About Wilma Kosal
Recently retired from sales, but moving full-time into her pottery career, Wilma loves Saugatuck and feels fortunate to be able to share her home with you. Folding out of her lovely backyard, the cottage is nestled in its own oasis and if you want privacy, it’s yours. If you want philosophies on life, stories from her European upbringing, and insight on the true gems of Saugatuck, Wilma is all smiles. About 15 years ago, Wilma happened to be at the right place at the right time and the stars aligned for her to purchase the Bridge Street home and cottage. Upon her retirement, she has been able to devote more time to gardening and other creative endeavors – many of which you will enjoy during your stay. The garden is inviting and Wilma’s pottery is infused in the space (and as an extra bonus, you can purchase some of her work if you are interested).
Wilma Kosal purchased this Cottage in 2001
Why Wilma Kosal chose Saugatuck
“I felt at home. The general atmosphere of the town, the beach, and the arts spoke to me. How wonderful to be able to enjoy a fantastic meal at a restaurant, enjoy a play, and then walk the shores at sunset. Saugatuck is beautiful, unique, friendly, and there are different programs and events offered throughout the year that whenever you visit, something special awaits you.”
What makes this Cottage unique
Past guests have described the cottage as romantic, enchanting, and cozy. You come to a potentially busy town and you can escape in your own cottage. There are only 3 houses on the street. You are alone if you want to be. Downtown is only a 5 minute walk from the cottage. The garden is lovely and past guests comment that it feels like you are transported back in time. Personally, I love riding my bike into town, hanging out at the coffee shop while reading the paper and people-watching. Then I enjoy gardening back at my house, talking with friends, and taking walks at sunset on the beach. It is my ideal retirement town.

Charming Cottage in quiet location
This is a small, charming cottage, perfect for a couple. It is clean and bright, and the gardens are very pretty. It is in a quiet location, so it was great for sleeping, but is close to everything. Would recommend for couples looking for a quiet, quaint spot.
Loved the Lark
This property was perfect for my weekend getaway. Nestled on the outer edge of Saugatuck, it was easy walking distance into town. Cozy & quaint, but absolutely amazing. Wilma checked me in and gave me a few local tips, and then left me to my own adventures for the rest of the weekend. LOVE LOVE LOVE the cottage, and will look for it if I have another weekend in Saugatuck!!
A little misleading
We had no idea the cottage was so small. Not even a closet. Enjoyed the deck.
Weekend in Saugatuck
The cottage was very clean, well maintained, all the needed amenities provided, good and easy communication with owner.
Would recommend to my mother.
Tranquil cozy cottage
We enjoyed our stay. The cottage is very quiet, and convenient to downtown. The backyard is a beautiful and tranquil place to relax.
What a great weekend stay! One of my close friends and I decided to have a much needed moms away weekend and this was perfect for us! Wilma was wonderful and so welcoming. The cottage is so cute and quaint. The backyard garden is beautiful. We enjoyed relaxing on the back deck sipping some wine. We loved every minute of our stay. The cottage isn’t a far walk from town at all but if you don’t feel like walking, call the inter urban bus! For $1 they pick you up and take you into Saugatuck or Douglas. When I come back to the area, we will definitely book this again! Thank you Wilma for making this beautiful little cottage so perfect and sweet. We just loved it.
Located in the historical district; a 5-minute walk to the center of Saugatuck & Douglas.
