Lovely Long Weekend

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed the comfortable, well-equipped rooms in the quiet residential neighborhood. Everything we wanted was convenient: a corner market and a terrific bakery (serving breakfast and pastries that were too good) a short two blocks away, a supermarket and multiple good restaurants within a mile. The sunsets, clearly seen through large, second story windows were, as advertised, spectacular. We were initially a bit intimidated by the narrow streets and the need for on-street parallel parking but this was not a problem. And all the major sites we visited were a

short, easy ride. We had a wonderful time and enjoyed ourselves much more than we would have in a downtown hotel.

Great Place to Stay Long Term

  • 4 of 5

Stayed here 2 weeks & used this place as home base. Ross & Amber are gracious owners & were very helpfully & friendly. The baby was quiet & very happy. Only heard her occasional laughter but hardly any crying.

The apartment is all about location, location! 1 1/2 blocks away is nice local grocery store and a great Taco Place where we frequent and there was a fantastic cafe that had delicious bakery items and good lunch selection & good coffee.

10 short blocks from the apartment is a street called Queen Anne which was the main commercial ave. - lots of restaurant, shops, pharmacy, Safeway, etc. The apartment is close to public transportation but we ended using Uber since we had more than 2 people & it was cheaper than using the bus. We had a book called the "Stairways of Seattle" and "Seattle Walks" which gave several walks near the apartment. Quiet area.

The apartment didn't have any off street parking but there was plenty parking on the street & we always ended up with a parking space in front. The apartment is set up for 4 people and anymore would be a bit crowded. I cleared it with Ross & Amber ahead of time that our son who was attending college in Oregon could stay with us at anytime, even when our two friends where staying with us. Our son, was agreeable to sleeping on the floor if needed but that didn't come to pass since he was only able to visit for the weekend before our friends arrived.

The apartment is spacious, bright and very clean. We were visiting in August when the weather is normally quite nice but we happened to arrive in the midst of very hot, hot weather (in the 80-90s). The apartment doesn't have air conditioning but it wasn't a problem. We quickly learned which windows to leave open & pop in screens (to keep out bugs), when to keep the blinds down and the placement of the two floor fans. We were gone most of the day so with a little management and fore thought everything worked out fine.

The flat screen TV was in a small room/alcove to itself and we could only find limited channels but it was a smart TV so we could access Netflix and other apps. Our son, was able to work on his project using the TV access as well as the WiFI. The Apt is well equipped with linen, towels, coffee maker and grinder, cooking items, plates, hair dryer etc. The stackable washer/dryer worked well and we used it several times. There was an SamSung Audio device/speaker that worked with our iphone for music.

All in all - it was a great stay!
