One of the reasons we decided to buy this property was because of the wonderful privacy and extraordinary views.
River fishing is available in town on the San Juan River. The quality waters of the San Juan below Navajo Lake is world renowned for the incredible trout fly fishing. Wolf Creek Ski area boasts the most snow in Colorado, with an average of over 600 inches per year!
The Wolf Creek Ski Area is about 20 miles away and the main roads are always kept clean. This ski area gets more snow than any other ski area in Colorado, on average.

With mountains, pines, stars, fresh air and delightful hosts, mountain trails and hot springs nearby, I had the most relaxing and restorative time ! I make it a point to come each year to this peaceful, beautiful haven and simply be. I enjoy the array of movies available too, as I don't have a TV at home, Stephanie
This property is 100% advertised correctly. The property was very clean and well maintained. I especially enjoyed morning coffee outside the cabin. We saw deer in the morning across the meadow. Bring your own lawn chairs. The fact that I could bring my dog was important to me when selecting accommodations. The owners could not have been more accomodating this regard. The property is secluded but not too far from town. We cooked supper in the cabin and everything worked out fine - just plan on doing everything stove top or in the microwave. I brought two extra cooking vessels and a small cooler.
We loved the cabin as a getaway for two and would definitely come back again. Juliette and Jason were wonderful hosts. Our only recommendation would be to create a little patio just for the cabin (although our trip was quick enough that I'm not sure we would have had the time to hang out on such a patio a whole lot -- there's so much good stuff to do in Pagosa!)
The cabin is cozy and nicely appointed. For the two of us and our dog, the space was quite sufficient for our needs. The use of the 'doggy couch blanket' for our dog Kali made this a wonderful place for her while we were out. The location was nice and away from the business of the town. The entry through the garage was unique, but worked out perfectly. Juliette could not have been a better host. She was extremely helpful and easy to contact.
There are a couple of considerations about the cabin that we should mention. We believe that the space would be tight for more than two people, but perfect for two. The kitchen is limited in both counter space and the ability to fix meals. There is no oven, just a two burner cook top and a toaster oven. Available pans for cooking are lacking. Knowing what we know about the kitchen, we would plan to prep meals with these things in mind. We had a minor issue with WIFI where often we could only use one device at a time. This WIFI limit was easy to work with.
All in all we enjoyed our stay and would definitely consider staying here again when in the area.
Jason and Juliette are some of the niceSt people you could ever do business with. We had some issues with the 4 wheel drive in our truck. They graciously allowed us to use one of their pickups for the entire 4 day stay. Without that generosity we would have been stuck in the driveway.
As far as the cabin goes, it was absolutely the perfect romantic getaway. The wood stove cackling as you go to sleep in a quaint little log cabin made the entire experience. The views are also beyond amazing. It snowed almost 3 feet during the 4 days we were there. It made it truly a winter wonderland.
My husband and I cannot say enough good things about Red Paws Ranch and its owners, Jason and Juliette! They went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed and have a great stay! They were very friendly to talk to but also gave us privacy! Couldn't ask for better hosts! The cabin was great for me and my husband, we enjoyed spending our evenings there relaxing. The location is perfect, with easy access to town (less than 10 minutes) but located in a beautiful treed area with great views! This is the most pet-friendly place we have stayed and is very affordable as well! We will definitely be staying here for our future trips. Thanks again Jason and Juliette!
