About Jane Brennan Rosie
I lived in this house for the first ten years of my life. Part of the living room was once an enclosed porch that was used as the post office for Macatawa. My grandmother was the postmaster, and used to operate the post office for the summer cottagers and winter residents right there out of her home in the 1930's. My father was born in one of the upstairs bedrooms. The house was passed down to my father in the late 1940's, and remains in our family. It has been vacant since my childhood, and was totally renovated - literally from the foundation up - in 2012. We tried to keep some of the original touches in the house, even as decorator pieces for your enjoyment, though all the comforts of home are there. We wanted to invite others to experience the great location and idyllic setting I had as a kid. It was a wonderful experience growing up in Macatawa Park. I have great memories of my childhood there. It remains very much the same as when I grew up in the 1950's.
Jane Brennan Rosie purchased this House in 1920
Why Jane Brennan Rosie chose Holland
I am the third generation owner of this property. My family history is very important to me, and this cottage and my memories of growing up in this house with my family are very close to my heart.
What makes this House unique
There is a photo in the house showing you my family and me at Christmas time right in the living room, with the original stairway behind the tree. The house is located in a very quiet spot in Macatawa Park. It is very peaceful at the house, with deer and wildlife wandering quite freely during their feeding times.

House was very comfortable. A little further from the beach than I expected but still within easy walking distance.
We had 7 people and had a lot of room as well as some privacy.
Annual Summer Trip
We spend one or two weeks in Holland every summer and absolutely loved our stay at Snug Harbor. It’s a great house and a perfect location. We hope to stay there again! Thank you.
Would book again as exaclty as promised and clean, host A+.
Great location and host.
The location and accommodations exactly what we needed. The host was on hand to meet us even with a delayed arrival and walked through the house details.
Would absolutely book again next time in town for Sailing event.
Great place to stay and close to Lake Michigan and Lake Macatawa
Property is well maintained and very clean. It is steps from Lake Macatawa and a short walk to Lake Michigan and Big Red Lighthouse!
Even with a house full of folks, these people took great care of the cottage. We would love to have them return again.
Clean and great location
Can’t wait to go back!
Everything was clean and spacious! Great set up for 8 of us or even more.
We appreciated how well these folks communicated and took care of the cottage. They were great renters!
