I live very nearby and can respond within minutes in most cases. My default behavior is to let my guests enjoy themselves without my involvement. I may stop by to meet you at some point in your stay but will contact you before i do. I am also available and will happily help you with any activity or pursuit upon request. I enjoy all the fruits of Alexander Valley and Northern California and know many local winemakers, wine growers, restaurants, hiking and biking trails, etc. I also bicycle, hike, love fine wines and dining. Sonoma County bristles with opportunity from the very active to just sitting on the deck looking at the vineyards and birds. I am available at your request for any activity or issue you may have with your accommodations. I am equally happy to make myself scarce so you can enjoy the privacy this country home offers.

I stayed here with a group of 9 friends- all in our late 20s- most of whom flew in from NYC for a weekend getaway in wine country. We had the most wonderful weekend and can't say enough about this great house and amazing location! The property is literally surrounded by vineyards, and the sunset from the large backyard, complete with grazing horses in the field next to the house, was gorgeous! The backyard has a couple of tables which were perfect for eating outside, and several hummingbird feeders which were quite the hotspot for hummingbirds all weekend. There is also a hot tub just outside the house, which was so much fun for me and my girlfriends at the end of the day while our boyfriends played darts next to us. The location of the home is wonderful. So many vineyards within walking distances, and great ones a short car ride away. The Jimtown Store, a really cute old-fashioned general store, is just up the road, and you can eat breakfast or lunch there or order lunch boxes ahead of time for a day of wine tasting. The interior of the house was just what we needed. The beds were comfortable, and best of all was the really large, open kitchen complete with large dining table. We had a great time eating and playing board games at night. This house is really the perfect place for a large group looking for a fun, relaxing weekend or week together. Dell, the homeowner, was so easy to work with and had great suggestions for us. When we arrived, the house was full of fresh flowers, plus a bottle of wine for us and a bowl of apples to feed the horses with! We will definitely be coming back next year! Truly an idyllic wine country experience.

What a wonderful spot for visiting Healdsburg and wine country! The backyard is great for watching birds, sitting on the deck under the trees eating dinner or drinking wine, feeding the neighbor's horses or even a game of ping pong. The nicely decorated house itself is well equipped for cooking, eating, lounging and sleeping. There is ample parking in the driveway for several cars. The house is situated in a very quite area with easy access to wineries on foot, by bicycle or a short car ride. It was an easy drive into Healdsburg where there were many nice restaurants and stores. This would definitely be a first choice when staying in the area again.
We had a great family weekend at Casa Colibri! The bunk room was awesome for the kids, and they had a great time running around, watching all the hummingbirds, and saying hello to the friendly horses next door. Huge, fabulous kitchen and outdoor grill/dining area - perfect for cooking up our loot from the farmers market! Dell was a really thoughtful host - detailed information on the property was emailed prior, and fresh flowers and a bottle of wine were there to enjoy on our arrival. The house was very clean and there was plenty of space for 2 couples and 3 younger kids. And you can't beat the location - the Jimtown store is a short walk, Healdsburg and Geyersville are quick 10 minute drives, and perfect to just hop on your bike and enjoy the winding wine-country roads.
Lovely spot for a weekend getaway with a group, one of the few times where the house is better than the pictures! Came here with a group of girlfriends and had a wonderful weekend. There were comfortable beds for everyone, and two nicely updated bathrooms. Having the nice open kitchen in the middle of the house made it feel like the heart of the house and was a great for cooking together and hanging out. The location is incredible, we were able to walk to two wine tastings and then it was a quick trip down to the river, truly ideal!
Dell is also an exceptional host! We booked this house last minute (3 days before) because another house backed out. Dell was great about getting back to me even when traveling, was very accommodating and easy to work with. He left flowers and wine and a lovely note with lots of tips, made us feel very taken care of at welcome! It was all very much appreciated!
I highly recommend this spot and would stay here again in a heart beat! Perfect retreat! Thanks so much Dell!
We had a lovely time at Casa Colibri - the name is so fitting. There are humming birds all day long at the feeders right by the windows! The home is centered by it's large kitchen and dining table, the perfect gathering spot. There are plenty of comfortable beds, a great hot tub, and beautiful yard. The surrounding area is great too - very easy access to wineries, Jimtown Store next door for coffee/light fare, and of course great area for running/cycling. Dell made us feel so welcome, filling the house with fresh flowers and a welcome bottle of local wine. We can't wait to go back!
The house was perfect and the owner was amazing. He answered my questions promptly and had beautiful fresh flowers, and a nice welcome note for me and my family when we arrived.. If the weather would have cooperated (it poured all weekend) , we could have enjoyed the great patio, hot tub and the horses living next door.. Dell even left apples and carrots for us to give to the horses. But they didn't like the rain either and stayed near their barn all weekend.. So yes, I would recommend this home next time you are in Healdsberg and want a charming place to stay.
THINGS YOU CAN DO AT THE HOUSE OR WITHIN WALKING DISTANCE: There are 3 wineries and tasting rooms within easy walking distance. Right out the back door on the deck bird watching is exceptional. The house sits on open land, surrounded by vineyards, trees and horse pastures. The Russian River riparian corrididor is less than a mile away. This unique combination of micro-climate and habitat range creates a steady show of avian wildlife. Binoculars are provided but bring your own if you are already a bird nerd. THINGS WITHIN A 10 MINUTE DRIVE OR 20 MINUTE BIKE RIDE: There are literally scores of premium wineries open daily. You really cannot miss when it comes to fine wines here. Shopping in Healdsburg offers unique shops, wine tasting rooms, health spas, and a small-town charm which is unrivaled. All ages are welcome to this civic event. The music starts at 6 PM and ends at 8 - go a little early to find a good spot. Food trucks line the north side of the Plaza so you can just bring yourself, your dancing shoes and have a fun evening. Geyserville is a smaller but fun little town with good restaurants and a few shops. The Dry Creek Rancheria Vegas-style casino is within 5 miles if you are feeling lucky.
