The Arlington home worked out well for our family who were in town for our son's wedding. The kitchen is the highlight of the home. It was so well stocked with serving items, utensils, small appliances, etc., great for cooking and setting up a buffet for our family and friends for a welcome gathering and brunch after the wedding. We brought many items from home with us not knowing what to expect, but didn't use all we brought. The Viking range and two beautiful wall ovens are a cook's dream. The refrigeration/freezer space was a challenge given the extensive cooking appliances available. Having two wine coolers available were extremely helpful. The dining room and table was large to accommodate our family as well as the couch and chair in there as well. It was great being able to access the porch on the front of the house from the office on the other side of the dining room wall. The rocking chairs and little tables out there were a very nice touch and provided extra seating for our guests as well as a quiet place to relax. The family rooms with large TVs and ping pong table were a great addition to the entertainment for our young guests, as well as the board games available. We did bring some lawn games to use as well but used them on the front lawn not in the back yard. The 4 bedrooms were very convenient. Master bedroom bed extremely high for me so I could have used a step stool to get up on the bed. I am 5'4". It was a challenge each night. Several of the closets had many personal items in them so we were hesitant to use them. It would be helpful if personal items could be pushed to one side as they were in the Master bedroom walk in closet. The downstairs bedroom closet couldn't be used at all for my son to hang his tuxedo and suits up because it was filled wall to ceiling. It would be helpful if some space was left available in there to use. The downstairs shower was wonderful. Great water pressure and easy to access. I used this since the shower/tub in the master bath was too difficult to get out of because it was so deep (Jacuzzi tub) and I am only 5'4". My husband at 6'1" used Master bath but warned me of the challenge of getting out. I know it sounds old but some type of grab bar might be installed as a precaution for renters. Especially since you have to climb up a step to get on the ledge of the tub and then go down into the tub. Overall the house worked out well for our family wedding weekend. The owner was very helpful, friendly & accessible.
The house worked out beautifully for our Georgetown graduation. It was large enough to accommodate all the relatives travelling from afar. The kitchen was amazing. We felt right at home with several cooks. Our celebration gathering was great too with the location of the large dining area off the kitchen. The weather was pretty enough that we enjoyed the back yard patio. I could not have asked for more.
As to the other review comment on the mattress in the master. They were correct it was extra firm, but with my back I woke every day feeling just fine.
I would rent it again without a second thought.
The property owner was very helpful. The kitchen is a chef's dream, really gorgeous and is fully stocked. We were in town for a funeral at Arlington National and this home was very convenient. The kids loved hanging out in the downstairs living room and had fun with the ping pong table. Our mother the chef loved the kitchen and big dining area which provided room for everyone to gather. Chuchi was extremely helpful. I would definitely recommend this home. One thing to note, the master bed is very firm-I usually like firm mattresses, but this one bordered on a little too much. But, other than that, everything was great.
I stayed here for a weekend with four other friends and we had zero complaints about our stay. Plenty of beds and TVs for everyone. The location is nice and quiet and near plenty of things to do. The best part of all is the kitchen. Absolutely amazing! I highly recommend this home to anyone staying in the DC area.
our daughter is an RN and had to work over the holidays, so I looked for a home to rent to bring Christmas to her. This property had just the right spaces to enjoy movies together, an amazing kitchen to prepare meals, a great location, and enough bathrooms for each to have their own. Not to mention a beautifully decorated tree!
