We really enjoyed staying in your apartment. It was much bigger than I expected and had everything we needed (except a phone – but we knew that). It was quiet in the bedroom, comfortable, convenient and, of course, spotlessly clean. We had not really ever taken buses before in Paris, but once you learn how, they are much better than the Metro (we didn’t try to go anywhere in rush hour though) and, as you promised, there were several convenient ones within a few blocks of the apartment. We found we could walk to restaurants of many different types and, in spite of the rain, that was pleasant. Having an excellent bakery at the corner was also really great. And I didn’t expect to find supermarkets so close – and to find them open such long hours. Another major plus, of course, was Adrian. Having him meet us at the airport relieved us of the anxiety one has in arriving tired in a different country. It was also a pleasant surprise that he speaks excellent English and his charges were very reasonable. So, thank you for making our stay in Paris so pleasant. We would certainly rent your apartment again if it is available next time we return to Paris.
I stayed for 4 weeks in the apartment. A great location with good access to buses and the metro and near Rue Mouffetard. The place was spacious --- especially by Paris standards and there is lots of light. I liked that Genevieve and her son were upstairs. The place is ideal for two single people as the front room has doors that close, giving privacy to both.
Owner was so nice and helpful. She was staying in the apartment above in case we needed any help. Apartment clean, kitchen nice (we actually cooked in it two nights). Very close to rue mouffetard which is charming and has a small supermarket also. So easy to get food or supplies if you are looking to save a little money. The owner Genevieve was accommodating and gracious. Very close to metro, bus is immediately outside. RER in different direction but also close. We would stay here again!!!!
I really really enjoyed my stay in this flat. It felt extremely authentic parisian. You cannot beat a spacious one bedroom apartment with charm and a balcony in the fabulous 5th arrondissement. The kitchen was so functional and adorable. I often sat outside on the balcony enjoying my coffee and aperitif/glass of wine. Genevieve (the host) is wonderful. She really helped me navigate Paris and had great suggestions. Would highly recommend this flat. Fantastic.
We had an excellent time in this apartment. The location is great. The bus stop is so close to the apartment, a real plus! The metro is a bit of walk, but not too far. Genevieve is very warm and welcoming. The property manager, Adrian is really great and knowledgeable. We really enjoyed staying in this apartment, and we hope to come back again.
A friend, and long-time visitor to this apartment, recommended it to my wife and me as an escape from the hordes of tourists and an opportunity to live among Parisians. So it was. Our morning coffee and evening wine were enjoyed on the fifth floor balcony while watching the French going about their lives on the street below. A particular joy for us, found just around the corner on Rue Mouffetard, was the the Sunday morning farmers market where we enjoyed breakfast at a corner cafe while listening to the music of a Jazz band and singer that performed nearby on the street. We also enjoyed pastry and espresso each morning just steps away from the apartment door at the bakery on the corner of Rue Berthollet and Rue Claude Bernard. A few steps further up Rue Claude Bernard is a wonderful Italian restaurant, run by Italian immigrants, that apartment owner Genevieve recommended to us. Most of the numerous tourist attractions of Paris can be reached by bus, and a stop on Route 21 is at the entrance to the apartment. A stop for Route 27 is just around the corner on Rue Claude Bernard. Much is within walking distance as my wife and I walked back to the apartment from Luxembourg Gardens and the Pantheon several times. While we very much enjoyed sitting on the balcony, the sitting room of the apartment might benefit from the addition of some comfortable sitting chairs. The futon bed in the living room serves reasonably well as a couch, but the lone rocking chair seemed to be in need of repair or replacement. The queen bed was quite comfortable and we slept well during our one week stay. The kitchen seemed to be well stocked, but we ate out for most of our meals. We very much enjoyed our visit at this apartment and will recommend it to anyone looking to move outside the usual realm of tourist lodging.
