Would certainly use this rental home again in the future. Directions for home use were given and guidelines for clean up. Beautiful view and back yard. Many thanks!
The house had a really comfortable layout, very clean and spacious. The best and most surprising part was the swimming. From the photos, we weren't sure how the swimming would be (previous reviews did say it was great, but we have rented homes where we have read similar types of reviews and were a little disappointed). The kids LOVED the swimming, they could go out so far, it was safe and very clean. Water shoes are a must, as they would be anywhere on the lake. The fishing was awesome and we enjoyed the fire pit. Back to the house, there were so many provisions that we did not expect. There were more towels than we could have begun to imagine. The kitchen could not have been more stocked with every dish/pot/appliance imaginable. The rooms were immaculate. We stayed during a heat wave and the air conditioning downstairs kept us very comfortable. And then there are all the Amish produce stands. The Amish were so friendly and their food was out of this world (had to bring as much back to Connecticut as we could fit!!). We highly recommend this home and would love to rent it in the future!!
We were happy to find a lovely well-furnished house with the space we needed for our family. There is a gorgeous view of Lake Ontario from the house. The steps to the lake are very steep. The kitchen is very well equipped. The bathrooms and the kitchen are modern. We enjoyed the beautiful sunsets. We took a day trip to Niagara Falls. We enjoyed the farm stands nearby. There are games for both indoors and out. We were all really pleased with the house.
We had a great time here. Property was ideal for kids and relaxation. House is well equipped with anything you could possibly need during your stay. We had a family of swans stop by for a visit. The kids loved going out and feeding them bread. We had a tree frog come down the chimney one morning and we got a real kick out of that experience. We took him and put him back outside. The neighbors are quiet and friendly. The only thing that kept me from giving the property 5 stars was how clean it was when we got there. The floors needed a thorough scrubbing and the place has cob webs and a lot of dusty corners. In all honesty, I'm a clean freak, so very few places I stay could live up to my expectations, but even my husband said something. I would also warn about the gnats this time of year. They were brutal at night. Keep the lights low and the doors closed unless you like cleaning up lots of little dead bugs every day. It's part of life on the lake. Try to make the best of it. The owner and her maintenance people are wonderful and I highly recommend this as a great vacation spot for a family with children. My kids were in heaven. The steps down into the lake were a real plus too. My kids loved swimming & playing in the lake and the large yard. We enjoyed nights by the fire pit and star gazing. The sunsets are gorgeous and so are the sunrises. Make sure you grocery shop before you settle in. The nearest grocery stores take a while to get to. There is a gas station/convenience store that sells beer near by, but it's expensive. Overall, we had a wonderful stay!
We had a lovely 4 days at this house on the shore of Lake Ontario. There are five bedrooms so we were able bring our adult son, and our adult daughter and her husband were also able to join us. The house itself is roomy, clean and quite comfortable with a fully equipped kitchen. It even comes with cable television and WiFi. There isn't a beach to speak of; there are steps leading into the water. We didn't choose to swim in the lake, but my daughter and her husband were able to launch their kayaks from the backyard. Mostly, we enjoyed being able to sit and read with a glass of wine and look out at the lake. The yard was big enough for us to play croquet with the set that comes with the house. We drove to nearby Lakeside Park one morning to play disc golf. The biggest drawback is also one of it biggest assets. It really is away from it all. We had trouble finding a grocery store. But there are plenty of farm stands in the area and an EZ Mart in Lyndonville, which is about 15 minutes away. However, if you plan to stay here, bring groceries with you or be prepared to do some driving. Overall, we had a lovely time here, and if you're looking to get away from it all, this is a nice place to do it.
House is nice, renovations are great Beach is rocky and access to water is limited. Bedroom linens need to be updated, worn out and no elastic, and no spares we could find. Very nice views. Back patio is not useable - used for storage and lots of bugs. Quiet area. 1 hour drive to Niagara Falls, close to wine trail. House had all necessary household items. Very clean house. Never saw any neighbors. Did some fishing from shore and caught fish. Lots of farm stands and orchards nearby. Overall a good place to rent, would do it again.
1 hour from Niagara Falls and the Seneca Niagara Casino. Located within the Niagara Wine Trail and near State Parks and boat launches. Great fishing in Lake Ontario and the Oak Orchard Creek. Green Harbor Marina just down the road for boat launch and boat rental. 45-60 minutes to The Strong Children's Museum, Sea Breeze Waterpark, Darien Lake Theme Park, Rochester Museum and Science Center. Niagara On the Lake in Canada is also just 60 minutes away - don't forget your passports if you intend to go into Canada.
So much to do and the driving is easy on country roads - with many farm markets along the way. Peaceful location yet close to so many activities!
