Enjoy the Hendersonville area in our lovely early 1900s community. We have lovingly restored this one bedroom cottage with quality antiques and fine furnishings and linens. Nestled under huge shade trees and park like grounds, you will be comfortable inside, on the porch, or on a bench under a tree. We are dog friendly to conscientious owners. There are many scenic, low traffic areas to walk in our community. We are a two minute walk to a couple of gentle waterfall areas and Rhododendron Lake park(See pics).
The living room features a queen sized sleeper sofa, additional seating and a 50" T.V. and Internet. This dining room comfortably seats four. The bedroom features a queen bed with high quality linens and closet. The back porch has a gas grill and seating/dining area that overlooks a large dog run that is available. The kitchen has everything you need to whip up a local grown Carolina meal or enjoy some of our local wines and craft beer. We have been consistent users of vacation rentals and wanted to offer our guest home with all of the comforts we look for when traveling. We hope to see you soon!
I work all over the world, but love the call the Western Carolinas my home. I grew up in Florida, but moved to Hendersonville in 2006. Waking up to 60 degree mornings in June lets me know I made the right decision.
owner/property manager purchased this cottage in 2015
I fell in love with this property the moment I saw it. The estate was built in the early 1900s. I have a weakness for the character of older homes. With a separate maids quarters and guest cottage, the property is great for hosting. I pulled up green(lovely color choice of the seventies)carpet and restored the original hardwood floors. I had fun finding vintage furniture pieces that came together to create a cozy and classy living space.
There is a fenced in dog run (see pic) that can be used to allow your furry friend to run around. The neighborhood roads are lightly traveled and great for walks through this early 1900s community.
This little cottage was a great place to stay for our visit. It is tucked away among huge trees in a very nice neighborhood. It has everything
you need and more supplied for your convenience, even a little wine. Coffee, tea, cream etc. all included in a complete kitchen, even honey
and sauces. TV, wifi are all set up, and plenty of heat for the cool nights. The cottage was furnished with many interesting antiques that fit
right in with the dark knotty pine woodwork. Owner was friendly and very helpful. Hope to stay here again!
I have written two 5 star reviews about our stay in this cottage but now frustrated with communication that I can't get through. Going through HomeAway has not been easy for us. We have 2 properties that have trees on them on the coast from hurricane Matthew so I don't have time to keep trying.. sorry
I had a wonder stay in this Laurel Park cottage. It was comfortably cozy for me and my dog. The street it's situated on doesn't see much traffic so it's perfect for walking the dog around. I have zero complaints about this place. I will be recommending this one to all my friends. Thank you, Mike and Diane!
We come up from Charleston often during the summer to mountain bike in Dupont State Forest. We were up looking at real estate to buy and staying here for the weekend. The cottage is small, but so cute and cozy. I felt like I was staying in a little house from the forties, kind of like my Grandmother's little house. It was very comfortable and in a beautiful location. We would walk around the block in the afternoons and stop at the 2 waterfalls along the way. Very serene, plus it's just minutes from downtown Hendersonville. Thanks for letting us stay.
What a wonderful stay - just the right size, price and location for our needs. We are very familiar with the area and wanted something in Laurel Park, but most rentals in this small enclave of Hendersonville are much bigger and therefore much more money. We were welcomed with our two dogs (also unique to find a place that allows two decent sized pups) and wonderfully comfortable for a full two weeks. Diane was a very attentive, yet unobtrusive host. We had everything we needed and would happily stay there again.
I really wanted to give this cottage a 5 star rating because the owners were fantastic, the cottage was adorable, and the location could not be beat. The positives so outweigh a few very minor negatives. But I do like to be fully informed when I read reviews so I am contributing as such. Our stay happened to be during a week of record high temperatures in Hendersonville well into the 90's and stayed in the 70's into the night. The cottage only has a window air conditioner in the living room which did not cool the bedroom at all. After a few days of suffering, my husband and I finally slept on the pull-out sofa in the living room. It was less than comfortable. Again, the unexpected high temperatures are probably something that seldom happens and may not ever be a problem again. The only other issue is the small space in the bathroom. I am short and yet I sat sideways on the toilet because the space between the toilet and the bathtub is less than 6 inches or so. My husband at 6'1" and had no option but to sit sideways. This may be too much information for you, but something to consider if you like to have larger "sitting" quarters. Basically, the cottage is everything one could expect for its age. The amenities and supplies were outstanding. There is a fenced dog run on the property that is fantastic and there are a few small waterfalls within walking distance. The owners were very knowledgeable about Hendersonville and helpful in suggesting things to do and see. We hope to return to Hendersonville in the future and would rent the cottage again.
