Art is has been a professional potter for 46 years. I (Louise) am a retired financial person who has dedicated the last 10 years of my life to honing my cooking skills to the professional level. I have catered and baked professionally and our breakfasts are legendary with homemade Artisan breads, house smoked apple wood bacon and farm fresh eggs. The pre fixe dinner choices rival and surpass 5 star restaurant fare.
Why? Because this property is exceptionally beautiful year round. In the summer we are in the middle of wonderful hiking trails, wonderful brook trout fishing, biking and exceptional golf courses. In the fall, the foliage is beyond words. In the winter we are less that 13 miles from world class ski resorts (Sugarbush and Mad River Glen).
My family of 4 had a grand time at this B&B.
Tremendous breakfast prepared by Louise every morning.
Very pretty dwelling well appointed and modern.
Definitely would stay there again, close to sugarbush for skiing.
Quick drive to Sugarbush. Great place for family with 3-4 kids. Louis and Art are wonderful hosts, a real "home away from home". Let them pamper your whole family. The homemade meals are great (admit it, what could be better after a long day on the ski slopes), and the steam shower is rejuvantive. Louise and Art are great with kids - if you're nice, Art might just show them around his pottery room.
Louise fed us like kings and queens. We had a great stay and will be returning this fall. Thanks Louise for making are stay special.
I stayed at this lovely spot for the weekend with my two sons and one of their girlfriends . It was really cool! The hosts, Louise and Art were very acommodating and friendly! We arrived in the dark and it was late .Louise had a batch of yummy home made cookies waiting for us. The home was very architecturally interesting which we all enjoyed. There was a nice big living room with an antique wood stove and flat screen tv we had to ourselves. The kitchen was warm and welcoming, totally stocked with beautiful pottery and everything you need. Louise and Art made us feel very comfortable using the kitchen. The bedrooms had comfy beds, wonderful down puffs and great linens. Everything was very clean. The bathrooms were new and modern and had lots of fluffy towels in full supply. There is a steam shower in one bath and a nice shower in the other. In the morning, Louise cooked us a marvelous breakfast both days including homemade cinnamon rolls, scones, omelets made to order, bacon and fresh fruit salad and toast. The two bedrooms , one with a queen bed and one with two twins and a queen were on two different floors, maybe a little difficult for a family with young kids but all in all a great place..The waterfalls and grounds are gorgeous ! Very nice!
It was so nice to arrive to a warm, cozy home when the outside temperatures read -24 degrees. Louise and Art welcomed us with open arms as if we were part of their family coming to stay. Breakfasts were wonderful and the homemade scones and cookies were yummy! The beds were comfy and showers hot, which was great after a day of skiing. It was nice to have use of the great room to play games in and the kitchen to make dinner so we didn't have to eat out every night. Louise truly means it when she says, "What's ours is yours while you're here."
My boyfriend and I came up to relax and enjoy the beauty of Vermont. Louise and Art were exceptional hosts. They were both so welcoming and made us feel at home. The bed was better than some hotels, the washroom spacious, and the view from every window picturesque. The location was wonderful - close to hills and wonderful restaurants. Thank you Louise & Art!
