Having travelled around Italy for the last 8 years with my family, the Calabrian region truly captured our hearts. The people, the surroundings, the food provide couples and families with great value.
5 star view at a fraction of the cost!
Words escape me. Our stay at the villa has been fantastic. The villa is part of a small complex and is located atop a hill overlooking the Calabrian coastline from Tropea through to Amantea. The views are spectacular. The villa is extremely comfortable and as a family of 7, we did not feel cramped in any way. The villa has three bedrooms, 2 doubles and a third with a double bunk bed and single bed. Two bathrooms and an outdoor shower makes it easy to freshen up at the end of a beach day. The kitchen is modern and has all the utensils you may need for any inhouse cooking. The outdoor area was great for the kids to play and run around a little, whilst for the adults the opportunity to take in an afternoon aperitivo after a long day at the beach or a BBQ and watch the nightly sunsets was great. The location is a 5 minute drive up the hill from Zambrone station. It is only about 10 minutes drive to Tropea, but having stayed here for just on two weeks we availed ourselves to the many beaches in close proximity from zambrone to Parghelia to Paradise Del Sub and many others. None disappoint. Their are great pizzerias / restaurants within 5 - 10 minutes drive either at Zambrone or Parghelia.
The owners were extremely accomodating with our reservation and any questions we may have had and even gave us the opportunity to overview the property before our confirmed arrival. A great, great family stay and one that I would highly recommend!
Very clean and shiny floor's, plenty of wardrobe space, excellent in the lounge, where the view of the sea, is such a welcome to wake up to .... Totally inviting place to stay...I will be booking again very soon.. Thank you Lucy for letting us share your beautiful family home .
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this lovely new villa. A home from home, very well appointed and perfectly positioned with breathtaking views across the sea and to nearby Tropea. In beautiful condition with plenty of outside space to kick back & relax and soak up the sun, including an outside eating area and a roof terrace to watch those beautiful sunsets. A truly totally relaxing little haven. Fantastic beaches just a 5 minute car journey. Wonderful restaurants in the historic town of Tropea, a must visit. We can't wait to return and would recommend to anyone thinking of visiting this area. Grazie Mille!
I have stayed here twice and it is heaven on earth. The house is immaculate and beautifully positioned on a hilltop with views out over the sea, towards Tropea. The sunsets and views of Stromboli are amazing. The nearest beach is about 5 minutes by car, with fine white sand and crystal clear turqoise water. Tropea is about 15 minutes by car, and is a beautiful historic town with many amazing shops and restaurants. Eating out is very cheap--make sure you try the fresh pizzas from the pizzeria just up the road in Zambrone. They are absolutely delicious and only about 5 Euros each. I would definitely recommend this villa. I spent my 40th birthday here last year and it was one of the best holidays I've ever had.
Very pleasant brand new house with superb view. Beaches are beautiful and easily accessible (5mn by car). Everything went fine and we really liked it !
This beautiful house in perfect location with an amazing view to the Aeolian Islands is really a place to relax and enjoy holidays. The kitchen is fully equipped (also with food of previous guests), the living rooms offers a choice of videos for stormy evenings (who needs a TV with antenna during vacations?). However, the WIFI which we would have needed for planning our trips, was not working besides of many promises! This was a big fat minus point of our holidays!
Zambrone, a typically Italian and authentic village is short drive from Tropea and around a 20 minute drive to Pizzo. It has a beautiful town square where there is a couple of bars and restaurant, pharmacy and a few small supermarkets including a deli and daily fresh bread. All of the local people are very accommodating, friendly and give you a warm welcome to their home. A short drive to Zambrone beach, will allow you to swim and relax on what is considered one of the best beaches in the area. There is a hidden beach behind the train station that is truly stunning. Not for the faint hearted as you have to climb down quite a few steps to get to the bottom! The train station is nearby which offers low cost fares to the various surrounding towns. Either further south towards Reggio de Calabria where you can catch a ferry to Sicily or direct to Lamezia where the airport is located. All is also easily accessible by car. Other local activites could include a day trip to Stomboli from the local port in Tropea, visiting the famous church also in Tropea that resides on a rock, Santa Maria della Isola, hiring a boat, playing football, shopping, travelling around the Capo Vaticano coastline, known as the 'Coast of the Gods'.
