the pines, within 100 feet from the lake shoreline, you will find yourself in a tranquil setting just right for a young family or ones that want to break away from the city hustle . Two bedrooms upstairs; one queen size bed with an adjoining full bath and another room with a queen size bed and a twin bed. Downstairs there is another full bath, large kitchen,den/bedroom with a futon (third bedroom), dining room , living room with a large TV, and fully enclosed screen porch in the back and open deck in the front. Drink your coffee in the morning on the front porch and have your wine and dinner with the sunset on the back porch. In the fall, there are several hiking trails that begin outside your door or take a short drive to Mt. Ascutney, or Mt. Sunapee for a small challenge.
Our house is part of an association which owns private property right at the end of our driveway. There are picnic tables and grassy areas to sunbathe and to hang out with your friends and family. At night you can go down to the association's property and have a camp fire. In the winter time our house is just far enough from the ski slopes where you'll enjoy coming back and relaxing with family. Close enough to come home and change to go back to the slopes for evening activity; dinner, movies or just going back for a drink. The lake at certain times in the winter has been fantastic for ice skating. You can make a fire on the association beach and bring hot chocolate down to friends and family to share.
This is a sweet little house with a good vibe. We enjoyed the screened in porch, the canoe, nearby hikes, and the generally mellow, quiet vibe of not being particularly near anything but a lake. The front porch is sunny, the house is set back from the road and the wind in the trees makes such a soothing sound. Extra bonus for being dog friendly and having 2 bathrooms!
Diane's home was perfect for a fall getaway. It fit four adults (and one dog) comfortably. Diane provided a number of recommendations for nearby hikes and activities, but we spent most of our time canoeing during the day and grilling and sitting by the fire at night. Highly recommended!
Our family loved the house, and Crescent lake . We kayaked and canoed , the water was clean and not crazy w boats, enjoyed meeting some friendly neighbors on the lake. The house is super clean and nicely decorated, Diane was great to deal with and she set us up perfectly. We explored nearby Mt Sunapee, hiked, they had zip lines and Mt. Bike trails also. & we visited nearby Claremont for lunch at New Socials grille, enjoyed the food and staff very much. Highly recommend and look forward coming Back
Was a very cute place, stayed with my husband and my dog. Great lake, cute house, had everything we needed. Would go back!
Just returned from a lovely 3 day girls weekend at Diane's Crescent Lake home. There were two humans and two dogs and all four of us loved it. The setting is gorgeous, just across from a shared picnic/dock/bbq area. The house itself was very clean and well-appointed. It has a rustic style with lots of room for a 2 bedroom place. We mainly used it as a home-base while exploring the area, so we didn't make use of the canoe and paddles provided, but I did spend a lovely evening sitting on the dock talking to other homeowners, watching the sunset. For dog owners: Great spot. As we all know, there's a big difference between homeowners who tolerate dogs and those who welcome them. This was a welcoming home, complete with a water bowl waiting to be filled. Plenty of room for the dogs to run around safely. The only downside, which no one can control, was that someone set off fireworks across the lake both Friday and Saturday nights. It didn't last long (10 mins), but of course it scared the bejeezus out of the dogs. Other than that, it was perfect. If I'm ever in the area again, I would definitely make a repeat visit.
We had a wonderful, relaxing time at the country home. The home was beautiful with all the amenities needed. If we weren't kayaking on the quiet lake, we spent most of our time on the front porch! We loved the privacy, surrounded by trees. We spent our nights star gazing. Thank you Diane for the bottle of wine we enjoyed by the fire pit! We look forward to returning.
Summertime on the lake is spectacular. You have privacy at the house and then within 100feet of the house is full access to Crescent Lake where you can swim, motorboat, float and paddle around in a kayak or canoe. In the fall, you can take hikes right outside our door on snowmobile trails or drive a short distance to Mt. Sunapee , Ascutney mountain or even Okemo for a day hike. The views of the leaf changing is spectacular.
In the winter, we are 20-25 minutes from Mount Sunapee Ski Resort and 30-35 minutes to Okemo Ski Resort. If you have spent the day skiing at the mountain, spend the night at our place and go back the next morning. It is much easier than driving home after a long day of skiing. You can also snowmobile, snow shoe and cross country ski on the frozen lake and trails that are within walking distance.
